Just had my tension rods changed on my R33 GTS-T over the weekend from stock items to the Cusco adjustable items. Never realised what a big difference it made... Much better turn in, more direct steering feel but more kick back from steering when going over bumps on crappy Sydney roads... Anyone else have experiences good or bad with aftermarket adjustable tension rods...?

Finally got my my car fixed over the weekend. Yup, as what Dman said... the power steering fluid was contiminated and heaps of air bubbles in the system. The fluid actually looked healthy in the resovior (green in colour) but when it was drained out, it was near black. Flushed and filled with new fluid and noise gone...!

I've got the same problem at the moment. Try tightening the tension on the belt to power steering pump... If that fails, it may be contamination in the power steering fluid. Need to flush and change the power steer fluid.

No, not the seat but the hand grip bolted onto the interior of the roof... I'm missing the left rear passenger hand grip.

Guys, the sound coming from the dash that sounds like little motors are normal. They control the set temp from the climate control. You will notice this sound when manually adjusting the temp on the climate control. This is not a problem. The ticking noise comes from the winscreen demister vents. When the car or climate control system is turned on, it goes through a vent check. The connectors to the vents on top of the dash, aiming at the windscreen are known to dislodge and when they are activated to open/close the vents, it clicks. This is a problem and the only way to fix is to pull out the dash. This is not worthwhile fixing as after a while, it will dislodge again. This ticking sounds occurs in all Skylines I've been in... Hope this helps. B)

Hi guys. Hope you can help. The power steering on my R33 GTST started to make whining noises when turning the steering wheel. I've checked for leaks and the power steering fluid is at the right level. I took it to my mechanic and he has tightened the belt on the tensioner. He said the belt was still in good condition and not due for replacement. It was actually better for a day or so but now has gotten worse. The whining noise has gotten louder and now there is a sort of metallic scraping noise at very low or stand still speeds. All these noises are when the steering wheel is being turned and not when driving is a straight line. But when the car warms up the noises is more sub-dued only really loud when cold. What am I missing?? Pump on it's way out?? I hope not!

I'm having some problems with my climate control. The display is working, the a/c compressor "clicks" on when the a/c button pressed but the fan is not. Ie. No air is blown out of the vents. I've checked all the fuses in the fuse box and seems ok. There is power going to the blower under the dash on passenger side but no current when fan is switched on. I suspect the climate control unit may be busted but is there something else to check? Hope you guys can help!
