  1. there is many cheap piggy back cpu conversions around so sourcing them with injectors and exhausts and intercoolers isnt hard or exspensive.The turbo is rated to 650 hp or close to it.So the XR6T is a tunable weapon and will more so be in the future as manufactures of parts jump at each other for the competition.

    I work with all makes including alot of nissan skylines,200 sx,supras and anything else that has a turbo.

  2. I just went to the airpowersystems site. Phase 2 is meant to be 330fwkw.

    You must of bought the aps kit 2nd hand because 2K wont even buy you the phase 1 kit.

    I am with FIST Performance in Brissy.APS 330fwkw claim is only a guideline and all cars perform to how they are tuned.Im running 11psi with stock intercooler.My injectors are running about 90% duty cycle.I could easily run 14 psi and up some more fuel with a $800 intercooler and achieve 360rwkw.If i wont more i up the injectors again.I then regear the final ratio with a MK 2 final drive out of a manual with some 17 inch rims and with the right conditons and a set of borrowed slicks 10 sec Qauters are there.

  3. 2K for 300rwkw? Gees that's hard to believe. An APS phase 2 kit cost at least 5K and they claim it delievers 330kw at the fly. So i'm guessing you'll get 270rwkw from that.

    There's a guy on XR6T forum that does 11.5 1/4 miles and I'm sure he's spent at least 5K doing it up so 5K for 10 sec passes is hard to believe.

    Don't you need to change injectors(1K+)

    There's already 2K.  

    But then again you are doing everything yourself so you are saving a fair bit of money whereas most other people just give the car to someone else for them to do the work. That's where the $$$ come into play.

    There is many Unichip computers on the market,Injectors are getting cheap to source second hand,The auto just needs a shift module fitted"$60" and a oil cooler to be a super positive shift and the exhaust isnt dear if you know what combo to run.

    No where near as much as my mates 32gtr that has gone through about 5 motor and different turbo applications to achieve a low 10 sec pass.

    Spend 5k on an XR6T and you could run 10 sec pass.

    380rwkw

    Auto

    Diff gears

    slicks

    =10 sec pass

    i spent 2 k on mine to achieve from 195rwkw to 300rwkw.

    Also to the arguement that they are no good at track work,If you seen one set with the right springs and a manual trans and good driver they can mix it with most cars.

  5. What 1/4 Mile does the 600KW fellow get???

    Has not run it yet but both cars are hoping 9 sec passes thats if they dont rip the arse end out.The manaul will have a hard time getting it down over the auto.

    Both cars are drivin every day on the street and are not tubbed or anything for drags.They will be runnig slicks thou.

  6. 6 speed with Triple plate clutch.There is another car with the same power and its an auto.

    Im running auto tranny in mine and its at its limits of durability.I have a shift module and tranny cooler on it to prolong the life.You can get auto rebuilds for about 4k but i can do better.

    The autos with power upgrade pull better 1/4 mile times than most manuals.The quickest XR6T with 360rwkw ran a 10.98 with racing slicks and auto.

  7. Yeah. I love the look of the GT. sexy beast. As long as you have the power to match which you do.

    Isnt it funny that you try and be civil on these forums but other users have got nothing nice to say.Were i come from other forums execpt other makes of cars.

  8. To answer any questions on performance times of the XR6T,Here they are.

    14.5 to 14.0 Auto

    14.3 to 13.8 Manual

    They seem to make around 180rwkw to 200rwkw standard.

    I had a R33 gtst with pod filter,Full exhaust and 10 psi boost and just got beat by a stock XR6T comming back from willowbank.

    If alot of you guys are from the gold coast you will most probaly see me out then.

    You wont miss my number plates FPV T6.

  9. Enjoy blowing your engine with the 8psi or 10psi maps.

    Injectors and fuel pump way out of capability at those levels. Valve springs and the aforementioned need to be replaced before you run that sort of boost on the XR6-T.  

    Although it is scary how much power difference the edit can make.

    Edit is quite safe.Valve springs on a XR6T vary but mines making 300rwkw on stock springs.Injectors seem to be good to about 240rwkw.

    These cars had a few problems with build quility but thats mass production for you.

  10. We have club meets at Darlington park but i have noy yet raced my car there as it is still my family car and i would not want to prang it.

    There was Turbo falcs running there as well and they were pulling some quick times so im lead to believe.I will post some times up of the next meet as it is open to other makes aswell.

    Im a member of other turbo forums and come across yours and thought i would like to be apart of it as i once owned a skyline too.

    My name is darren and i drive a Ford XR6 Turbo with a few minor mods. eg Exhaust,injectors,computer and retune to 11 psi.

    As i have read so far about R33 gtst Skylines they seem to be a mid 14 sec car standard.I have a mate currently looking at one and its supposed to be a R33 1998 special edition with supposely 25000kms on it and stock as a rock.

    The car yard wants 26 grand for it.

    Is it worth it?

  12. Vuster, you should take your car down the track and see what mph you run?

    That will give you a good indication of how quick it is on the roll.

    My car has stock auto and converter and managers a pretty woofull 60 footer but the MPH is better than the ET time that i ran for a XR6 turbo
