  1. The BOV is still plumbed back, changed that back to stock before adding the pod. I noticed last night that it behaves much better at night when the air is cooler than in the day, might sound stupid but it seemed heaps quicker than when stock. It's just in the day time that its really laggy from 0-40km/h.

  2. Air Flow Meter!!! NOT Air Pressure Gauge..........

Who said Air Pressure Guage?? Can't find it anywhere on the page....

So Dobz..Are you saying that i can't have an atmospheric BOV??? How do other skyline owners do it? Plus i thought you have to have some sort of AFM all the time??? Confused.....

  3. Hey Guys

I recently installed a HKS mushroom filter on my S1 R33 (Auto) and noticed that the idle is running rough. Sounds almost like its missing a bit and revs at idle range from 400-900. The power on low end (10-40km) is really shite as well, feels really laggy. This is the only mod i've done to the car, everything else is bone stock.

The air filter was put on after a mate tried to get more sound out of the stock BOV. I.e. Plugged the plumb back hose and vented the BOV to atmosphere. We found that the car ran rough as guts, hunting at idle and stalling, but sounded great hahaha, so we put the BOV back to stock plumb back and just bolted on a mushroom filter. Later did some research and heard that stock BOV is always open just a little and idle was hunting due to lack of back pressure. Is this true?

My assumption is that the problem will be fixed after installing an after market BOV which stays closed when not venting. Will this fix the problem? Also I haven't reset the ECU after changing to mushroom filter, maybe give that a go????

    Cheers

  5. Associated Press (AP) 15 September 2005, 01:32 (Brisbane, Australia)

    EARTHQUAKE ROCKS IPSWICH

A major earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale has hit Australia

in the early hours of this morning, with the epicentre believed to be in

the South Eastern City of Ipswich. Victims were seen wandering around

aimlessly muttering, "F'kin 'ell" and "Whadda baaarst'd".

The earthquake has completely decimated the area, leaving a damage bill

expected to exceed more than A$3000. Several priceless collections,

including mementos from the Torana Appreciation Society and the Ipswich

Progress Hall, were destroyed in the quake. Three areas of historic

burnt out cars were disturbed. Many locals were woken well before their

    welfare cheques arrived.

Brisbane radio reported that hundreds of residents were confused and

bewildered, still trying to come to terms with the fact that something

interesting had happened in the area. One resident - Tracy Sharon Smith,

a 15-year-old mother of 4 said, "It was such a shock, my little

Chardonnay Mercedes came running into my bedroom crying. My youngest

two, Tyler-Morgan and Levi-Storm slept through it all. I was still

shaking when I was watching Jerry Springer later in the morning".

The people of Ipswich are a resilient community and evidence of a full

recovery can already been seen, with looting, muggings and car crime

    carrying on as normal.

The aid response from local charities has been swift. The Red Cross has

so far managed to ship 4,000 cases each of Bundy & Coke and PJ Durries

to the area to help the stricken locals. Rescue workers are still

searching through the rubble and have found large quantities of personal

belongings, which include Centrelink booklets, Bronco tee shirts, Acca

    Dacca

cassettes, Holden HSV bedding covers, Priceline jewellery and fine bone

    china from Bi-Lo.

The Red Cross seeks to raise money for food and clothing, to be

air-dropped as parcels for those unfortunate to be caught up in this

disaster. Donations of clothing are in demand. Items most needed include

baseball caps; tracksuit tops (his and hers); flannelette shirts

(female); footy socks; ugg boots; and any other items usually sold in

    "Op" Shops.

Food parcels may be harder to come by, but are needed all the same.

Required foodstuffs include, Pluto Pups (Dagwood Dogs), doner kebabs,

McDonalds, KFC, ice cream and cans of UDL Bourbon and Coke; Passion Pop

    and XXXX Bitter.

Charities are also accepting cash donations through any Liquorland

    outlet.

$0.25 buys a ball point pen for filling in compensation forms; $5.00

buys chips, sausages, gherkins, crisps and blue fizzy drinks for a

family of nine; $10.00 will buy a packet of Winfield Blues 25s and a

lighter to calm the nerves of those affected.

Aid agencies have requested that no tents be sent into the affected

suburb, as the sight of high socio-economic housing is unfair on the

    residents of neighbouring areas.

Hope this is the right section of the forum for this.

  6. Hey guys

As the title says i'm after a stock front bar for a S1 r33. The bar must be the stock silver colour with the dark grey lip. Like in my sig. Must be in great condition in QLD.

Otherwise, I've put a few light scratches on my front bar, how much would it cost to respray this and where would be the best place in brisbane??

    Cheers

  7. Okie Dokie

So get someone with one of those spacer pocket knife lookin things and get the spark plugs regapped. Then reset the ecu and all should run fine.

Can i safely up the boost to 12psi then, seeing as that's the limit for the stock turbo?

As for the other questions am i really going to notice it??

    cheers

P.S. Tried to change the RB20E thing but can't find where its located on my profile. I actually have a 1200kw twin turbo rb26dett in the shed but the stock r33's faster

  8. Hey guys,

I've got a bogstock r33 S1. No FMIC, no xhaust, no pod......Stock as factory....rare huh?

I've been reading the forums and did a few searches on the subject so its not just an off the cuff question, thought has gone in to this.

Anywayz i want to purchase one of these turbotech boost controllers and up the boost to 10psi. I'm under the impression that the ECU will adapt to this so long as i don't go over 10psi. Correct me if i'm wrong there. No carbon build up / det. etc.???

Will there be any damage to anything under the hood if i install this and up the boost?

Will this provide a noticably bigger difference in spool up, e.g. would it be on boost almost straight away?

Will 10psi make a huge difference, i.e. put my head back in the seat when i nail it?

  9. Hey guys,

I've had my r33 4 door for a while now and it hasn't stopped suprising me yet!! I've got this button in the console, next to the power/snow switch, and i've got no idea what it does. It does make a clicking sound like a relay though

    Any ideas??

    9bhb3r.jpg

Also, my rear wiper doesn't work nor does the rear window water squirter. Plus, its fitted with driving lights but doesn't have a driving lights swith on the indicator stalk?? Hows that work?

    Cheers

  10. Hi guys,

I just bought an r33 gts-t and it came fitted with a touch screen lcd headdeck. Now some of the writing on this headdeck is japanese however most of it is in English. I have two questions:

    1. Is it possible for this head deck to receive reception for australian tv via a booster or converter?? Right now it doesn't pick up any tv reception at all and the guy at autobarn said that it never will.

    2. It supposedly came with GPS, but the dvd-rom that was loaded in the headdeck only works for japan. Is it possible to buy an australian dvd rom for australia that would work in my head deck.

The head deck is a no name brand "NDKT-D52" <- only description on it.

    Cheers

    Matt
