Factory knock control is better than flashing light knock control, I think I may head this direction. I will chat more to you about your experiences with them next time I see you. Would need to track down a stock ECU too

I feel ya! after effing around with Skylines since 2004 I am starting to get jack of it. I think I will put one last big effort into getting my current car ship shape and if that doesnt float my boat I think it will be the end of skylines for me.

Haltech, Wolf and Vipec are all good options. I would choose my tuner, then my computer. Every tuner has a favorite and you tend to get a better result if you hand them their favorite to work with.

A few years ago I would have said the old trusty Power FC would be fine. However having seen a few people have trouble and close to 10 years of constant trouble with them I would say if you can afford it change to a Wolf or Haltech or something. Computers have come a long way since the power FCs inception and I would think long and hard about entrusting your very expensive engine to one. Also the datalogit is really only important if you plan on tuning yourself

No engine is fine, I just dont drive it anymore until the computer issue is fixed

A power FC pretty much is an atari, "oh hey, I am exploding your engine, but I wont do anything to fix it, here is a red light flashing just so you are aware your engine is getting junked.
