  1. Roy, who were you answering in your reply? You can't answer any of my second round of questions can you?
  2. Thanks Roy, a lot of good info there. The way I understand it, these brackets (the ones in the kit for the jza70) would have an offset of 44mm (like your adaptor on your skyline) so that the r32 GTST caliper will fit on the jza80 324mm rotor. So if I wanted to use R33 GTR calipers what I really want is brackets which are the same but dont have an offset as the calipers were already designed for 324mm rotors. Is this correct? I have been told by a few people that unfortunately the jza80 324mm rotors and calipers aren't a bolt on fit to the jza70. Jza70s and ma70's and i would say the soarers as well came with single piston calipers and smaller rotors neither of which are interchangeable with the jza80 braking components. The rotors require collars etc. to fit them to the jza70. As for the calipers I am not 100% sure that they dont bolt on but I really doubt that they would. The parts required to fit the jza80 rotors are in the latest zoom mag where martin donnan fits the kit i mentioned (with the jza80 rotors and Z32 calipers). Perhaps what I really need is someone to make both the parts to fit the jza80 rotors (I can probably get hold of designs for the parts involved) and while they're at it to knock up some brackets to fit the jza80 calipers as well. Who would be caplable of such a task? (it'd be nice if they were in Adelaide but I will buy from interstate). Thanks again.
  3. Thanks Ronin. Anybody know if the calipers are going to fit on these mounts? I've just thought of something also. The R33 GTS-T calipers have longer legs than the R32 and Z32 calipers (apart from that I beleive they are the same) and dont fit the brackets in the kit. Therefore I assume the 33 GTR calipers would also have these longer legs and wont the brackets either. With 32 GTR's not having 324mm rotors that only leaves 32 GTR V-specs that are 324 and fit on the brackets (hopefully). I cant imagine these are going to be real easy to find...... Anybody have any thoughts on what I should do here?? I'd really like 324mm rotors with large 4-piston calipers. My jza70 is a heavy car and will have over 300KW@wheels when I fit the twin hks t3g kit i have. I want to do some track work with it and really want it to pull up hard. Thanks.
  4. booster, I didnt realise the non v-spec 32 gtr's brakes weren't 324. Id like to fit calipers that will have a pad face to suit the 324mm rotor so I guess these are out of the picture. Anybody have any thoughts on what the r34 gt-t calipers would be like and if they would fit? (Although i would prefer to use the bigger calipers from the GTRs) in the kit i've seen (it's in the latest zoom mag) the z32/r32 gts-t calipers do use the full face of the pad on the 324mm jza80 rotor without modification to the caliper. I'm not sure about the bigger calipers not fitting over the spacer tho. You may be onto something there. Can anybody shed some light on this? Still like to know a rough price for these calipers also. Ronin, hopefully Roy or another braking guru spots this thread and imparts their wisdom.
  5. Hi all, I have a few questions I was hoping one of you nissan boys could answer for me. I have a jza70 supra that I am looking to upgrade the brakes on. A popular brake upgrade is using spacers and custom brackets (which are relatively easy to find and purchase) to fit the jza80 rotors (324mm x 30mm) and Z32 or R32 GTS-T 4-spot calipers. This doesnt appear to be a bad upgrade but I would like to go one better. You see, as you can imagine the Z32 calipers and pads dont cover the whole face of the large jza80 rotors. Therefore, obviously much more powerful braking can be had by using larger calipers. I beleive that R32 and R33 GTR's both V-spec and non V-spec (although the v-spec models have the brembo brakes) use 4-piston calipers with 324mm rotors. I was wondering if I bought a kit to fit these jza80 rotors and z32 calipers (the kits dont come with the rotors or calipers), would I be able to buy GTR calipers instead and use them? Would they be a bolt on fit to the brackets (are they a bolt on fit to an R32 GTS-T as I will have the same mounting holes once the brackets are fitted)? Would they work with the supra rotors like the z32 calipers do but simply use the whole face of the rotor? Does anybody know the rough cost of these GTR calipers, both the brembo ones and non brembo (sumitomo i believe). I realise they are fairly pricey but i dont know just how pricey they are. Thanks heaps guys, i've been searching high and low for these answers but I dont seem to be able to get concrete answers and I dont want to buy the GTR calipers only to have them not fit....
