    Qld Importers

Thanks for the replies guys, I have spoken to a few importers now but the level of service and effort that Mick from SVI has gone to has been excellent. I have punished him with questions and he has answered them all where others just couldnt be bothered. Looks like SVI for me Thanks for the rep's all Stink

    Qld Importers

Thanks for the reply Bunta, Yeah my main concern at this stage is other than the normal mechanical tests that they do when importing a vehicle, how do you know the vehicle is in good condition internally etc like they dont do pressure tests or anything like that do they? I mean sure the car may look fine and seem to be free from any major problems but i am in Townsville so i wouldnt be able to get any further mechanical testing done until i got it home and to find then that something major is wrong with it would gut me. Cheers Stink

    Qld Importers

Hi All, Just after any opinions on a couple of qld importers. SVI - Seem to be pretty genuine but everyone does before they get your money. Adrenalin Imports - Havent spoken to them yet Any recommendations on any other qld importers would be great. Cheers Stink
  4. HI All, Just wanted to know if anyone has used Special Vehicle Imports? I have been talking with one of the guys there and he seems very helpful and has given me a full rundown on the process of buying a vehicle through them. They are happy to let me have any vehicle independently checked out and have a written guarantee that if the vehicle has any faults that are not listed at the time of sale then they will repair free of charge. They are based in QLD to which assists me in registration etc. Cheers Stink
  5. HI all, I am trying a different tact this time as my last thread started a fuel price discussion lol. A 94-96 R33 Manual in good nick inside and out Stock as Stock can be reasonable k's 80 -100 How much would you pay? Where would you buy from local or OS? Private or Dealership? Recommendations on all of the above, i am in Townsville QLD so home state is preferable for rego etc THanks Stink
  6. HI All, I too am in the market for an R33, and although alot of vehicles have dodgy k's on the clock. It is also very possible to get one with minimal k's. My mates brother lived in Japan for 4 years, he had a car and only did 25000 k's over that period. He reckons everyone has cars over there but most people dont travel far at all just to or from work etc. THey are not travelling hours in cars everyday like we do. Obviously this is not the case for all but i do think thats its definately possible to get one with genuine low k's if you look hard enough and be patient. My theory is that most dodgy importers buy the high k ones cheap then wind them back and flog them off at an inflated price. Like alot of poeple have said "you get what you pay for".
  7. well i am in Townsville QLD, so the closest dealers for me are probably Brisvegas

  11. Thx Tony, Yeah i have seen quite a few on carsales.com etc that look great in pics and the comments are exactly what i want but its very hard to spend that money based on a photo. i suppose when the time comes i could try and get someone i know to have a look at a car on my behalf. And i always have the local RACQ/RACV?NRMA etc THanks again
  12. HI All, Well i have decided to take the plunge and get myself a performance car, i am heading towards an R33 series2. Now i have done a far bit of searching on the forums and probably have confused myself a bit. The car will be for everyday use to and from work etc which is about a 90k round trip all highway. Here are my questions 1. I have about 20k max to spend and would want a stock standard if possible, there seems to be quite a few around in oz. But is importing something to look at or are the costs to large? 2. I know performance car = bad fuel economy, but if i dry conservatively during the week is it possible to keep the fuel consumption under control? 3. What are the ongoing costs like for serviceing etc? are parts expensive? 4. I am in Townsville so either way i will be buying from a distance, any tips from people who have made a long distance purchase. Any advice on these things would be great, i thought who better to ask then people who have done it all before i.e You Guys!! THx Stink
