  1. From my readings it is recommended to block off the middle and restrict the rear orifice on a rb25/30 using vct.

Now what would happen if you blocked the rear and restricted the middle???

    brief specs are as follows

    standard oil pump

    1.5mm restriction (in middle)

crank case breather on intake side of sump above oil pick up

from my understanding as the front only feeds the vct module, by blocking the rear wouldnt that give better oil distribution and balance in the head???

How many orifices does the rb26 have and where are they located in comparison to the rb25 block. ive read they have one blocked off standard so im assuming they have 2, and for better balance the middle would be blocked- makes sense

  2. It's geting late??

It's 4.30 am here and I'm still reading the oil thread and other information and about to go crazy. Head is at machine shop waiting for the green light from me, I ordered the oil

Drain but realise I may not need it and will probably go for the sump vent set up... AHH f**k need to sleep, will respond to your post when i awaken. Thanks for your answers mate, much appreciated

  3. Thanks for whoring out my post guys lol

How bout we get back on track with some answers to the questions I posted (please) instead of raising more questions which need answers and more questions creating a domino effect where my domino is used like a bitch and has all the other pieces stacked up ontop of it..

    Just sayin

  4. Hi guys having some issues with excessive oil shooting into the head and subsequently filling up the catch can and pissing all over the engine when it's under load. When backing off aftet load it also shoots out a large rich ( orange ) flame and a few seconds later massive amounts of smoke ( that isn't black )

I have stripped the head off and suspicions come true as no oil restriction was used and there is no oil return from the back of the head. I have sent the head off to have it checked for peace of mind and valve seals replaced if need be.

    Heres the questions

    - I will be fitting a spool fitting to the rear of the head and returning it to the sump, I will also be returning the catch can to the sump. T'ing into the turbo lines is out of the question so I was wondering if I would need to weld separate fittings on the sump for the can and head return or can i simply T them up into the sump via a single (or double ended) fitting taking into mind the head will return a lot more oil than the can (hopefully) will this differnce be problematic?

-also can the large flame and subsequent smoke be a direct result of this excess oil in the head which is making it's way past the seals when it is under load?

  5. my questions werent really answered

im using xf tb coz im using a subzero plenum which is set up for that tb. and all my pipe works already done in 3" and its all perfect, i cant go back from here only forward..

so do you guys have answers or only criticism?

i have searched far and wide and have a rough idea but dont have definate answers for my questions.

  6. im using an xf throttle body on a subzero plenum in a rb25/30.

PROBLEM:i need to wire up the tps and am having some trouble

i have been doin some research on how this will work but can some please make this crystal for me.

these are the questions i need answered

1- is the rb30 tps the easiest way to make the xf tb work with rb25?? if not what is??

2- does the slot in the rb30 tps fit straight into xf tb??? because the rb25 tps definately will not.

3- does the rb30 tps have the exact same plug as the corresponding end of the rb25 series 2 harness?? ie will the rb30 tps clip straight into the rb25 harness???

if this can be clarified that would be very appreciated

  7. does anyone have solid info or a DIY tutorial on port and polishing?

what tools you need? recomendations? do's, dont's? etc???

not thinking of oversizing ports etc or polishing to a mirror finish, but just a nice clean up of cash marks and blemishes.

i was thinking of porting in and ex side of head, intake manifold runners, TB compressor housing, ex manifold.

BTW: i dont wona hear the answer leave it to the pros, so please pussy foot around in your own back yard, i wona tear mine up hahah

  8. discopotato03

turbo on there at the moment is the standard T3 vl turbo.

i need to know what other turbos (such as the rb20 or 25 t3s in particular) will fit DIRECTLY with no mod to lines or dump.

i pulled the blown vl turbo off today, from what i can see the dump is different to the 25 turbo, BUT the lines look exactly the same and come from the same/ similar location on the block and back of head.

so far im assuming the 25 turbo will bolt up to the manifold (obviously), and the lines should line up, but i will need a new dump made.

as for a 20/25 turbo not being big enough, thats not a major problem as i rather have the car running than not running, aand when i find a vl t3 i will fit it.

does anyone have actual experimental evidence with this situation, my searches have not been successful any help asap would be great

    thanks
