  1. Guys - last time you'll see me on these forums as well. Have to say sorry to the guys in the car with me - (i know sorry probably doesn't mean much to them) - i'm just glad they are all ok and that no one else was hit.
  2. I had only been using the car once a week just to keep it going. The 3 with me were potential purchasers, didn't know them at all. Gotta say i feel pretty rotten about it at the moment.
  3. Yep it was bad - there were 4 in the car - i was the only one trapped and hurt - it is morg's old car btw. Tyres were stone cold just tapped the brakes on the corner and it totally lost it. needless to say i will not be buying another gtr. for everyone speculating - i am not a teenager but 29 years old with many years of experience.
  4. Guys - that was my car - i was driving it. everyone walked away - thank god. i have cuts on my hand thats it.
  5. UPDATE - owning this for the last few weeks has convinced me that i would like to stay with a GTR. If anyone is still interested in a trade of their GTR + cash let me know. Please keep in mind that my wife needs to be able to drive the car as it is our second car so the clutch needs to be standard and no short shifter installed. Will still also sell the car for cash of course. Cheers Jono
  6. Guys, Sorry for all the non-replies to the PMs i've had in regards to this car - i've just had a four day holiday in Ayers Rock with the missus and arrived back this evening. I will reply to everyone tonight. Cheers Jono
  7. There is nothing wrong with the car. As i have said to others - if you want to come out have at look at the car, speak to me about it and have your mechanic check it over than i am more than happy for you to do that. send me a pm if your interested. I also understand anyone being cautious about buying any car. if you have read the first part of the thread i am not going to try and explain to everyone individually online as to every reason i'm selling this. If you want to discuss with me over the phone then let me know and i'll pm you my mobile number. At this price i'm losing a bit of money, however, i accept that as being my luck - i now have a company car as per above and the GTR is just sitting in the garage. Cheers Jono Cheers Jono
  8. The brakes are DBA 4000 series rotors front and rear with fereodo pads. The gear box is R32 GTR standard, also it has the heaviest clutch i have ever experienced (hence the reason my wife can't drive it).
  9. Guys this one is still available - i'm becoming pretty negotiable on the price $ 28k ono so if you're interested let me know.
  10. for anyone interested the price on this is now $28,000 ono - i need the space in my garage my work supplied me with a company car this week (Fairmont Ghia - never thought i'd drive one of these) and the GTR is really no longer needed. PM me if your interested. Jono
  11. ok sorry, my bad. too be honest i had not completely made up my mind in regards to trades until i first posted this thread. that is why i wrote i will consider trades as i was not sure what people will offer. i am actually looking for a car for my wife as well at the moment so if a trade was offerred that would suit her instead of me then i would seriously consider it (she won't drive a gtr though:) please understand that the reason i have come across as being frustrated is only because i have tried to be very straight up with people with the reasons i am selling for and it is very frustrating having to deal with a million queries and comebacks. I apologise for offending you but saying that i have not been honest is just not fair. It may happen that i have just not given you a reply as lengthy as someone else. sorry for this but i have reposponded to ALL the PMs i have received and replies will vary as i'm not cutting and pasting from one to the next. I understand the points though and will put general replies to queries about the car in the main for sale thread and only reply via pm either discussing price or at someone else's request.
  12. The reception i've had from a few people (PM's) when i have told them that i'm a little too short to be driving one of these is nothing short of crazy - it is the friggin truth! It does not change the fact that this is a fantastic car for the right buyer - i can't understand why there are all the sceptics - if you actually came and looked at the car instead of trying to shoot people down online for no reason then you would see that the thing is still in exactly the same condition as when Morgs had it. Obvoiusly for anyone whose genuinely interested in this i am more than happy for them to arrange a full mechanical inspection of the vehicle before laying any cash down. The only reason it's actully up on this site is that i've learned a lot from the "community" here and thought i'd give the chance to own this to SAU members before it goes to a dealer and has a sticker price of 35k again.
  13. I have also replied to a couple of people via PM and stated that one of the main reasons i'm selling it is that i'm paranoid about theft. I really didn't think i'd feel that way (previous car was a 32 gtst) and it is insured comprehensivly, however i just don't want to be worrying about my car 24hrs day. I will consider cash offers near to 30k, it's probably going to be traded at a dealer sometime in the near future otherwise.
  14. Cheers Jono I recently bought the green R32 GTR as per the thread linked below. Unfortunately, as it turns out, i am not in a position to keep this at the moment (it just doesn't fit in comfortably with my work requirments) so is up for sale again. The car is still exactly the same as first advertised in this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...80&hl=green If you're interested let me know (PM), asking price is $30,000.00 firm and I will consider trades plus cash.
  15. For anyone curious - i did as per above with the vacuum hose to stop the stock BOV opening and let the HKS one take over. It worked. Car makes a flutter noise when released at low revs and a loud whoosh at high revs. I have now decided that this is all too loud for me so the HKS BOV will be removed completely. Thanks to everyone who help me figure this out. And i have a 2nd hand HKS BOV for sale if anyone''s interested:)
  16. as an experiment could i place a block in the vacuum hose for the stock BOV - this should then stop the stock BOV working altogether and the HKS one will work instead? Then if i decide i do not like the HKS one or the car does not run well, just remove the block to the stock BOV and the HKS BOV completley and be back to normal.
  17. Thanks for they reply LANFOH. I can't believe they wanted to avoid running this thing rich as according to the Apexi RSM the air fuel ratio's don't actually ever get above 10:1 and most of the time sit at about 8:1 - i am getting this tuned with the next two weeks (i'm they guy from a thread a couple of months back that gets only about 200kms to a tank). Still would rather remove the original one if it's at all possible due to the high pitched whistle it makes. Does anyone have any info on how to do this and block it up easily?
  18. So i guess that this (in red) is the stock blowwoff valve? Why the heck would they leave it in if they install an aftermarket one too!!?? Is this easy to remove and block off the pipework where it's attached? Really want it off as it emits a LOUD whistle noise when the accelerator is lifted which is damn annoying. Some of the things done with this car (straight from Japan) absolutely mystify me ( the JIC coilovers being the first - which were so friggin hard it's not funny and are now replaced with a set of Bilsteins:) and the set of actual large box stereo speakers sitting on the rear seat hooked up to the radio ( i have photo's as proof of this one) - what were they thinking?!
  19. Ok, i'll post up another shot of more of the engine tomorrow morning - thanks for the input so far
  20. I have just realised that the BOV on my car is not working at all. I'm pretty sure it's a HKS Sequential. I had thought (since i've had this car straight from Japan) that it was working, as the car emits a loud whistle when the accelerator is lifted - this turned out not to be the BOV though, as the car still makes this noise with the BOV completely removed from the engine bay and a straight piece of pipe put in it's place. I have read literaly about 50 threads to try and find out what's wrong. Have already tried the adjusting screw on the back of it and even wound completely out it does not seem to work at all. All i can think is that vacuum hose that runs in the top is not connected to the correct place. In the pic it's where it was when the car arrived - is this correct? it currently joins the top (thicker) hose of the 2 that run to the front of the engine bay. Should i try another location ? My intercooler piping does not have the little piece on it that lets the hose connect to it directly.
  21. I installed a fmic in mine last week too (r32 gtst) - same thing happened with the stalling. But it only did this for about 5 mins - then one of the silicon hoses blew off the piping. Turns out it was just not done up tight enough at one of the joins (must have missed it somehow in the rushed check:) Anyway, once the connector was done up properly the stalling is gone and the idle sounds much better too. I'd check the connections, especially if one's got a bubble in it.
  22. I would also appreciate it if anyone can shed some light on krush's install above (the R32). I'm looking to do mine asap and want to make sure it's right. Cheers to Mark by the way on the quick delivery - paid on Monday last week and received Thursday last week in Sydney.
  23. OK, for those interested here is what happened: Every thread and everyone in here points towards the oxygen sensor as being a major cause for the bad fuel consumption so i thought - it's only 90 bucks, i'll just replace it and see how i go. Headed down to Autobarn Chatswood, the guy there tells me that the ONLY replacement for my car (1989 gtst) is the factory one at about $600 (not sure how true this is). Decide against buying this and end up going home with some CO2 spray and injector clearer for the grand total of $25. Took off the air filter and the AFM - cleaned the AFM with litteraly the whole can of spray and left to dry before putting it all back together. (do NOT use the spray while the car is on:) Tanked up and added the injector cleaner. My car is now getting over 400kms from a tank, considering this is from a starting point of 180kms per tank it is a massive improvement for $25 - ie the cost was saved within a week. Worth a try for anyone else with the fuel issue before going and replacing parts.
