  1. Hi Dude I was quite particular about the battery being a sealed unit as well and wanted to find one as close as to the original one that came with my R33 SII as well. Unfortunately to get one like the original jap one is virtaully impossible and even if I could I was told they cost about 3 time more in price With this being the case I rang around got the low down on batteries and then spoke to a mob called Battery World and got a top of the range that was a sealed unit identical in size & with the breather hole. It came to about $130 cash. I got them down in price by paying cash and to make sure that the battery was the same size I brought the original one down to compare. It's been in the car for about a year and works just like a treat. To boot it came with a 3 year warranty as well One other thing I found these days they don't refer to plates any more but cold cranking. I can't remeber what my was but at the time it was about the highest you could get. So I suggest you ring around and get prices and make sure you get the best you can afford without being ripped.
  2. Hi Guys I recently removed a EXEDY/NISMO twin plate clutch, which I'm looking to sell. Brand new its worth about $5,500, it comes complete with titanium pressure plate and flywheel. It will fit both R33 GTS-T and R33 GTR. FYI information it came off my R33 GTS-T Series II The only thing that needs to be done are that the Nismo clutch plates which can be reco'd, for around $500 at the most. Please note that I replaced the clutch b/c my wife found it hard to drive the car and could not get used to it take up rate. This type of clutch would be very good for any Hi po skyline and for race track use Anyway I'm looking at around $1250 ONO for it. If anybody is interested drop a line in this forum. Regards NISGTS Greensborough

  5. Thanks for the response. I'm led to undertand that the increase in k/w is at the top end, and that the freer and less restrictive the flow the less back pressure, this in turn neccessitates less response and and bigger turbo lag. I would appreciate feed back from any one who has undertaken the dump/front pipe with a hi flo cat, to see if their has been better throttle response and less turbo lag. The issue with some of the dyno figures that are given and the gains attributted to the dump and hi flo cat is that it focuses on top end and the k/w gain going flat out, at hi to maximum rpm. A good street car is one that can give the best overall response, and linear torque through out the rev range, not just a large burst.
  6. Hi Guys - May be someone out there has a conclusive answer, to the question as to whether throttle response and mid range torque is scarificed for top end when installing a 3" dump/front pipe and hig flo cat. I've heard some conflicting reports but basically 2 exhaust guys have now said that I will increase turbo lag and scarifice throttle response by opting for a 3" dump/front pipe and hi flo cat. They have said that that the 3" dump/front pipe and hi Flo cat will really only give better top end improvement but I'm not interested in this as I want the car to have good throttle response and less turbo lag. If what they say is true then it may be bettter for me to spend the money on an APEXI FC ECU which would give a better all round result FYI - I have a R33 GTST series II with a NISMO 3.5 " cat back s/s exhaust, the car is currently running a turbosmart boost controller (ie on about 9psi), K&N Panel Filter, ligthened flywheel, GFB Stealth BOV and a NISMO hevay duty clutch . The car runs fanstically and is very street drivable. The guy who previously owned the car in japan worked for NISMO and I'm thinking that for the reason increased turbo lag that this may explain whay he did not run a Full Exhaust on the car. I would appreciate any INPUT from those who have undertaken the dump/front pipe and hi flo cat to their R33 GTST Thanks NISGTS
