  1. FordXR6T doesn't need to go out of his way to prove anything to make a few of you guys happy. It's your choice if you want to believe him or not and it's his choice how far he wants to go in proving his point. He's probably put a lot of effort into getting that much power and wants to keep his mods to himself so he can have one of the fastest xr6t's on the road. Either way the guy deserves a break. However I must admit I did enjoy reading the flaming sessions.
  2. 9 years is crap. Like skylineGeoff said, people get much less for doing much worse crimes 'intentionally'. Most people have done stupid things before on the roads in their lifetime and it's just unlucky that this guy lost it and killed his friends. I guess the sentence could reflect the message that the authorities want to send across. I guess it could be seen as a test case to scare the shit out of those who are willing to take these risks. I'm pretty sure if the guy appeals, his sentence will be reduced. 2 years in jail + lost of license for 2 years is what I think he should get.
  3. Those guys should be hung. I am so lucky I haven't had my car keyed so far. It would make me so furious. They do it intentionally unlike those who accidentally dent your cars. I never go to shops and never park my car in unis/city car parks. Just too paranoid. My gf parked her old crappy lantra at the front of the house and some fker walked on top of the car and concaved the roof during the night.
  4. I think it's good value if you consider all the engineering certification they have put there mods through.
  5. I'll be happy with just a AMG CLS55. Not too greedy here.
  6. 15K on a first car is pretty good. Someone is spoilt. I drove a 86 toyota corona then moved onto a 82 honda accord in the povo uni days. Wish I had your problem when buying my first car
  7. What do you expect from a luxobarge? The car weighs 2 tonne. I haven't heard anyone trying to compare a statesman to a skyline.
  8. Software is called VCM Suite which is pretty much the same as the EDIT but written by another company. I think putting a twin turbo kit on my car would be getting a bit ridiculous for suburban use.
  9. I think you have been lucky so far. The time will come when you will meet someone worthy enough. I have not been beaten by a skyline yet(on a private road of course) but doesn't mean there aint a heap out there that would have me for dinner. In regards to the warranty issue, I think those guys who want the extra power will just go ahead with the edit. Most effective mod for those cars and if anything goes wrong they can always flash there cpu with the original program before handing it back to the dealer. That's what I have done with mine. Very cheap power and it seems to be enough for now. Maybe when warranty expires I'll add Cam/headers etc. APS mods cost a bagful. One of the reasons why they charge a premium is because they have got engineering certificates for their mods.
  10. That's pretty low of them to do that. I witnessed some guy driving a trailor in a small car park. He didn't take the trailer into consideration when making a turn. Trailer hit a parked car and the driver actually saw this and kept driving to cause more damage. No effort to reverse and redo the turn. Lucky I was there to jot down his details If you start being responsible and help others then eventually others will do the same thing if it happens to you.
  11. Of course there are a lot of people full of crap on this forum and advice should not end here. However it's nice to know that there are guys supporting him in this difficult time on the forum. Gives people a bit of peace of mind discussing these things.
  12. I wouldn't agree that most of them are wealthy business man. Depends what you define as wealthy I guess. If I was wealthy I'd get a porsche/m3/amg. Those cars have been around for awhile and they're not that expensive on the 2nd hand market.
  13. I see you managed to shave .4 seconds off your 1/4 mile time. Congrats Xr6T.
  14. Hi mate. I think you should stuff the lawyers for now. First step is to write to the dealer expressing your issue and tell them that they have breached the TPA for misleading and deceptive conduct. Also tell them that if they fail to assist, you will be forced to contact the ACCC. Australian competition and consumers commission. They help consumers in these sorts of situations. I have done this before and the supplier immediately called me and gave me a refund. Try this first as lawyers will cost you. Also do not drive the car if you have already taken delivery. Good luck mate.
