  1. Trust your mechanic, but always keep an eye on him, I say. I changed mine at home with my mechanic friend (he did most of the work). It was really tough to remove the old ones, as it appeared to have fused itself to into the metal. Good luck.
  2. What do you mean the O2 sensor isn't registering properly? I changed sensor a few months ago. I can't say I've seen any noticeable difference. I did it to see if the fuel consumption would get any better. Sadly, no luck. PS: I got mine from the City Nissan in Auckland (perhaps too far away from you), for about NZ$250.
  3. Hi all, I will be spending the weekend of July 14-16 in Brisbane. I am just wondering what sort of motorsports activities I can expect around town? Any ideas, suggestions?
  4. I need the boot lid and rear bumper. The rear right tail lights if you still have them?
  5. Hi Fellas, I got into an accident today and this A**hole, bumped me from behind. Anyway, the rear bumper and the boot lid suffered a bit of damage and minor damage to the rear right side tail lamp. I need to get either new/unused parts or used factory originals. Mine's a 4 door R34 GTT,1998 model - see attached pic of my machine. If any of you guys have anything or point me in the right direction...
  6. The R34 GTT parts for sale are for the 2Dr. or the 4Dr. model?
  7. Infact, it wasn't me, but a mechanic friend who figured it out for me.
  8. Well I've done the near impossible. Changed the bulb. I cannot believe it was as simple as twisting the rear end parklight and pulling it out. Here I was trying first to unplug the connecting wires, by pulling it straight back. Stupid me! My old corolla was a lot more intuitive I must say.
  9. I still haven't gotten around to it yet. For me I guess I'll just have to take the battery out and try to emulate Houdini.
  10. I'll give it a try braddo. I may have to unplug the battery first.
  11. Unfortunately it isn't as simple as getting in the rubber flaps and twisting the bulb out. It isn't the head light I am talking about. It's the parklight. It's the one right on the outside and there are no rubber flaps covering it. It looks inaccesible. I'll see if I can get some pictures of it tomorrow.
  12. Hi Guys, I need to change the front parklight bulb in my 4 door R34 GTT. I just can't find an easy access to remove the bulb. Do I have to unscrew the whole headlight unit to get to it? Anyone's found an easier way? Sarnil
  13. Hi Fellas, Can anyone recognise this button? I will spend time tracing the wiring for it this weekend, but I thought I should ask around... A bigger version of the image can be seen here http://flickr.com/photos/ssp/109911917/
  14. As a matter of fact you're right Tangles. The performance difference for an auto when compared to a manual would probably be barely noticeable unless you're on a track.
  15. Yep and that too...
  16. I think I'll give the trade a miss, thank you. The guage was fitted in Japan and done beautifully. Almost as good as being fitted at the factory.
  17. Hmmm... had no idea it wasn't stock. I presumed it was factory fitted. Infact, I bought car as it was, not knowing a whole of the mods that it had been through. All I had known were the after market air intake, exhaust, etc. The body kit was quoted as factory standard option.
  18. Hi paulsid, I don't see any GTR lip on my car. Is this the car you're talking about? http://static.flickr.com/28/35179278_4a7d91b414.jpg?v=0 As for the mileage. I get about 400 - 420 k's for highway driving and between 300 and 380 for city driving. Lately it's been giving me lower figures which leads me to conclude that my Lambda sensor is probably buggered. The guys at www.lambdasensor.com will only ship to anywhere in Europe. I am talking to a guy in Japan so hopefully I'll get something positive from him. Under 300 k's; yep I've gotten that a couple of times, city driving. Happens if I'm stuck in heavy traffic.
  19. Sorry guys, My car is boosting so much and drinking so much petrol, I'd be considered rich if I had any spare change left after every refuel. I'd actually be able to feed myself with that spare change. So air tickets and free meals for you fine gentlemen and your g/f's will have to wait a little bit longer. I have though fully grasped the idea behind the workings of my boost guage and am thankful to you all. But if any of you ever come down to this fine country on your own expense, then do let me know and I'd be happy to get together for a couple cold ones.
  20. Great explanation guys. Makes a lot more sense now. So it's all about the huffing/puffing action then? You see I wasn't much of a car enthusiast and my hobby had been writing programs, etc. Now that my hobby is my day job, I've gotten into cars. A late bloomer, but always willing to learn. Here in Fiji, there's not too man people you can learn from, so I have revert to this group.
  21. OK. Will do the read for between 4500-5000 as recommended. Will post the results no doubt. The decision to have my Skyline even without the left pedal and extra two doors was a long, hard and an agonising one, I assure you. In the end, the wifey won and I still got to have a skyline. I guess it's still better then any other alternatives, don't you reckon?
  22. I guess what I was really looking for was for someone to volunteer to explain to me why my boost guage is setup as it is. I understand that anything over the 0 mark is what would be boosting at, but what about the numbers below the zero? Why do they have different scale?
  23. Thanks Johnny, That was a lot more helpful. Apologies for the unclear phrasing of my question. I guess I've got the deserved amount of ridicule for that :-(
  24. Johnny, If I knew, I wouldn't be asking. Given you know, perhaps you could tell me the conversions I am asking for. My boost guage reads in kg/cm2 and mm/Hg. Which is what? And what do they mean.
  25. Unfortunately, I don't have a far left pedal. Gosh it must be missing ;-) I forgot to mention, but mine's a auto/tiptronic model. Anyway, so what formula do I apply to provided I get red stick reading at an instance of speed?
