  1. Im after a Blitz Lm intercooler kit with all brackets etc in excellent condition for my 1996 R33 skyline. The one which uses stock piping route thanks.
  2. Just want to mention its come to my attention that installing these kits can cause legal problems with insurance etc because your not allowed to cut into the chassis or reinforcement bar which you need to do to fit these kits. Correct me if im wrong. sorry for hi jacking but something to consider when piping your fmic.
  3. Having a FMIC wouldnt help heatsoak when having an exposed pod right?? worse comes to worse i guess go to UAS and buy there air box and snorkel.
  4. Ive got a bone stock R33 skyline with only a 3 inch turbo back exhaust which is running pretty well The thing is i have collected some parts to modify my car (ebc, fuel pump, fmic etc). Im going through this site and the amount of threads of people who have lighly modified there cars and have had problems is frightening. Missfires and knocking problems. Im starting to think is it worth it??
  5. 14 psi on a stock R33 turbo??? who told you that?? turbo wont last that long. On the safe side i wouldnt boost past 10psi. R33 ecu's have been known to crap themselves even at 10psi.
  6. Hey I reckon you check your TPS (throttle position switch) this can be affected. 14 psi is too much on a stock turbo turn the boost down to 10psi to be safe. Your pod filter would probs be causing probs too cause its sucking in hot air. Id suggest get some kind of aftermarket ecu or atleast fuel controller piggyback. If you search you'd see this is covered tonnes of times. good luck mate hope it all works out hate hearing of a unhealthy R33. also go to a mechanic and get a consult plugged into your car and when your car starts to hunt they'll tell ya exactly whats up.
  7. funny enough id like to know where the ecu is on a r33 also
  8. Hey got the oil prob out of the way. To get rid of the sticky lifters which i believe is cause the lifter noise upon start up im thinking of using wynns oil flush. Ive heard some conflicting stories about these products what does the skyline faithful think about them. Im sure it would help the prob but is it safe???
  9. I dont think he's imagining it. His just sucking in hot air from the engine bay which is creating heat soaking hence lower power!!! nothing beats the stock air box!!! you want some induction sound get a fmic.
  10. Hmmmm for a R33 skyline with 91,000km think it would be safe and not too thin to use this mobil 0w40. Maybe the low cold viscosity would eliminate the lifter noise when cold which is the only time i can hear em.
  11. The Mobile 1 is a 5W50. Im currently using penrite hpr 10 as penrite has recommended it and its a 10W50 car seems to love it. I thought id use a synthetic and see if it helps the lifters as there abit noisey upon start up.
  12. Personally a R33 gtr Fuel Pump for around $250.00 is cheap insurance if you wanna go 200kw. Like everyone said aftermarket ecu for tuning (helps heaps!!!!!!!) and an upgraded intercooler if you cant afford a FMIC just get a stock R34 smic and should be good for your power figures.
  13. Hey ive got 1996 R33 with 92,000 km on the clock. Im thinking of using Mobil 1 5W-50 any good??? Its got some wank factor supersyth stuff but i dont really care. Mobil recommends this for newer and older cars so im thinking this would be great for my 11 years old line. Ive been told sythetic oils could be too thin for my skyline what are the forum opinions on this??? Lifter are a little noisy when car is cold would this quieten them thanks
  14. Maybe invest in one of those ramp type things where you can just drive your car on to them and not worry bout jacks.
  15. Yeah this would be good but then that involves the slicing and dicing of my ecu.
  16. After 3 years of owning my R33 and having it stock standard besides a turbo back exhaust ive decided to do some slight modifications and after reading all the informative information through the years have come up with this list. My parts list so far R34 SMIC SAFC 2 R33 GTR fuel pump Exedy organic clutch The judge is still out on the boost control option im stuck between a R32 wastegate actuator or EBC. If I go the actuator would the care still go good even though its going to be 5psi on low rpms then 10psi on higher pms??? I dont really want to slice and dice the electronics of the car to take off the two stage system. So any opnions would be appreciated. Also anything else you guys suggest I should do also. Thanks
  17. Will there be SAU stickers aswell???????????
  18. If anyone has one of these lying around without controller and want to get rid of it send me a pm and we'll work out a price. thanks. Must be in great working order.
  19. hahaha you sound like me I need to have everything running neatly too. Ohwell see how I go.
  20. Im going for sure!!!! I'll be there on Sunday. Im going to stop off at the SAU and check out the lines and check out what wonderful things I can do to my skyline. See you guys there.
  21. what lifter treatment you use?? Was it the nulon stuff?? My mechanic used it and still does it when car is cold. at the moment the car is stock standard but thinking of doing some mods is it still ok to do or should i fix it up firstly??
  22. Aww ok then. So yeah is replacement of the lifters the way to go. Ive gone through the website and searched and tried the remedies such as try all different types of oils hasnt worked, tried using a lifter free solution not worked. what else can be done.
  23. Hey all just checking when i start the car and while its still cold i hear a ticking sound which i have been told can be lifters or can be injectors. How can you differentiate between the two??? just curious. Oh the ticking noise goes once car is warm.
  24. Yeh 14psi would be too much for a stock turbo, too be safe 10psi would be the max id go.
