  1. Awesome Russel. I'm at a dead end tryign to work out the sync and slotted triggers for each cylinder. Cheers, Ian
  2. Does anyone have a base ECU map for an RB20/25 engine? Specifically what I am chasing is the trigger configurations for a wolf 4 plus, that will allow me to use the standard nissna trigger disc. If anyone could help out it would be appreciated! Cheers, Ian
  3. That was the first thing I checked... its definatly the air con clutch drawing too much current blowing the air con clutch fuse. And the signal that comes from the ECU to control the compressor appears to be rooted. I'm going to test fire the relay from under the dash on the ecu signal out cable tonight. If the relay works then it means the output on the factory ecu has been blown up. No big deal though because ill be controlling the aircon compressor from the Wolf ecu soon.
  4. Does anyone know where I might find the wiring diagrams for the r32 GTS4 (R32GTST) ecu. Specifically I need wiring colours and functions. I'm doing my parallel wire in of my wolf ecu this weekend and would prefer to not have to trace every wire using signal generators! Cheers, Ian.
  5. Howdee everyone, My aircon clutch keeps blowing the fuses. I'm not sure why either. It might be that too small a fuse is installed. I have no idea what the correct size fuse is for the clutch...? Also, it would appear that some amater auto elecky has been messing with the system because the relay that normally fires the clutch isn't firing either. I have tested the relay, no problems. I have tested the clutch by hard wiring it to power, no problems, but it does draw some pretty heavy current. Probably about 12 amps at a guess. I have measured power at the relay box on the relay coil side and its ok, but when the aircon switches on, the computer/climate control or whatever that switches the relay isn't turning on the relay. The volts on the -ve side of the relay coil don't drop to 0v, so the relay doesn't switch. Is it the factory EFI ECU that controls the aircon, or is it the climate control box that directly fires the relay..? Cheers, Ian
  6. Depends on what resources you have access to. I've got access to waterjet and plazma cutters as well as cad gear. I make flanges all the time. I also tig weld and have made turbo headers before so its no big deal for me. I'd need another manifold to trace the flang off. I might be able to source one locally tho, thanks for the ideal PHaT MR30. I didn't think of doing it that way...
  7. Does anyone have a to scale autocad drawing of the RB20/25 exhaust flange so that you can get them waterjet cut and make your own headers? Cheers, Ian
  8. Howdee everyone, Just curious to know what kind if 1/4 mile times fellow GTST4 owners are getting with their stock and modified RB20DET engines. Post up your time and your mod list if possibe. Cheers, Ian
  9. AC is easy to fix... I worked this out for a s13 i wired about a month ago. found the output wire for the climate control that triggers the aircon compressor, hooked that thru the wolf input, and then had the wolf output control a relay that fired the compressor. The wolf can then turn off the compressor above 4500 rpm and 6lb boost. works a treat! As for loosing AWD, well you could wire it to a switch probably and switch it on and off selectively.. but it wouldn't work as well as the ecu controlled option. Thus why i want to wire in the wolf in parallel.
  10. Hi everyone, Well the modificaitons are about to begin to my GTST4. I've prepared the shopping list and modification list... Here it is... GTR 440 cc injectors 040 pump Malpassi 1:1 fuel pressure reg (I've already got this from my other car) top mount manifold GT2871 turbo 0.86/0.7 600x300x76 front mount Custom plenum with factory throttle body Custom alloy plumbing Splitfire coils Wolf ECU V4 plus My goal is 220-240kw atw. Now the reason I wasn to run the wolf is that I know this ecu inside out, get a really good result with the tune and wire in the ecu with no problems at all. So now the questions... Has anyone here ever wired in an aftermarket ECU in parallel to the factory ECU before? The reason I want to do this is that the factory ECU is responsible for controlling the HICAS, AWD and ABS. I want to keep these features. So I figured if I install the wolf temp sensors, and parallel wire the trigger sensor and throttle position sensors, and then hijack the injector driver and ignition signals I'd have a workable solution. I'd did discover the other day when checking my air cleaner the affect of leaving the MAF sensor unplugged from the stock ecu (rich and 2500 rev limit). Would this be ok to leave unplugged fromt he stock ecu if i'm using the WOLF ecu for fuel/igniton? Is there anything else i've overlooked here? Any other thoughts or suggestions for my project? Cheers! Ian
  11. Hi Everyone, Well i've got the car in the garage now. Picked up my RB20DET powered GTST4 from townsville an drove back to cairns today. The car ran pretty well, until i'd run the first 100k's, and then it started having its first issues.... It seems that its dropping ignition in at least 1 maybe 2 cylinders. I've already spoken with a few people and they say its probably the ignitor coil packs. The funny thing i've since found out is that the don't play up if the engine is cold or warm. Only when its fully up to temperature does it really start to miss. So tomorrow i'll be swapping plugs, oil change, filter changes, diff oil change, and see how things look after that. Anyone have any other suggestions about my ignition issue? Could it also be the ignitor module thats mounted on the rocker cover?
  12. Thanks fella's. Definatly doing the full service first up. I hope what oils to use are in those threads somewhere....
  13. I was thinking a blocked off cat maybe, or possibly leaking intake from the compressor thru the intercooler to the throttle body. Or even a head to turbo exhaust leak but that would be causing lag as well as crap top end.
  14. Great Thread! Taking delivery of my GTS4 tomorrow.
  15. Hi Everyone! I've just bought my first skyline. An R32 GTST 4 with RB20det. Its completely stock and un modified except for some dodgy no brand named BOV. I am already thinking of what to modify on the car. I have a lot of experience in performing one of modifications and some tuning to imports(ecu installation and tuning, turbo swaps, header and intercooling system fabrication etc), but i've never owned one. So when someone says (tune it to 20lb) well I do, but I don't really know the limits of what the car can handle. So, what are the limits of the GTST4? I figure i'll have to put a decent clutch into it at some stage so that will probably happen first. Then I'm thinking plenum, front mount intercooler, manifold and turbo and perhaps 15lb boost? Then perhaps an aftermarket ecu and a set of 550cc injectors. So how much boost can I crank into this sucker before i start bending rods and smashing pistons? How much power can I make before I start breaking diffs and gearboxes? I'm thinking i'll use a gradual electronic boost control system to ramp up boost gradulally after shifting gears so its a little more gental on the box. All thoughs and suggestions are welcome!
