  1. Well I don't know if its called a GTS25 in a sedan but the sedan does come with the RB25DE afaik. A few reasons are: *not really after to much performance *insurance costs at my age - im just assuming they will be a fair bit higher then with the non turbo *price, generally they seem to sell for lower more reasonable prices from what i've seen I mean if there was a good deal on a RB20DET i'd still be interested but at the 10kish mark its not really on my radar to much. I don't have 10k to spend at the moment (buying car out in full so no loan's) and I don't think its worth it for me to pay that kinda money for something I don't need when I could just keep saving and get something newer reasonably quickly.
  2. Hey, sorry if this has been covered but there is 213 pages so a bit to much to look through. Just wondering the differences between using an RB25 head on an RB30 and just boaring out a RB25 to 3L. The RB25 block is shorter isn't it? but is there any power differences etc, which would be better basically. If you don't wanna reply to me a page number would be great so I can at least check out what has been covered before. Thanks.
  3. Hey, Basically I haven't had much luck finding any ok prices for a 32 sedan. Going for a GTS25 (the RB25DE) manual. Any idea where to look or know any up for sale? Thanks. (yes i've seen the silver one that was formally an RB20DET now with an RB25DE VCT, thats the first one i've seen for ages that could be ok and not asking like 10k for an old non turbo engine)
  4. Yeah i'd like to know this as well.
  5. To bad I find the 4 door 33 so ugly : looking for a 32 sedan but 33's are cheaper lol.... Good luck with the sale.
  6. lol yeah yeah... thought about that but meh i don't even have a car and thought some1 might want them cause they went cheap. 51 bucks or something lol.
  7. Lol I know this is could a bit dodgey but its a set of RB26 camshafts on ebay that have ~ 45,000km's on them and the guy is selling them for BID +20 postage. Current Bid is 20.50 in case anyone was interested. I bid on it but I don't actually need them and woulda just tried to sell them on lol and I don't know what I'm doing so yeah... Only 2hrs left.. linky EDIT: He doesn't say no reserve so i'd say he has one on them as going for sub 50 bucks would suck I imagine. EDIT2: just realised this may be against the forum rules if it is just delete the thread... I don't think I like the idea of being banned.
  8. Well car is in at trojan and had asked the dude to do the check up, compression test etc but now my dad wants it done at his mechanic ...cause its his mechanic.. basically. lol... so just getting a quick check up and written info on what the guy at trojan knows/has done to it run over there and pay him for me being a troublesome turd lol and then organise a time to see my dad's mechanic... ugh it sux living at home sometimes. He has never bought a car that was more then 4 years old at the time and thinks all old cars will fall apart and have endless problems... unless his mechanic says its ok... the one he has been going to for a whole 6 months and doesn't actually know just leaves his car there and comes back serviced... Not being a dick I see where he is comming from... but yeah im the son and have to give the father shit. lol oh well...
  9. Piccys of the car Geordie listed it on SAU with some new pics. Thats the car i'm talking about. No pics of the dent in the hood near the front right head light but oh well. Doesn't look to bad at all in those pics but there were quite a few little rusted nicks on the front end and on the area around the sun roof opening. He seems like a pretty straight guy from what i've seen of him. Which is harder and harder to find with all the turds selling rubbish these days. You can see what I mean about the steering wheel though. EDIT: 4500 in cash may be a bit low but at least its a good starting point, no way i'd pay 6800.
  10. ugh back lol, sry net was out for the weekend... will see about getting this car checked out this week, the sellers 32 GTR is in one of the shops I am looking at getting it checked out lol. I guess I don't really have anything more for this thread until the car gets checked out.
  11. that sucks, lol i live right near erindale 2. Wanted an s14 but could barely afford to buy one and adding on full comp insurance was just to much. Any idea who owns that white R33 with P plates that sits in the woolies car park often? Seen a relatively nice S14 out front of the PCYC, was up for sale is all I remember and had a tan interior retrim. And can someone tell that dude with the orange soarer to get a respray with decent looking paint. Anyways bad luck, but I suppose thats life if u fix it up and want to give it to me i'll give you my contact details
  12. Hey again, sry net was out for the weekend... Some dude I know with a 33GTR said try J Racing but i've heard they are pretty average. Heard Trojan were ok and the guy that im looking to buy the 32 off has his GTR in there atm. Which is better Trojan or this Ed chap at Integra Automotive? How much does a complete check up cost i've never had this done before. EDIT: and yeah I want a COMPLETE checkup, everything within reason checked to make sure. I don't wanna buy this 'fine' car and turns out tard of a mechanic missed a bunch of tiny things that end up costing me another 2 grand. I'm young damnit and money doesn't come fast when you work at woolies.
  13. Hey, in another part of the forums put up a thread about a car i've looked at and wondering if I do go ahead with getting a mechanic to check it out who/where would be the best place. Is there any places that have this service and do a full report? I saw the "where to get a skyline serviced" and am wondering if any of the places mentioned would be able to check this car out for me. Thx guys.
  14. I had no intention of paying near 6800, was thinking 5-6k at most. Yeah seen a few good deals on GTST's for 10kish but they are few and far between. Lately there has been nothing, they are really over priced. Best i've seen is one for 9.9k ask and has 41,000 'genunie' km's, its in pretty good nick etc but seems a bit to low to be genunie but it could be I guess.. I've started asking around about paint jobs and I didn't see even just re doing it in gun metal grey costing any less then 2800. It would have been ok if there wasn't any chips on the roof because the door panels are fine and besides the rear left fender and the left fender and hood all the paint is fine. Even the front bar is ok besides the obvious accident and crack on it. If I go ahead with a mechanic check I was thinking of maybe offering 4500-5000 due to the work needing done and high cost of a decent respray. If there was any place I could do the sand down myself I have the time and its just paint on metal so I don't see it being that hard just time consuming. I've sanded down metal before and its not that difficult so that could be an option. I know more basic paints don't cost that much and may be able to find a place to get it sprayed, and some coats of clear as well I guess. I think 4500 for the car is reasonable considering the work needing to be done to the paint. He keeps saying first with cash gets the car but I don't care probs just wants to sell it to whoever asap and if it does sell then oh well i'll find another deal im interested in. EDIT: is there any proper second hand car check up places in canberra? or any mechanics that are specialised in this, maybe even a place that writes up a report etc on it.
  15. Hey. Well first off here is the ad. Ad linky Met the owner today checked out the car a bit and he drove as I don't have my manual licence yet lol. From the e-mails I wasn't sure if this was all legit or it was a lemon so I wanted to see it in person. Its a GTS25 so insurance should be a little lighter then the turbo models so thats a bonus. The "Aftermarket exhaust" looks like a an average 3" with cannnon. The "Stereo" is a pos, but it plays music so yeah.. The "Full GTR Interior" is the seats and interior panels such as the door panels and whatever the ones in the back are called. OMG at those seats so awesome compared to stock ones. As I assumed the GTR seats apparently just use the same rails etc as the normal ones and just slot right in without need for modification to anything, well by "as I" is he also told me that and thats what I had originally though. The "Strut brace" is... MEH to say the least but it does its job. "Problems: Car is consmeticly average, requiring alot paint work to be completed." Guy ran into a fence, apparently swerved to miss a roo on a wet day. All seems to be in order except the post went into his right fender and the left one had to be replace even he had no idea how that one got damage. There is a big dent in the hood near the right headlight. Both fenders have been replaced, the right one with the same color and left was white which he just sanded back and undercoated cause white looked dodgey on it (gun metal grey). He got the panels off SAU and same with the right mirror which had been damage, unfourtunately it is red... His left rear fender was beaten up a bit by 2 hit and runs in a car park, and then a roo jumped into it but didn't do any more damage then was done. Got it panel beat and then just undercoated. Front bumper is the one from the accident afaik, it has a 6-8cm crack in one place and signs that it was dinged up a bit but its not in to bad nick. Pics he sent me were from back a while with the bumper off, I remember him saying something about the front bar support was slightly off after the accident and was replaced or something... i'm not quite sure I don't remember. Only thing that worries me is that now that I think about it the headlights looked so damned clean and in perfect condition I think they may be new headlights. I didn't pick it up at the time but I'm going to find out. "Appart from the comsetic problems the engine is very sound and the iterior is also in great condition. Car drives well and is currently daily driven." I checked out the engine bay, it hadn't been cleaned so looks as if there was no trying to cover up problems. It was relatively clean, everything looked in order. It has a new altenator and water pump. His radiator top was cracked and they just replaced it with a new radiator. Tires are definately newish and equal wear so he at least hasn't thrashed it since he got them on. Went for a drive (me in the passenger seat lol). Checked out all the electronics worked such as climate control, sun roof etc. I listened for anything that sounded dodgey. Couldn't pick up on anything myself all sounded in working order. After while the car was still running opened up the engine bay, again to show something.. can't remember what. But engine sounded fine and looked fine. Car was a auto converted to a manual and has the RB20DET transmission apparently, I haven't looked at any paper work for the conversion. The speedo is off by a bit due to the transmission change he says. I have no idea about that, he said something about needing to get something adjusted. It definately showed a bit of age in the interior but overall it was in very good condition. The vents up on the dash near the windshield were a bit retarded but everything else looked good. The steering wheel is a bit of a mess, I forget if it was a really worn cover or not but i think it was as it looked to thick to be the normal leather or whatever they are made out of. At the start I just asked a few questions and then let him say what he had to say and he actually went through all the damage and paint issues (being a lot of scratching etc on the hood and some chips on the roof, all with light rust didn't look to be anything to serious) and I then looked at everything and he seemed pretty legit and I didn't manage to see anything he didn't tell me about. Looked in the boot, the side was a bit loose but there was no rust, shoulda checked out the spare tire but had a sub and all his work stuff in the boot. The car drives fair nicely, the suspenssion seems fairly tight but rides very softly, didn't feel any drifting or dodgey steering. This is the first second hand car i've looked at in person. I'm interested in it cause if it all turns out to be good i'd like to buy it. Could anyone give advice or offer suggestions. There probs are a few minor things I haven't written here but will post em as I remember I guess. I'm to the stage i'm thinking about bringing it to a mechanic and getting him to check it out. He is asking 6800 neg on it, the paint will need a lot of work, could 'patch' it up for fairly cheap but would probs be best to sand back to metal then re do the enter body as there are a fair amount of scratches. Unfourtunately I don't really know anyone to do with cars in canberra (where I live) so will have to find a mechanic, suggestions would be nice. EDIT: sry for the long post but wanted to be thorough. EDIT 2: He said the accident was two years ago, and that the front bar didn't sit right and he sent me pics from the start of this year showing the car with the bumper off and i think the support was replaced or something as it now sits perfect.
  16. sry for the n00b question, but how can you set up ecu's to display on a headunit screen or standalone lcd panel? EDIT: Is there somewhere that has lotsa info on ecu's etc or someone I can ask a few questions?
  17. what about the front seats? Can you pick up a set of those seats cheap?
  18. *BUMP* Sry was away for a week. So can anyone give me some info about those seats? Thinking bout finding a 32 at a car yard or something and giving it a test drive.
  19. hey guys i've seen some pics of the rear seats and is it the gtr only that has rear seats like this? and front seats like this? I saw some dodgey cheap looking backseat think it was just the normal one... probs in the gtst etc. Just wondering if it was the GTR only or a 'luxury/sports' interior edition. EDIT: does that rear seat fold down like in the s14's? lol edited the post above this one by accident.
  20. Hey again sry been out all weekend. Yeah I want full comp but depending on the cost... I'm still living at home so maybe get the car under my dads name and me as a driver will make it a little cheaper? He has been with the same insurance for the last like 5 years so hopefully that will mean something.
  21. Type M? thats the all wheel steering one isn't it? Got a pic of this body kit that comes on it? I'm liking a do luck rear bumper atm but its like $700usd its just a bit of fibreglass... lol. 600-700 aye... a bit more then I was hoping but oh well... will weight up full comp vs that.
  22. "Traction Control System" lol. I've heard 32's can have some traction problems... i think people just need to learn how to drive them... lol. People drove cars with no TCS for many years before it came along and they did fine. Would the gallery have some pics of clear indicators? I would like full comp but if its gonna cost me like 2k which I hope not, but it could as im not over 25 etc and haven't been driving that long, though no accidents etc currently and won't be via my fault . I'm actually getting excited about a 32 got some things i'd like to do and it seems like a solid car. Selling our other house soon so if it sells quickly and 32 looks good i'll endevour to find one in the next 2-3 months.
  23. thx, also been looking around the forums. What is the price range for 3rd party insurance for a 32 gts-t? As the car isn't exatly expensive i'm not sure getting full comp is the way to go as at most i'll wack on a body kit and maybe some rims if I found a good deal for non craptacular ones. Also clear indicators? any info on those. Not sure if I like them or not but will actually compare them to the orange ones sometime. I recall them being on the original release then they changed to orange, correct me if i'm wrong thats just from what I think I remember. Are the clear the same size etc as the orange and connect the same so a swap would be easy? Just wondering - gotta find me some pics of the clear ones to compare to orange. thx guys cool little communitiy here. I'll be sure to hang around a fair bit if I end up getting a 32 so I can bug people with my McN00bness with cheese. EDIT: Also no TCS? I don't think i've driven a car without it. Does it make it that different and can that be added or is it a physical thing not just something to do with the ecu.
  24. Hey guys, Just looking for some spec's info on the R32 (no GTR's plz). If there are any threads that cover this could you plz also give me the linky. I'm thinking bout getting a 32 as its one of the few cars in my price range that I don't totally mind and though its a 2 door, you can actually fit people in the back if its needed, well at least they looked big enough. And boot looks to be of a decent size though i'll have to check it all out in person sometime. What is the fuel economy for 'normal' driving? Are they very clostly to upkeep etc. Also the engines, was the RB25DE ever released as a DET in them? I was looking at some site and a RB25DET was not on it as one of the 32's engines. Any other stuff I should consider etc would be great.
