He owes you nothing. If it hasn't been assembled correctly, with wrong tolerances it could easily damage the pistions, bore, rods, crank, valves, etc. Sorry to sound so harsh, but when your pushing things beyond how they were initially designed theres always a possibility it will go bad. particularly when your not 100% sure what your doing TBH either way, you wont get a cent
