  1. Hi,

    Was at the lights the other day and put the clutch in to select 1st and heard/felt a clunk... then when i let the clutch out to move forward i noticed a whizzy sound which went away after the clutch was all the way out...

    Sounds like something spinning around where the clutch is :rant:

    The clutch wasnt slipping at all before this and it sorta just happen all of a sudden :)

    Anyway would it be a good idea to drive the car to the mechanic or get it towed ?? :laugh:

    Does anyone know what this sounds like ??

    Any advice would be great !! ;)

  3. Hi,

    Just wondering if anyone can help.

    Very rarely my gtr will throw the 4wd light up after loosing traction or chirping a gear, the torque meter goes to like 10 and stays there for about 40 secs then slowly makes it way down to zero and the 4wd light stays on. Turn the car off and on and its fine again.

    So 99% of the time it works good and then yea it freaks out, can be thrashing it all day without a problem and other days it will just do it out of the blue ...

    Anyway so if anyone has had the same or similar problem let me know what they had found :P ... would be kewl :D

  4. Ive been using vortex98 in my 32 gtr since it come to the servo down the road which was when it 1st come out and i noticed alot compared to the others and bp ultimate which was what i was using...

    It would idle heaps nicer with the vortex98 over any of the other fuels and thats what kinda sold me cause i noticed it straight away, was like it cleaned out the crap that was in the lines or filter ?? :P i dunno ...

    and it seem to rev nice all the way up to redline-ish ;)

    Whereas the shell 100 was pretty dogey i thought, rev'd a bit yuk, like it wouldnt be smooth at all and didnt like to be above 7 grand :laugh: ... i might try it again sometime but i been using the vortex98 for like 5 months and i think its the best out of the lot anyway.

    well it certainly is possible. i just dont know how the engine would react with such low pressure. it could go bang or it could be fine. im not sure. like it might be ok for another week or it could fail in 10 minutes time (if in fact the pressure is true and that low)
  6. Yea will do, might get some cash together and get a decent guage too .... suppose ill know then, just that it looks like the guage is faulty to me cause the reading is all over the place, could the oil pressure really be that dogey if the pump is on the way out or something ??

    well i guess all u can do is speak to your tuner or mechanic

    and go the guage is telling me high and low pressure

    maybe something in the internals is shagged or the guage/sender is on crack. best to check to be sure and safe

  7. Yea ive never seen the light come on, usually its never that low and reads how it should i think ... 4bar when cold and then just past the 1st bar when warm. But then all of a sudden it will just drop for 5 mins and then go back to normal, doesnt matter if your stopped or going, totaly random...

    It drives perfect hey, got a new exaust and it does backfire lots when slowing down with gears but it runs hard and sounds good hey...

    the pressure seems lower than normally across the entire range.

    like when you are idle or moving slow its too low and when you are up near redline (around 5k) its near 3bar i would have expected a little higher. the pressure seems to low to be normal.

    does it idle and run ok? i would expect noises, pops, smoke, bangs etc if the pressure was that low. i would also expect an idiot light to come on indicating low oil pressure if it in fact was getting that low (less than 1 bar) according to the guage. ive seen another r32 like this (gtst) and it had no idiot light on but mega low oil pressure. was checked by a mechanic and reported as OK

  8. Hi .. ive attached a little video of my oil pressure readings cause sometimes they go all crazy and freak me out.

    Ive had the sender unit changed and it had read differently since then but still way off what I think is normal ( which might not be right :D )

    The next step is to get an aftermarket guage I guess ...

    Anyway plz let me know what u think ...

    Interesting question about the air filters

    Why do you ask this??

    Im asuming you want to know if he as oiled filters as oposed to dry mesh types?

    Mine also runs fine in 2wd but not all the time. Occasionally it gives a bit of a splutter.

    I have also recently noticed the front tourqe guage goes up a little when accelerating even though its only light acceleration and the thing is not driving the front wheels.

    Probably going to be a grounding issue

  11. Yea i did ... well kinda , try taking out your 4wd fuse and take it for a spin , see if it still does it ... because mine dont when its only 2wd ... at the shops at the moment :no: ... dammit seen a few around today .. i want it baaaaack Ü

    Did you ever find the cause of this??

    One of my GTR's has develpoed a hessitstion on cruise, I looked at it with consult today and the O2 sensors are flat lining when they should be cycling.

    Strange thing is the sensors in the vehicle are only 3000Km's old and unplugging them makes no difference. I also have power and ground to the heated elements and continuity back to the ECM.

    I know my vehicle needs new sensors and id suspect yours does as well. If you have access to an ossiliscope id suggest looking the at the sensors with it and see of they are cycling on cruise or not.

  12. Naa still same problem as before with or without the o2 sensors plugged in :(

    Ok ive unplugged those 2 cables (ive attached a pic too just to make sure they were the correct ones)

    Drove the car for about 20 mins and it seemed fine, going to take it out later 2nite for a longer spin to see what happens so im not 100% sure its fixed the problem. Ill post again when i get home.

    Just say it IS the o2 sensors, what damage will I do if i continue to drive with them unplugged ??

    Im assuming it will just run rich and use lots of fuel and the spark plugs life will be reduced ... is this right ?? or wrong ?? :wave: hehe ... and yea will the motor be ok to run like this over long periods of time...

    have a look at your 2 dump pipes. there should be what looks like a sparkplug, sticking out of each pipe. this is the o2 sensor.

    now, off this sensor there are wires that lead to a plug. unclip the plug and the o2 sensor is disabled. yay!
