  1. it's original sister car ran 6.6's in 2005 @ 215+ mph this car is brand new & has been sat for 3 years doing nothing out in the states before we picked it up, it's slightly newer with a better chassis than the original & we are not handicapped by the same NHRA rules surrounding turbo sizes etc. It will take us a long time to get our head around it but we want to run this in the FIA pro Mod class here in Europe in 2011 - to be competitive we need to be seeing 6.3's or less - god knows if we can get there or not , it won 't be for lack of trying - be great to see a jap car v the monster v8's :-) It's running a 4ltr VQ block on methanol, 5 speed lenco box Fingers crossed
  2. Hi guys, hope you are all well. We are still cracking on with the skyline & hope to see lower times soon this season & we will upgrade the cage to unlimted for next year & switch her to methanol, we have also been busy looking to the longer term future & well here she is Project Zed - hope you like Hoping to start running & learning very slowly from august this year - will take us a fair while to find our feet for sure & no expectations for quite a while to be honest. cheers John
  3. Hi guys, Many thanks for some of your kind comments. God knows if we have taken the right decision to go down the RB25 route but if you dont try then you'll never know i guess. Please dont think all of the shouting about the time means we dont realise how far behind we still are from you guys with the times you have set (RB26 or not) ie/ awesome 9.4 etc etc. I nearly died of shock when I found out someone in japan has done an 8.6 sec pass ! - lol Have to say it's great to be talking to you guys in Aus as for years now you have been developing GTST drag cars whilst in Europe there has not been an awful lot of activity (best previous UK best time 11.2 secs). I honestly do think we can get an 8 out of the engine we have at the mo - may take some time though. We have a lot of testing to do before October when the car next runs & finally we can turn the nos on now & turn the boost on thanks to finding grip with the suspension. The gearbox will make the biggest difference in terms of time saving but what a great box the std has been too date - so bloody strong. We will also need to look at the drive shafts - snapped both off last time as well - lol Be great to see another 8 sec GTST anywhere in the world whether it's in Aus , Uk or anywhere - they have been overlooked for far far too long John
  4. Couple of quick videos of the car on the dyno for the first time, was mapped to 2.0 bar & was 676 at the hubs. Have since mapped to 2.7bar. Sorry about the quality but my first time transferring. Turn up the volume & enjoy. http://www.dropshots.com/day.php?userid=12...11&ctime=204528
  5. Hi guys Well first competition out of the way & shame we couldnt test beforehand but the car wasnt ready till 9pm the night before. Huge problems with suspension & grip day 1, better tyres day 2 with same suspension problems helped us go 2 secs quicker 11.6 @ 138 mph. 60 foot times were awful as the suspension was just plain wrong (way way too hard) We have got a full testing day on Friday 16th june & the competition after that is on 24/25th June. Suspension guys are working really hard to get it right & will be there for the test with revise coilovers & spring rates etc so should be a lot lot better. Gearbox with airshifter arrives in 4 weeks so great times hopefully not 2 far away
  6. Thanks mate -in terms of times I dont want to tempt fate - lol We have an idea what we hope it will do but lets wait & seelater in the year Front splitter now part of the bumper & all can be taken on/off in secs Some further pics showing the rear carbon diffuser (bumper will go on in the morning)
  7. Hi guys - not been able to post for some strange reason over the last few days?. Yes they are cold feeds straight into the engine, no need for a feed to the brakes as the car is only going to be used for drag for now. If we change it back to circuit in a couple of years then we will open up the front spoiler to vent to the brakes. Some extra pics on the website now http://www.projectgtst.com Loads of really good pics to follow at the weekend & the car is going into its first drag competition on sunday/Monday - really looking forward to it although we wont be running full power just yet & are still waiting for the "full on gearbox from xtrac" . Have a stunning rear diffuser & rear wing to go on tomorrow. Hows the GTST's in Aus - any more big power monsters coming out soon ?
  8. Taken on Saturday - I need to trim the front bumper so the splitter sits about 60mm off the dec but really happy with how she looks.
  9. She's alive !!! Quick link to a video one of the guys in the skyline - owners club took yesterday at a static show here in the Uk (1st time the car has been seen in public) http://media.putfile.com/GTST-Start Forget the back bumper as took it off to stop it getting damaged on the trailer (has a big diffuser that is only 70mm from the deck) Miserable official asked us to turn off as it was 102 db at idle Mapping all next week ready for the 1st comp. Hows the weather your end in Aus ? - itis truly crap in the UK at the moment - no sign of bloody summer at all
  10. T - 3 days to get the bugger ready for Japfest (1st static show here) Going to be bloody tight Proper size pics on the link below http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y288/041068/Project%20GTST/
  11. Hi fellas - revised website with some spec details on now http://www.skylinesnapshots.co.uk/gtst/
  12. Can someone confirm if the times I have (rwecords set in Australia) are correct please? would really appreciate it - thanks guys
  13. Hi Michael Turbo HKS 51r spl (first 1 in the UK) BB model Nos - upto 300 bhp direct port All Jun internals RB25 block 2.7 displacement Suspension has been changed since the pics (the hks ones were more track than drag)
  14. Cheers Michael To be honest mate it was you guys out in Aus that gave me the inspiration to go mental with it after seeing a couple of videos showing gtst's in the 9's etc. We test in 5 weeks & happy to put up a video of the test, first comp is on the 28/29th may. God knows how we will get on but hoping for some really really good times. Lot of one offs on the car that we havnt seen before - be interesting to see how they work. I'll have to get my crap together & look to sell the dash & doors at some stage on a decent scale. Cheers John
  15. Hiya fellas, Bloody freezing here in the UK !! Thought i would join on here so i can keep in touch with whats happening in terms of worldwide times as it's really difficult to get the correct info in the UK. I've been building my drag car for 10 months now & it will have over 900 bhp & be very very light. Here's the website http://www.projectgtst.com/ www.projectgtst.com Be great if you guys could let me know if the times i have got on there are correct (as I know you guys have always to date been the GTST masters) many thanks John
