  1. How sure are you that it is out of a 32? Just wondering cause the company knows i am going to be checking to make sure it is a 33 and they assure me it is from an r33. Also the reason i want a 33 is so that I dont have to deal with the small crank collar on the early 32s but i also heard that later 32s might not have this problem. Is there any truth in any of this? thanks
  2. Can someone check this engine number for me. Thanks guys. RB26 D20423A For the record I got this number from the shop at which I ordered my rb26 so i am not sure it is the right number. If this is not the correct format for an engine number let me know. I dont really trust this shop but they were the only ones who claim to be able to get an r33 motor so I am checking everything i can to verify if it is a 33 thanks.
  3. RB26 D20423A I ordered a motor and it is supposed to be R33 RB26DETT. Above is the engine number that i requested from them. Was wondering if anyone can tell me if it really is a 33. Specifically someone who has the FAST software and maybe they could run the number through it and let me know. Any help would be great. Thanks guys.
  4. Actually one of my buddies is running a TIAL right now on his bone stock SR20. Lets see I know 7psi is slightly under a 11ty billion but i think you get the point. And he is using a MAF and has absolutely no problems. So your stab in the dark was a far off miss. Hence my suggestion of a BOV that will be good forever no matter what other changes you make. I doubt i am the only person who would like to do things right the first time. and I have never experienced problems without recirc but I only have experience with rb25s and sr20s and little experience with RB26's as I just got mine and it is still stock BOVs. Maybe rb26 is different. By the way link me a video or something of a car running 11ty billion PSI cause I cant recall ever seeing one. Also as far as tuning goes it sounds like he will be needing some tuning anyway with the change of ECU.
  5. In my experience the best BOV you can buy is a TIAL. Maybe they dont distribute down there but anyone serious up here has one. When I say serious I mean guys running like 40psi. They are a little pricey at about $300 US but they are the best out there. Also they are by far the best sounding BOV I have ever heard. Here is a link to their site. However they do not recirculate but I am not sure why you would care about that especially if you are replacing the ECU. TIAL BOV
  6. From garretts site it looks like the 2860s are the way to go over the 2560s.
  7. I agree that it is a probably a crappy tune. Here is a car, also from dynopro.com, in the same state (I have seen both cars in person) which is running HKS twins (not sure which models) but look at the power band. Much more useable and I believe this car could have won that race. I hate to see a GTR lose but out here in Colorado there are just some rediculous Hondas and a grand total of about a half dozen GTR's (seriously in this state there are no more than 6 gtrs and I actually think there are a total of 5 right now.)
  8. Last time i checked a 13 was not too bad. That is not even hard to achieve with an eg and a bone stock K series. I dont know maybe I am preaching to the 10 second crowd but where i am from 13slooks pretty fast on the street.
  9. Yeah i mainly was just trying to learn how to verify that motor i am getting is a 33. I asked about the 34's also mainly because you see RB26's all kinds of different colors in magazines and I thought maybe some of the stock motors came in different colors. So I was just asking for the sake of information. Thanks for the input though guys. I am gonna try and get them to give me the engine number before they ship it so i can check and be sure.
  10. cool thanks a lot for the info. I will grab that engine number when it comes in. thanks again
  11. bump... Anyone know if the R33's rb26's are black like the R32's?
  12. Just for the sake of knowledge what are these differences in appearance between the 32 and 33? Any info would be great thanks guys.
  13. Visually how can you tell the difference between an r32,33,and 34 RB26DETTs. Mainly what is the difference in colors of the different motors. I am about to order an R33 RB26 and i wanna know how to make sure i dont get a 32 for the price of a 33
  14. I live where this race occured. Here is the dyno sheet for the GTR from dynopro.com. The civic that he raced is probably making 450-500whp. Civics like this one are all over the place out here. Horrible powerband for the GTR as you can see. It is HKS T51R with basically no supporting mods. Probably did not even spool while racing.
  15. Just like the title says I am wondering if the R32 GTR brakes are Brembos.
  16. I was reading on some other boards that there is an issue with the R32 RB26DETT crank coller that kills motors. Just wondering if anyone has any information on this as I am about to buy a 26 and am wondering if it is worth the extra cash to make sure i get an r33.
