  1. Before you go spending money and changing coil packs, check that your plugs are gapped at 0.8mm that might help the breaking down with the higher boost.

Yeah he ran cold plugs and gap gapped to 0.8, said it might help but no luck, still crap... its definately the coil packs Thanks guys :P

  2. wat did he get ya for?

Welding a few runs inside the intake pipe to stop turbulance... said it would help steady the car when on idle. that wasn't much though.

Also said he had to re-drill and tap the holes that hold the throttle position sensor on. said the tps was coming loose after a few runs. Since the cars an hour and a half away i cant see it so i just have to say yeah.. do it. But its done now and im pickin it up just tuned to 13psi, no more coin

  3. Normal for ageing coils.

    New ones are around $550

    cheers.

No worries, thanks mate... I just sorta feel as though im getting milked since there have been a few things labour wise he had to do aswell. Probably legit... just dont like giving money away lol

  4. Hey i was just wondering if it sounds correct that coil packs would play up at only 14psi?

My cars getting tuned with A GT3082R turbo and the tuner said that 14-15 pound boost and the car is breaking up.

Just wondering if this sounds normal, cause i know ppl have run 14 psi with the standard turbo without upgrading the coilpacks. And if it is normal how much am i lookin to spend to get a set?

Does this turbo fit on a rb25 or a sr20?

  6. Look i dont really care if u wanna argue your point, but the fact is its still near enough to $1000 dollars more for a few gaskets and 2 hoses, you could buy gasket glue for the flanges if u wanted? I bloke from work did this on his 180 and its still fine. It just pisses me of that they advertise it as $1700 but in reallity if u intend to put the turbo on your car as im sure most of us do when purchasing a turbo it'll cost a fair bit more.

  7. Hey i decided that instead of getting new oil and water lines i was just gonna put some adaptors on the stock ones so they'll screw into the GT3076R turbo. Just wondering if anyone can let me know what thread pattern is needed to fit into both the water and oil lines

    Thanks

  8. The last post

I call these other company to find out what the turbo would cost.

I wanted to purchase a HKS GT-RS turbo was told it will cost $3600 at best.

So I call someone else and was told to call another guy and his price was $2500 for for a Garrett GT-2871R.

And I would have to buy all the lines and gaskets too.

So the truth is this the HKS GT-RS will cost $3600 and the Garrett will cost $2500.

    Thats for you help.

No worries mate... If people could be bothered to search and find out the facts before saying someone is talkin bullshit im sure they'd be as suprised as i was, sure the turbo costs $1700, but to be able to put it on your car "yourself" its $2600. What if u were payin for someone to install it...! more!

I agree selling the old turbo will help but finding someone to buy it would be the problem...

  9. Its not new but a clean direct bolt-on. This turbo is nice but few are getting 250RWKW without 16 to 18psi,...Garrett GT3076R version which we could offer a complete kit.

Where is the GT3076r for $1600? I rang up gcg and they said to me the turbo by itsself is $1700 and a kit was $2600... tossers want almost $1000 more for a braided oil line and water line lol.

That what i want aswell, bout 250 to 260kw but the hks gtrs is like $2100 and you'll get there with the 3076r or 3071r for heaps cheaper if u can get the 3076r for $1600.

So where is it this cheap?

  10. So would the S15 stock injectors be up to the task of running a GT3071 (475hp) and also would they be a direct replacement to the stock r33 injectors? also im only lookin at around 260kw.

The only GTRS's i can find have the T28 flange and need an adaptor to be fitted to the T3 flange. Thats why im goin for the smallest T3 flange turbo which is the GT3071

  11. No doubt the factory facia has the best illumination. But i just didn't like th aqua colour on a pearl red car ;)

I am more then happy with how mine turned out :/

yeah im with ya there the bluey aqua colour goes good with the white, maybe even black and some various other colours but as for the red i reckon u've done a awesome job and it looks tidy too, good job
