  1. My first attempt lol As you can see the left rear quater is still in good shape. I brushed it on the wall a couple of times.

Not because I'm so evil drifter, but because my tires sucked!!! 235/45/17. It felt like ice skating there.

Anyway. My steering pump died on one of the practice sessions and I continued without the powersteering.

Needless to say I didn't have fun for a long time. Coutersteering with no power sucks. Need to go to gym or smth.

  2. Some car camera action from the run with Saito. \

Guy at the starting line assigned me for lead run on 1st run. But Saito went forward.

I didn't get it but f**k that and I went chasing. And R154 gearbox maybe good when new.

But when all the plastic parts wear out. It shifts like shit. I had to use one gear only to drift.

Couldn't leave a chance for upshift or downshift. So 3rd gear here.

  3. Top 8 battles next. And I had to run with Daigo Saito. The X-chassis king of drift lol.

He was driving chinese S15 with sequential gearbox and NOS. Chinese guys have money:)

Anyway, one more time to say that I suck at chasing. Or drifting close. Saito was using inner line, which was not the gudged drift line.

They wanted for us to do one more time. But.... Anyway you will see what happened later.

    It will be pretty entertaining.

  4. Here are a few vids. They are hosted on chinese youtube-like website.

Youtube is actually banned in china, so its harder for me to get there fast.

Those will work for now ;)

First is Top16 battle with Taiwanese drifter ZhangShenJun. In pink S13. SDT means Shanghai Drift Team.

I hope they will have STDs. I thought I lost that battle. But the gudges decided to let me through.

Since they could see how that guy straitened out couple times during my lead run.

Ohhh. When chasing him, I hit the wall pretty hard. You can see the rear quarter damage haha. Didn't straiten out though.

Btw. I'm using 4th gear on this run. All 4th gear. No shifting. Only abusing the clutch. I didn't think it would work, but it did.

    I ran 4.3 final gear.

  5. Day 11 September 27th

Had to ask guys from a fellow workshop for help. Running out of time.

Did the intercooler piping. Factory radiator support had to go also :) Instead a nice CUSCO tower bar in its place;)

    CIMG0234.jpg

    CIMG0235.jpg

    CIMG0236.jpg

    CIMG0238.jpg

Intercooler piping came out pretty short. Will be good for response.

    Day 12 September 28 to 29th

Here are the guys wiring up a dashboard. It had to be simple and easy to work on later.

    CIMG0246.jpg

All shit fitted. Bumper on. Now waiting for ecu to be wired in. It was like 3am and didn't start the engine yet.

Had to be in the event place by 8:30AM for practice session. Had to leave 2 hours for the road.

    CIMG0245.jpg

    CIMG0251.jpg

    CIMG0252.jpg

Pretty much all finished. Engine will start soon. No head lights this time:( No tail lights either.

Gonna drive 100kms to event on highway. Haha. Dangerous stuff

And by 6:30AM the engine started. Packed some stuff and left.

Car was tuned on the road to the event. )))

  6. Day 9 September 25

Front suspension fit - ok! Crossmember in - ok! Engine in - ok)))

Now was the weak part: doing the driveshaft. No one really knows how to do one. And no balancers around.

There was a 3cm gap between toyota input shaft and nissan rear. I first wanted to make a flange to mate the two together.

But that would take time which we didn't have. Decided to get the nissan flange out and pressed in toyota one and welded shut.

Worked out just right. Redid the driveshaft mount. Worked no problems even past 100mph or 180kph.

    Liked how it went.

    Day 10 September 26th

Had a lazy afternoon. Decided to cut out the front innerfenders out, Tires would rub them on full lock.

I didn't have wheel spacers. So inner fenders had to go. Cut !!!

Had to modify the downpipe a bit. Not the cleanest job. But it works, right ?

    CIMG0217.jpg

Started mocking up the radiator fitment, intercooler. Will run this cool vicsous fan shroud. From Toyota Crown JZS133.

Which are abundunt here. And manual too;) W58. If you guys need factory clutch parts I can hook you up:)

  7. Day 7 September 23rd

Pretty much done on the roll cage. I wish we could use more time on that. But its a race against time:(

    CIMG0153.jpg

    CIMG0154.jpg

    CIMG0155.jpg

Finished assymbling the rear suframe and fitted on car. 2 calipers on each side + driftworks knuckles a present from my friend.

Should be pretty good for drifting :) haha

    CIMG0156.jpg

    CIMG0157.jpg

    CIMG0158.jpg

Test fitted the turbo and tried the 2jz-ge+t down pipe. Should work out pretty good, :)

    Day 8 September 24

More pics of the turbo. Look at the double flappers. Haha. This thing has some mighty actuator opening at 2bar.

Had do ditch all that crap and run it wastegate. Which was the original idea.

Got some ideas from SerialNine X8 a long time ago. Just couldn't realise it earlier.

Also twin wastegates. Chinese 38mm. Which seezed a couple times at the drift event. Making a f**king hussle.

Unbolt, disassamble, sand the valve neck assamble put back in. Don't wanna do that every time right ? )))

    I'm cheap ass.

  8. Day 4 September 19th

    Day 5 September 20th

Was working on the rollcage with the guys. Trying to replicate some nascar bars haha. Test fitted 2jz block to see the fitment.

f**king engine mounts from zero lab are total worthless shit. They way they space the mounts is impossible. They don't even line up.

Had to get one mount copied here and used the same mount on both sides. The only way it looked like it could work out and it did )))

    Day 6 September 21th

Run out of tube for rollcage. Started on the rear subframe. Made some solid mount raise rear subframe mounts.

Also got some parts in. 4 rear 2 pot calipers for my car. 2jz AT bellhosuing for some experiments. Which are really f**king going to happen.

And some premade brackets to run individual 2 pot calipers for hydro handbrake.

Got the suspension arms from my old car. China spec. But worked on daily every day for 2 years no problem.

  9. Hey, guys !

A small intro. Im russian and work and live in China, Beijing. Each f**king year there is this epic drift event in a city nearby.

World Drift Series its name. WDSÊÀ½çÆû³µÆ®ÒÆϵÁÐÈü¹ÙÍø-WDS ,WDS , WDSCHINA£¬WDS Drift, WDS Drifting You can see some videos on youtube and coverage on speedhunters.

American drifters(Matt Powers, JR, Ross Petty etc) are invited to event for even more madness and destruction.

In 2010 I was driving an ass-spec C33 build in one week with 1jz and small T3-T4 turbo. All was good, only the f**king W58 factory clutch was sleeping. Untill on the last day at night I got my friend to borrow his r154 with ACT HD clutch. Which helped a bit.

Funny thing is I got very deep into the grid. Going through top 32s and to top16s. Was kicked out in top4 battle by Ueo. Top 8 battle was with Imamura and I got lucky his half-shaft snapped)) Otherwise my weak ass skills and car wouldn't let me finish in top 8. Which is really funny with chinese guys buying expensive here s-chassis built by japanese/taiwanese for crazy money.

Anyway, its always a huge problem to find a good garage or tuner here. But I was lucky and got help from a local guy.

He basically sponsored me for event. Half of the parts on the car was mine. Engine wise it was his.

Event starts on 29th of september. I bought the car on 15th of september from a friend. With a dead 4cyl carb CA20 engine.

Cars had to be in the padocks on 27th. But I could negotiate for late entry on early morning of 29th.

    So here I start.

    Day 1 September 15th

Got the piece of shit car. Looked god on the outside. But the roof line by the windscreen rusted to shit. Seller f**ked me over on that;)

Could probably negotiate a better deal if I knew about that.

    CIMG0008.jpg

Really gay red interior. I wanted to leave it. But f**k it. Scraped it all of in the end.

    Day 2 September 16th

Brought over some of the parts for the car.

Powered by max hydro handbrake, fake bride seats, 3 diffs with different final gears, half shafts for spares. simple and brute.

9.5J ET15 chinese wheels. Got only 2 haha. Rest is 9j with 20 offset.

    CIMG0033.jpg

    CIMG0034.jpg

Here is a good edition for the engine. Guys here are really sketchy about turbos. So its either garrett BB or hks or greddy. I don't have that moneys. So I went to a diesel truck turbo shop. And picked this baby up. Its genuine garrett GT3782R. Journal bearing. T4 devided AR1.0 on the hot side. Manufactured in shanghai garrett plant for some truck.

    Compressor: 58/82mm Turbine:74/64mm A bit similar to HKS GT3240 with T04S rear or GT37. Or even TD07S-25G.

I bought it for USD550 which is f**king cheap. And it works good.

    Day 3

I didn't do shit to the car. Waiting for parts and playing around with friends rb25. Installing a truck turbo on his engine. No pics.

  10. guys, what about comparison NEO to not NEO engenes - NEO is better to my aim? or its doesnt really matter?

I also would to say that in Russia all advise to swap rb26,

25det neo swap very few people and absolutely there is no experience on them.

And so u say that rb20det transmission doesnt handle 350hp? Even while 1 season?

    Zdorova !

    Hey, fellow countryman !)))

If you don't have access or money for bigger turbo or proper ecu or bigger injectors. Just go with rb26.

RB26 will be better bang for the buck. You could have factory 350hp with it and don't worry about bigger AFMs or new injectors.

Another option is to sell rb26 twin turbos and try to mate ur rb20det manifold with some 400hp turbo to it. So you could use factory EFI stuff.

Will give you better response and more punch than factory twins.

Your gearbox will handle it fine. Don't use a harsh clutch. Try to get a heavier pressure disk and use factory clutch disk. This will give you enough bite to handle the horses and still retain the driveability and slip enough not to break the box.

Even if RB26 fails you can swap the engine block to some other rb25 and use rb26 head with all the EFI stuff. And still be able to use the rb26 power.

    Poor mans power forever !;)

  11. Haven't posted here in awhile. My friend got a RB25 NEO engine in his C33 and he has constant troubles with the wiring and CAS. Wiring is so hacked up, so its easier just to replace it with another one. He got a Haltech r32 plugin from his old car. And I was thinking that we can switch to R33 loom and sensors and use haltech on his engine.

The only problem I see is CAS. Since the its NEO and intake cam is a tad different. The way it connects to CAS is different to R33 RB25.

I was thinking of several options:

    1) Try to repair the NEO loom and wire a R33 ECU socket so Haltech could be connected. Another thing, would it be able to read ignition from NEO CAS ?

    2) Replace whole engine loom with R33 one and use NEO CAS. Same as above, will Haltech recognize it ?

    3) Replace whole engine loom with R33 one and use R33 CAS. Try to modify it to be used on NEO intake cam. Maybe the inside of the CAS, that connects to the cam can be swapped ?

Anyone had done similar swaps ? Or has some kind of advice for me ?

    Thanks!

  12. I have searched and read thru the DIY guide for R33's, but there is not enough info on RB25 Neo's with problems encounted and solutions

So hopefully this thread will solve these issue's as it has been done before by others

First I have a series 2 Stagea AWD, so I do not have traction control on the throttle body to worry about, but R34 owners will

    1. Need to change the R34 throtle body to a R33 item. Swap over the R34 throtle position sensor as it is wired up different to the R33 item.

    Bolts straight on.

    2. Neo's have top feed injectors and the r33 manifold is designed for side feed. Can you fit/buy or make inserts to suit the smaller top feed injectors?

I have 480cc Nismo items to use.

Have seen the ebay seimen injector kits for neo's and they look like they come with inserts for the greddy plenum.

    3. Fuel rail will need spacers to suit the height of the top feed injectors

    4. Need to use R33 ACC valve. These are wired up different to the R34 Neo item. How is this done?

    5. Have trailed fitted the new inlet plenum to the head and it fouls the small steel vacumm line that runs behind the cam gear backing plate to the power steer plate. This will need to cut/bent out the way or a new line run form the plenum to the p/s pump.

    6. For the R34 owners, what needs to be done about the traction control?

    7. Any other issues I have missed?

    Just done one like that.

1 - Use R33 S2 throttle body with your internals.

2 - Easier is just to get a r33 fuel rail and side feed injectors. Bolts in.

    4 - Check R33 and R34 manuals for wiring.

6 - remove traction control. What good does it do ? Dash lamp will flash though.

  13. I've been in a couple of rb25s with speed signal wire cut. And they all behave strangely. The power is not the same. They don't have rev cut while driving. And they rev past 7k and make very frightening sound. Not the lovely revlimter-bounce.

    Hook up the speed signal.
