  1. Sorry to be a little off topic.. Did series 2's come with the battery in the engine bay ;) The overflow bottle is in a really weird position! looks like one out of 180 eheh Nice 4 door, 4 dr luvin

    yea was in engine bay std but its not std battery as it was too small & not enough cc's

  2. Hi Guys & Gals

    I am thinking of MAYBE selling my sedan in a few months since i never drive it & its costing me a packet each year in insurance

    Anyway its as above bought it stock std last June with 56k & it now has just over 70k on the clock...I am the first owner here in oz!

    Mods i have done are the following

    Turbotech boost control - set at 8.5psi

    R34 SMIC

    Pod Filter (some cheap brand)

    Rest has been untouched

    ALL STD Parts available

    Car is in very good condition inside & out will have 12months rego after this month (its due) so depending when i sell it will have 6-12months left

    I have taken this to WSID twice....1st time did a 14.3 std then next time with turbotech did 14.2 (have slips) & i have yet to take it with pod on

    Anyway im looking for around 17k so if you or anyone you know are interested, make me an offer

  3. Hmm, dude i had the missfire problem too when i changed from copper to iridium plugs too. (cost me 80 or so dollars too fk that), but dude as alot have mentioned, regap the plugs to 0.8 with a regap kit, easy as to do, i did it myself.

    Theres also a thread for this as well where some have tapped up their coils which i have also tried whilst the plugs were out to regap. My car hasn't miss-fired at all as of yet.

    cheers will def give it a go...regap kit??? cant i just use some feeler gauges & tap etc...

    does anyone know where i can find the thread which was about pulling your coil packs apart & cleaning out carbon build up etc?

  4. tonight, when its dark, start it with the coil valley cover off and see if you can see sparks arcing from the coil body to the head.

    if you can to easy....

    if you cant, pull them off and test them and also look for hairline cracks.

    good idea...thanks i'll do that when i get a chance...if i can see it sparking then what?

    also with the bolts do i have to go to nissan or can i just get similar bolts from hardware etc

  5. Did you clean the coils (remove dust, grime, etc) while you had it all apart? Dirty coils will allow arcing of the spark to places other than the spark plug.

    well i blew air up where the spring is etc & they looked pretty clean actually but thats about it...i remember some thread about pulling them apart & using sandpaper etc to clean them but could not find it & dont wanna pull coil apart not knowing what i am doing

  6. Ok i have a S2 R33 GTS-T

    I changed plugs to some iridiums heat range 6 which are gapped at 1.1mm...before change (old plugs where original plugs from japan heat range 5) car used to slighty miss on idle but never whilst driving but now it misses more on idle, you can hear it pop & the spark arking somewhere & hesitates from like 4000-5000rpm?

    car is std besides R34 cooler & 8psi boost

    also where can i get some new coil pack bolts...mine looked dodgy

  8. Are you sure your boost went up when you put the smic on? or was it the BC that you put on.

    I did this same mod to my car, and boost didn't go up.

    I'm no expert either, but it doesn't take an expert to tell you that your performance gains will be minimal until you do your exhaust.

    Sure you can bump the boost up a bit, you'll definitely feel it pick up better down low, but overall performance won't increase by much, along with you putting unnecessary strain on the turbo.

    yea was before i got boost control & still had std dual stage bleed 5/7psi...as soon as i out on SMIC i noticed it hitting 5psi alot earlier & also went to just under 8psi instead of 7psi

    yea down low is awesome now & i agree without an exhaust not much gain in power is to be had especially in higher revs but just want to know whats a safe boost til i get an exhaust and power fc later on

  9. 7psi....as I have been kindly directed by members of this forum :D

    Its no good for your turbo to be trying to blow through a tiny pipe that has a few 90 degree bends.

    What happens when you blow through a small straw a lot harder than normal??........ Your face goes red and heats up.......so does your turbo :D

    but when i put the R34 SMIC it went to 8psi automatically, so surely 1psi more cant hurt it can it?...Im no expert tho, so any thoughts would be appreciated.
