  1. theres pictures and an exploded diagram of the OS crossflow head in a book called 'how to modify your nissan and datsun ohc engine

Yep on page 59 and 60. It's the OS Giken TC24 twin cam.

The LY Nissan single cam cross flow head is also mentioned in the book as only giving a 4% to 6% improvement over the non cross flow Nissan head.

  2. Yes there was an os giken twin cam for the L6, but none of the pictures in this thread are of one. The youtube link and the pictures are of the guy from hybrid z that used KA24 heads on a L28.

Here is what the TC-24 B1 looked like (The TG in the advert is a mis-print, is is TC).

  3. Looking at the feedback it didn't actually sell for that price. I imagine the guy that listed it for the seller probably isn't too happy with the neg feedback

He should get banned form ebay. You cant list an item for sale then refuse to sell it for the price the auction ended at. Thats what reserves, buy it now prices and the ability to cancel an auction before it ends are for.

  4. Is the back edge molded to the body. ie does it follow the contours of the side of the car exactly? I'm assuming it does, which make my next suggestion a bit pointless, but maybe you could mount them lower down on the car and chop the ends off? Otherwise cutting the guards out is probably the only solution.

  5. ...no wait it sold already. :D

Not Mine. Saw it on OZDAT.com, was sold already. listed at 6:30pm sold by 9:00pm same evening. Damn you gotta be quick if you are afer a K coupe.

If anyone was interested (maybe the deal will fall through, that happens when people cant arrange transport)...

    pics were at http://thefudge.net/pictures/240K/

    Anyone from here get it?

  6. Hi Mr Camo, I'll post up some more soon. I"ve just added some sporty mirrors to it kinda like the Jap ones you see. Mirrors attached half way down the gaurds. My flared gaurds I'm told by Kamaeri will be sent Thursday , so once they're on i'll post new pics. guess now I'll need wider rims. Money, money and more money.post-44326-1227617162_thumb.jpg:P1000597.JPG]

I've been drinking wine all night, but I know I'm not that drunk. That photo is really blurry. I saw the photos in one of your other posts though. Have you thought about painting the rear tail light surrounds the original metallic gray, or black? Would match the flares when you get them.

  7. Nigel, those flares on ebay.au were purchased by my friend Shane here in W.A. Cost him $400 all up. The ones I was looking at were same mould and from the same person. Thankfully i waited till Shanes arrived ( yesterday), but they are NOT contoured to fit a C210 coupe even remotely. So the hunt goes on.My friend will probably put them back on ebay. Maybe they'll fit a C110,who knows. Guess that's the downside of buying unseen (physically).

Does your friend still have the C110 flares? Are they definitely C110 items? They look more like 240Z flares/overfenders if thats them in the photos you posted.

  8. lol, i was going to suggest getting boradband - so no sorry no ideas :P

I was discussing this very same topic at work today, after uploading some vids to youtube. It's because adsl has fast download, but slow upload, since most uploading is just your pc sending acknowledgment of data received, and that doesn't have to be particularly quick. Also that they need to re-encode the vid to flv format too.

I just set up to 10 vids uploading then go do something else, like go to work.

Good to see that you got your car back together. Got any pictures anywhere?

  9. How do you know this stuff? and yes that's correct. someone else gave me a similar response on the Japan thread. Thanks for the input ,it's good to know a little about the bits and pieces tacked on to ya motor. Ricky.

Spent too much time hanging out at classiczcars.com I'd seen the same question asked there, so I stole the answer from there too.

  10. My intake manifold and 2" tuned length extractors have this stamped on them.Any ideas?post-44326-1219405746_thumb.jpg

The kanji reads "Kyoku To", and it translates as 'Far East'

It's an 'F.E.T.' manifold, made and sold by 'Far East Trading' - quite a famous name in the Japanese tuning and aftermarket parts industry from the late Sixties onwards.

  11. 1996 AUST COMP 09/02 NISSAN SZ R33 GTR SKYLINE TWINCAM 24 VALVUE TWIN TURBO RB26 6 CYLINDER MOTOR 5 SPEED GEAR BOX, (UNLICENSED) ODO; 31,401 KM SHOWING ON CLOCK, ENGINE NUMBER; NOT VISIBLE VIN NUMBER; 6U900BCNR33022180 = 211102 0900 9599/0053; 2002 767 163/0056

Either never complied, or attempted ghosted car?

Looks like it was confiscated in 2002, guessing by the police report number, which would explain the low KM's and the amount of rust on the brake disc's

    It sold for $24,000.

The monaro sold for $48,000 even though its not a genuine 350 GTS. It was originally a 6 cyl GTS that came out of the Adelaide factory.

  12. Thanks Mr Camo, just sent Phil an email. Blame it on that black 2door, it really got my attention especially now that I have my old 280z motor and 3x 45 webers again. Only thing is I still have a 260z motor and twin 2" S.U's to sell. Ricky

    Hi Ricky

    Are you in WA?

If so put an ad up at www.wazregister.com about the engine you have for sale.

I never heard back from Phil. Did you get a reply?

  13. Looking Good Andrew.

Ricky, GT-R reproduction parts are available from Challenge Fibreglass. Details available here: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthr...1641&page=2

You should send them an email soon, as they are about to make up some more. Only C110 parts though. You have a 210 don't you?

Ghostrider, engine choice was governed by what ever was laying around his garage at home. The Nissan V8 fairy must have not stopped at his house that week, so he used the 318 he had sitting in the corner doing nothing. His car, His choice.

  14. 2 cops were seen at a northern suburbs import dealer a couple of days ago checking a s1 r33 gtst front bar to see if their undercover rader and whatever else there trying to hide under there would fit

    just a heads up

Some one should paint up a skyline to look like a cop car, and see how they like it.

  15. WTF are a csp311 (Fairlady?) and an S30 ? I've looked in Wiki but it is a bit sketchy.

Eveybody else was posting chassis codes, so i did too.

CSP311 is the chassis code for the 1st generation Silvia (1965 to 1967).

Mines been modified a bit, some time before I got it.

    IMG_0002Small.jpg

    S30 is a 240Z.

  16. www.hybridz.org is probably the best place to learn about L series 6 cylinder turbo engines.

I hear the non egr N42 intake manifold is a good one to use for turbos. I dont know why though. It's not a turbo manifold to begin with.

As for shipping from the usa, tell them to ship it surface mail, and it should cost about half what they tell you for priority mail. It will take a couple of months to get here though.

And yeah NZ had alot of L20ET's so thats a good place to find turbo exhaust manifolds. check www.trademe.co.nz for them. I had a friend get a whole L20et, and he's stripping all the bits i want off it and sending them to me.

Also get a turbo oil pump.

  17. Unfortunate that Nissan didn't have the smarts to quietly ship / sell enough cars with appropriate upgrades.

The McLeod/Whiteford car was a bog stock GL, basic L24 intake manifold, tiny exhaust, sedan/hardtop springs & dampers, 250mm front discs etc.

The GT intake manifold might have only been good for a small power increase but that would have been enough for a few tenths a lap.

Ditto the brakes, the 270mm discs were available but not fitted to the Australian market car so couldn't be used. How much gain? Hard to quantify but probably in the order of a second a lap or so.

Suspension from the GT would have reduced the awesome body roll across Skyline and through the Dipper which had to be worth a few tenths!

All up enough to have kept the Mazda RX3 behind.

You really had to see the thing running to appreciate how bad it was and just how good McLeod & Whiteford were to keep the shiny side up.

Then Mazdas wouldn't have led the class and the whole history of Nissan in Oz would have been different.

But then again, the current Nissan 350z 'supercar' is a big yawn and the scant info leaking on the next Skyline indicates it will be an even bigger yawn, if not a technicolor yodel.

I thought the Australian 240K GL hardtop was a GT spec, but badged as a GL because of the GT paranoia that was going on at the time, caused by holden and fords plans for high powered street cars (XU-2 and Phase 4 GTHO). In the Parts manual the badges are shown as GT badges for the home marker, but there are GL badges marked as "for Australia" on the same page for the same model. Also I have reviews from magazine articles at the time that state the Aussie 240K GL is actually a GT model.

I'd be interested in knowing what the differences are between a JDM GT and and Aussie GL are apart from what you have already mentioned

What's the GT intake manifiold look like? I just picked up a 240K hardtop, but it has interior GT badges instead of GL. All external badges are missing.

  18. Ld28 crank in an L28 with a 60 thou over bore will create an L30.

If only it was that simple... it isnt. You need different rods and pistons too.

A friend of mine had a C210 2000GT turbo (the L20 6 with turbo) 4 door , years and years ago.

The report of the C10 in a wreckers. That would be a rare find in Australia. Was it ever confirmed. Probably a C110.
