local 1986 r31 gxe series 1 up for wrecking folks. maroon exterior. 203,000km when i got hit up the bum located in vic. albury wodonga. rb30 block gone into r33 rb30/25 project rb30 head available soon happy to separate. 5 speed gearbox full reco did about 5,000km (rebuilt dec '06) - $500 complete interior tan brown colour and all electrics available everything besides boot and rear lights are good to go. anything else just ask. cheers.

At this stage ive only swapped the dizzy as a whole unit. I havent bothered swapping just the CAS itself.

I've had all kinds of trouble a few months ago with my series 1 R31, it started kangaroo hopping and became rather undrivable. Got to the point where it would die after driving it for a while. If i left it overnight and came back it seemed to be fine. Gradually got worse. I was told it sounds like the CAS. I got hold of a VL distributer / CAS, but for the life of me cannot get the car to fire. I've had 2 mates with a pretty good idea reset the timing / rotor with no luck. After doing a fair bit of reading i've found the VL distributer is actually a different brand to the R31. It does fit, uses a different rotor, but nobody seems to be able to tell me for certain if the VL distributer DOES work in an R31, or if i've been wasting my time with this in my R31. So can anybody confirm 100% for certain if the VL dizzy/CAS will work in an R31 ? Im chasing a proper R31 dizzy at this stage in a last ditch effort.

I've gotten hold of a CAS / Distributer from a VL, but I cannot for the life of me get the car going in a months mucking around. I've read bits and pieces, but no concrete evidence if VL distributer is compatible or not, there seems to be mixed opinions, the VL / R31 do use different brands of distributer though. So im chasing an R31 distributer / CAS in good condition if anybody has one please let me know. My cars been garaged for a month now Would need to be posted as im not in the city. Cheers guys.
