Hi There, I only recently replaced the disc rotor's on my r33 gts-t sereis 2, (already have the EBC green stuff pads in). I got the new DBA slotted rottors and they feel great.... I would strongly recommend to get a pair for the front. Ps, I was told by someone (not that I believe them) that I should get Bendix Ultimates over EBC's???? they are cheaper but what do you guys think? cheers Rob

Thanks for that. I only have one amp, two sets of RCA's running to it from head unit. The sound is only from the front speakers (when sitting in the car, more from the front left - passanger side)... The rears are hooked directly to the deck and the fronts to the AMP... I'll play around with it a little more and see how I go... Just incase tho I ran the cables (rca and speaker wires) along the route of the old sepaker wires..

Another question for you all. I went and bought that noise filter you mentioned. It kinda works, but there is still a small buzzing sound from the front speakers and whines when you accelerate. Could it be anytyhing do do with the earth? (I attached the earth to the battery earth) It is sooo annoying. I have cheked all the wiring and all looks good. Cheers Rob

Thanks for the replies. Another question, After I installed everything: 6.5" front 6.5" rear CD player Amp sub. All worked perfectly for about a week.. Now I have the most annoying buzzing sound from the front speakers (which are connected to the AMP). The weird thing is the buzzing only happens when the engine is on... when your on ACC it's perfect.. Does anyone have any solutions or suggestions. I have basically re-wired the whole thing and the noise is still there.. It also has the whinning noise that gets higher pitch as you acelerate... Thanks

Hi There, I'm looking at replacing the speakers in the front and back of my R33 gts-t. Are the standard speakers 6" or 6.5" or even 6x9"???? and are the front speakers the same size as the rear shelf speakers? Thanks for your help.. Rob

From what I was told no. Cause that's what I said to the mechanic...

Hi There, I know this is not a skyline but wanted to see if anyone can help me out... My parents have a Toyota Camry (Ultima) 1991 4cyl 2.2ltr Auto. The engine decided to give up (only has 140K's on the clock). They are up for a new engine/reconditioned. the quotes they are getting are around the $3500 mark. Does anyone know where I can go or who to speak to about this? Is this a good price or should it be less? Thanks for your help. Cheers Rob

Help? How to wire alarm and Turbo Timer?
Robo replied to Dr_Drift's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I think I have the same problem except, I went and installed my Turbo Timer (HKS type-0). All works great except I can not activate my car allarm (I'm assuming it's cause my immobiliser at the ignition).... Anyone know any easy work around? Cheers Rob -
Hi there, I currently have stock wheels on my R33 gts-t (205/55/16 on all 4) Can I fit anything bigger on that size rim like 215/50/16 or 225/50/16? I will be getting some mags but need to drive to Melbourne soon so want to replace the rear tyres (too many drift's.....) Also If I was to get some slightly wider tyres is it alright to have the 205's on the front still? (or do I need to upgrade them as well) Once last question, can anyone recommend a good brand for my tyre size? Cheers Rob

A mate of mine has down a fair bit of research onb this topic... (Cops kept telling him his pod filter was illegal.. He ended up going through to the EPA (RTA didn't really do much). All it really needs to do (for a pod filter) is pass two test's. One is the emissions test, the other is sound test. I'm almost certain the K&N will pass the emissions test (and Apexi). Noise - the true way to do this is the EPA set up a mic on the side of the road and make you drive past at 70k's (or something like that) and if it goes over the certain limit in decibel's you have to fix it.. This info may not be entirely true or correct (It's what I saw written on a document by the EPA) so don't hold me against it.. Cheers Rob PS. I will contact my mate and ask him for the document and confirm if you like.. (that would be good to show the cops when they tell you it's illegal)

Help Does anyone know the size the adaptor needs to be to fit in front of AFM (for a pod filter)??? Is it 80mm (same as an 300zx)??? Cheers
-
Thanks for your replys. Hey Macka, how long does it take (roughly) to order and have it shipped to Sydney??? (sounds good) XrSiSt, Does that shop you mentioned (American Auto's I think) sell the bracket to attach the K&N to the AFM sell them seperately?? If so how much and where is the shop?
-
Hi Macka, Where can I get it for $200??? (APEXI Pod filter)

Hi Guys, Quick question, I'm just about to buy either an K&N air filter or an Apexi air filter(second hand) for $150 bucks and $250 (respectivelty), the K&N doesn't have the adaptor kit to suit the gts-t R33. I have attached a pic of the K&N. Anybody know how much this piece would be and where I can get it from? (Adaptor) Or I might buy the Apexi Air filter for $250 (second hand), Firstly does any one have any photo's of what it looks like - Apexi in the engine bay (or out), this one comes with the adaption kit but is it worth $250 bucks??? Thanks for your help. Rob

Yeah the stuff was Anti-Squeal in a tube... Worked for about 2 weeks. Hmm. Maybe I'lll have to do the good old slam the brakes on at 190 k's........ hahah Cheers Rob

Thanks heaps for your reply MarkZ. Unfortunately the thing is: 1) Pads are about 4 months old (heaps of pad leaft and prongs aren't touching as I bent them back) 2) I stuck all the shims together with this silicon orange goo stuff 3) Yeah I know the clips you are talking about (see attached pic) have them on as well. Even after all that they still bloody squeek..... Any other suggestions? Thansk for your help Rob

If I take everything appart, from the brake pad, there is: -> The brake pad -> 1st shim that attach's it self to the second shim (which clips onto the pad. -> then the silver shim which only covers half the pad.. Is that right? Cheers

Hi There, I recently put new brake pads in, EBC green stuff. occasionally when coming to a stop (from high or low speeds) they screech really really loud, ear piercing..... I have attached a pic of my brake pads and it just doesn't look right, should the shim only cover half the pad??? Thanks for your help Cheers Rob
