  1. thought u might like this, but this is my handy work.
  2. the large catch tank vents to the atmosphere. dont think the one on the rocker covers does much at all, except look pretty i did a nice job on the welding huh..not.thats bens fabricators handy work.
  3. i just plumbed the air filter under the frt guard, doesnt make as much induction noise now.
  4. fit your bleed valve to the hose that usually has the restrictor in it.
  5. as much as i like rb26, in a cobra an efi v8 is the go, existing engine would cost similar, but for the near $10k u have to spend on the rb26 to get 300kw plus u could whack a pair of turbs on the v8 and smoke the rb26. the yanks are running 8s with mustangs and 5ltrs with one big turbo
  6. i dont know of anyone making more than 350kw using 2530s on pulp. so i guess the answer is no
  7. ive just finished one on a r33. we started modifying the original gtst sump and to be honest, it takes some buchery. we cut the diff off the gtr sump and welded it up, much neater and i would prefer the extra capacity. the conversion looks simple, just dont underestimate the hours involved with all the bits an pieces u have to modify, if ur paying somone to do it, i reckon $2500 in labour is reasonable. so working on a $5000 rb26, the conversion should set u back around $8k if ur paying someone to do it.
  8. sounds too hard to me, it would be like transferring everything off my car except the engine and going from there. might be easier to just tear up $100 notes.
  9. as long as yours comes with a full tank of gas
  10. I know this wont surprise anyone that knows me, but got a decent offer on the car yesterday and considering taking it. Damn i get bored quickly, car is sorted and near perfect, nufin left to do...im bored now.
  11. definately not factory color, are the brakes brembo, hard to tell in the pics. wheels are also wrong offset by the looks in the pics.
  12. no, just spent too much
  13. think u will find trust and jun are the same just rebadged! i have used trust, hks and jun and via the guage all seem to perform similar
  14. So Dean was this the turbo setup whos presence I was in today? Niiiice. yep thats the one
  15. hopefully mine will hold up, i will let u know in a month or so, but it does have a baffled sump and a hks oil pump
  16. interested in the lock bar, if its s13 or r32, should come with blocking plugs to block oil lines. does it have these
  17. i have seen engines with bent valves and broken rings or ring lands still comp up ok. leak down is a better tool for diagnosing any problems. leak down pumps the cyl with air and the guage tells the % that leaks past rings, valves etc
  18. are u serious, i will prolly have 3 more gtrs and a few porsches by the time u get to the track
  19. ben has tuned a few rb20s for me, but never done a turbo as far as i know, im sure he would if someone asked though
  20. u guys are making my brain hurt. to be honest, i probably am a bit of a noob when it comes to all the technical stuff and to be honest , i dont have the time nor the interest. Find somebody competant who has the knowledge and who has done the r&d and use there expertise, most on here would know ben and prolly have heard of the garrets he uses, he has the big daddy on his r33 and leewah has the son of and i have the sister of. i put my faith in him, as i know he will always steer me in the right direction, i do all the spanner work, but leave the brain work to others we wanted to crank a bit more boost in, but detonation started to rear its ugly head and since this car will spend some time at the track, safe tune was paramount.
  21. no probs mate, dyno figures mean nuf to me, i prefer the (sotpd)..seat of the pants dyno!
  22. u could be right, to be honest, dont have the specs, i have trust in my turb guy and left it to him.
  23. bah what, u want that dyno sheet aswell or should i take a photo of the guage mild port job
  24. compression is standard i beleive, hks pistons. cams hks step 2, 280/10.20mm mobil synergy 8000 fuel standard 2.6 stroke. could prolly be improved with smaller cams around 260, but has a nice lumpy idle
