  2. Hi all,

If anyone is interested, we are offering a special price for our Paint Corrections. Basically its about a 4-5 hour 7 step polishing technique to remove most scratches (within reason) buff marks, oxidation, spiderwebs and swirl mark, to make the car look show room finish. The polishes we use do NOT have fillers in them like most on the retail shelves. I have just done my skyline and are most impressed with the results.

If you think your car is in need of a Correction, let me know via PM and we can go from there.

Normally our prices start from $275 for skyline sized cars, but we can do much better.

Here is a taste of what we did last weekend

  3. Get the engine warm, not hot. High pressure wash with a strong degreaser mix. Keep the car running. Once the car has dried. Get some CRC So Easy. Spray it under the bonnet (it will go white) once it dries, it will shine. Trust me. Easy as, Max time 30mins. Includes Drying time.

  4. Can i also point out, if you are doing a 'paint correction' as such. Before you start you must remove all your waxes that is on the car first. Use a dishwashing liquid of some sort that will revove all the wax prior to your clay bar.

The preperation before your polishing is 95% of the finished product. If you dont clay the car correctly. Expect swirl marks. Another little trick is, get a plastic bag (coles/wollies etc) put your hand in the bag and rub over your paint work. If it feels gritty the car needs a clay. Trust me it works. Menzerna's range of polishes are fantastic polish.

We did a detail today on a Black Honda Euro. The bonnet shots are two passes with a Rotary Polisher, you'll notice the difference in one side of the bonnet, we polished half the bonnet so you get the idea on a real 'Paint Correction'. Here are some happy snaps below

NAB establishes $1 Million bushfire relief fund

    Sunday, 08 February 2009

National Australia Bank today announced that it has established a relief fund of one million dollars for people and communities affected by the devastating bushfires across Victoria.

"Along with all Australians, we are shocked by the scale and impact of the situation", said NAB Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Cameron Clyne.

"Our thoughts are with those personally affected, and we offer our heartfelt support and encouragement to the fire-fighters and volunteers who continue to battle to save properties, towns and communities from the bushfires.

"The bank is ready to provide practical assistance and we will work with our customers, staff and communities to provide relief.

"We have a range of measures in place to support and assist people through times such as these, and we encourage affected customers to contact us when they can, to discuss the ways in which we can help", Mr Clyne said.

To discuss the relief measures available, customers should contact 136 NAB (136 622) from 8am Monday 9 February, or visit their local branch.

  6. Alex,

I think you'll find the little scratch marks are called spiderwebs. Well thats what we call it. It is caused from either the spounge or cloth you are using to clean the car. IMO your always gonna get them because water will never removed all the dirt before the wash.

When we buff cars, we will clean the car first, leave the car wet and use a cutting compound to cut into the clear coat that will remove those so called marks. The we'll wash the car again, and there is a few different steps we will take to seal the polish and apply the wax.

The wax will fill-in the swirl marks left by hand polishing or machine polishing. You will always get swirl mark no matter how you polish a car. Different products do different jobs.

My advise would be to get a decent cut, to cut into the clear (no to heavy) then apply your final wax/swirl remover to finish.

If your car is a dark colour the marks will stick out like dogs balls but thats just the way it is.

I use a product from 'Autosmart' is not avalible on the retail shelves i dont think but if your up this way drop me a line and ill help u out.

    Cheers Matt

  7. My skyline only got a little damage but it wasn't from the storms it was from the insane wind we had on Saturday. Lifted my car cover up (metal frame with canvas top) and dumped it half in my yard and half in the neighbours. I got most of the marks off the paint (front quarter, door and rear quarter all on the passengers side) so its time to find a decent detailer who will cut and polish to try and get the rest of the marks out.

If your up the sunny coast way , ill do your detail for you. Just give me a call, ill sort you a deal.

  10. Hi all

Woke up this mornin, jumped in the car for work and turned the key and... nothing. Only just did the gauge lights work.

Car hasnt been started for two days, got the thing to work and come home time turned the key and nothing again. Its only just done this in the last two days. Never had a problem before this.

All i d did was went into the boot to change my flat tyre.

Its a brand new battery 2 weeks ago... and i took it to the auto electrican dude and he said it could be a number of things. I did what he said like take out fuse untill the readings drop. But geezz i cant seem to find any power draw from anything.

I havent installed anything for ages that could be drawing power with the car turned off. so its getting it from somewhere...

Anyone else had this problem??? how did you overcome it???

Im going nuts here... I dont wanna call out RACQ 3 time in two days lol

    Let me know

    CHeers Matt
