  1. it is also about how much air could be shifted. Vs stock turbo to a GT40 at at a bar of boost, compensate half the timing to the GT40 it still makes more power. As for the same reason of why people don't install factory exhausts on a high powered cars. If the stock air box is only made for 250HP, it will obviously restrict and affect drive ability on a 500HP setup. A well made pod enclosure or a custom cold induction system will definitely help getting the best of both worlds.

  2. I've finally got some results sent in from our version of billet TD06SL2 off a S13 none VCT SR20det. It made 282rwkws on 18psi with E85 , it should just touch 300rwkws at full potential. This turbo is now available for $800 brand new for any one's interested. Far as I know the car has 264 cams with every thing else standard. And that is on a high mount T3 manifold externally gated.

That is mental for a Sr20det man. I've never seen any thing been able to do that on a SR. Great work

  3. Whoever purchased a ss2 running ext gate is in for a treat.

Just got my car tuned at chequered tuning

Initially got 295 but wanted to be safe so turned back the timing.

    So final =

    276rwkw

    18psi tapering to 16psi

    Full boost at 3800

There is an abundance of wheel spin and really quick acceleration . Very happy.

Its got about almost same result as the one on mine. But I had the smaller rear housing. Be interested to see results using Stao's new housing over lied with ours.

My ss2 arrived today, going in for tune + support mods on Monday

I believe you've got the latest SS2. did you end up getting yours tuned?

  4. HG just released a G2.5 version that appeared extremely promising.

The main reason I picked a HG SS2 is for the convince of bolton, saving time of running around and chasing bits, for me it actually worked out cheaper and I can't be happier with my end result (307rwkws with full boost at 3600rpms)

Performance level is very dependent on setups, same as every other turbos, I found HG's final results are far more concentrated, each and every model performs extremely unique in their own way. They are the most convenient internally gated turbos for a Rb25 turbo engines.

The Kandos are also making some good results, but getting there is far more involving. For a road car stick to the HG units.

  5. Some updates regarding to the Electric turbo. lol.

Now running duel roller bearing with 44V 6KW motor spooling up to 48000RPMs. Its makes very strong thrust. If i'm holding it on a skate board I'm pretty sure it will push me forward. Should've thought of making it into a back pack for a bicycle.

Since its working I'll be testing it on E85 in about 2 weeks time.

mmmm doesn't looks like a joke any more. electric turbos might soon be reality. what happened to that big billet supercharger you've working on stao?

  6. Hi Guys. I'm looking to buy a 96 model GTR that has been modified with a Queensland rego and engineering certificate for all the modifications. How ever I'm based in Victoria, could the Queensland engineering certificate be used in Victoria to have the car registered on Victorian roads?

Any one's done this before? Valuable feed backs would be appropriated. Thanks guys

  7. My SS2 made 290rwkws on 18psi and 307rwkws on 21psi, full boost around 3600rpms. very responsive and linear on road.

Price for a CNC billet turbo custom made for OEM bolton internally gated at given level of performance it is pretty cheap. if you want a bolton turbo that makes the power then that is probably the best turbo to go for.

Other wise there are plenty of options available for ext gated high mount setups, check the dynosection for their references.

  8. mods:S1 rb25det 116,000km, z32 afm, Hypergear SS2 turbo, 650cc injectors, cooler, exhaust, hard intake pipe.

    fuel: BP Pump 98

    power:307kw 19psi

    oil:Motul Turbo light

    useage: Daily

lifespan:about a year, still going strong.

failure: coil packes burnt, changed over to split fires, no problems.

comments: Excellent on road and fast daily.

  9. hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I want to see a boost graph, my guess is it's got a whole guts full at 140km/hr

The power to rpm ratio is wores then my 3540 mokup (hypergear atr45) while 160kws short. Looks very lazy and not making much power either. Not a very good turbo.
