Hi guys, Recently I crashed my precious skyline into a tree, luckily it only ruined the front right hand gaurd. I have tried a few places around Australia for Panels, I am just wondering who anyone can reccomend for good quality replacement panels for r33 skylines. So far I estimate from quotes I have received its going to cost around $300 for a front right hand gaurd. Does this sound about right?? Somewhere in W.A would be great. As I could steal dads ute to go pick it up Cheers :burnout:

Rust problem area in R33 (ALL R33 OWNERS READ )
glenmcrae replied to Burns's topic in General Maintenance
Fishaline? I have some fish oil based liquid that I got in a tin that is meant to be quite good in treating trust. Well stopping rust from spreading, I highly doubt anything but cutting rust out can undo the damage done cheers -
HELP! my car sounds like a frog/bird. :(
glenmcrae replied to glenmcrae's topic in General Maintenance
Thanks kjb_r33 Is it necessary to take the whole motor out to pull the gearbox off? or is there sufficient room to pull the gearbox and bell-housing from the locator dowells without touching the engine mounts? Cheers -

Is the thrust race partticularly important? the car seems to run fine, except for this noise? I would like to get it fixed, but if it means I have to get the whole gearbox taken out, maybe it will last a while until I modifiy the car, get it done then or something? I suppose it depends on what I am modifying. Is this going to be majorly detremental to any other component of my car? Cheers. -

LOL...cheers for the help Crooser -
    I haven't had my skyline for very long now ( about 3 months ) within the last month or so, it seems to have developed this wierdD, very wierd chirping / tweeting sound like you hear small frogs make in groups, or maybe a small bird with a high pitched tweet. lol, this is all I can think of that it sounds like. This is at a constant rate. I dont think it increases the speed of the noise when the rpm of the engine is higher. One thing I have noticed is that when I put my foot on the clutch, this sound dissapears. I release the clutch and it wil either come back straight away or gradually build up again. I tried listening closely from within the engine bay and under neath the car to pinpoint where the sound is coming from, but I have been unsuccesful. Has anyone heard of/ had this problem before? my car is a 5 speed manual. Cheers

Rust problem area in R33 (ALL R33 OWNERS READ )
glenmcrae replied to Burns's topic in General Maintenance
Hi Burns, After taking the front right hand gaurd off my car, and the right side skirting, there if a gap near where the skirting is screwed onto, at the front. Which has succesfully stored about 3 handfuls of dirt / leaves for the last few months at least. There were signs of minor surface rust, nothing major, but I am definatly glad I found it now not later I'd reccomend taking the skirting off both sides and giving it a good clean. Especially at the front near the framework. -
Compression Testing and silver stickers
glenmcrae replied to glenmcrae's topic in Cosmetic, Styling & Respray
Thanks MrMayhem. Is it illegal for people to sell cars claiming certain kms clocked in, knowing that the clock has been wound back? from a car yard eg: toyota dealer, selling this as a used vehicle. I have a feeling it would be breaching some agreement maybe even just within thewarranty I have with the dealer. Any ideas what the deal is with the law regarding this, thanks in advance. Cheers -
I have a 94 gts25t r33 skyline, it says its got about 56k on the clock, which i somehow find hard to beleive for a vehicle nearly 10 years old, the car seems to run fine, with the only thing replaced according to the car yard i bought it from being the clutch, and a few other things so it was eligable for complience. 1. My question is, how can I determine the real amount of kilometres it has driven? someone mentioned a compression test on the cylinders? ( I COULD BE QUITE WRONG HERE ) 2. It has a silver sticker on the engine with the nissan text, logo, some writing in japanese, and down the bottom a very clear 100,000km's written. Does this mean this car has had a 100k service????? I hope this isn't the case although I wouldn't be too suprised .. The car didn't have service history, so it is hard for me to tell what the deal is, it's running okay I say again, but I'd just like to know roughly what these things are.. Cheers
