  1. I have bought many items off nengun that have been well over the 1k mark you are meant to pay tax on and has never happened.

They generally break your items up into separate packages with a a divided value marked on the EMS slip. Import tax is really only flagged on people who they find are bringing in large quantities of a given item. Not the individuals.

in my experience your pretty safe to bring in individual purchases without import tax... just don't do a group buy :D

PS It will take a long time for your stuff to arrive with nengun... but they sometimes can't be beaten on price.

  2. I bought mine chopped up already (personally don't like it) probably gonna put 400r or stock.

Ya it only looks any good with the m-spec bar... not the early series 1 bars that you have.

It really is a easy job to modify.

I modified the reo just by using an angle grinder. then filed, sanded, primed and painted (so it doesn't rust)

the plastic front bar i modified with a quality industrial blade. to easy. the little gaps u are left with either side of the front bar can simply be plastic welded up. Keep the excess plastic you have cut out. Take to a quality body shop and they'll weld those holes up. Look like new (once re-sprayed of course)

The much harder task is if you are now modifying the bar to fit around an FMIC. I had to shave a heap off so many places to fit around the end tanks and piping (Blitz LM intercooler) but now looks the part. Quite an amount had to come off the back of the fake fog lamps (next to the indicators) as they went straight into the end tanks of the intercooler too.

  3. Hmmm..... Drifting on the street???? Thanks for admitting that to everyone.

Exactly right jezza. I think you will find that there won't be anyone in this club who will think much of bullshit driving on the street.

Thats why we have track days..... sxc_skylinee maybe just before to many people read this you might want to edit your post.

  4. Whoever is sending these Virul PM's to email adresses Get A Life.

I got a suspect PM from a user called "brickerza" the other week. was clearly a dodgy automated msg with a link that i never followed (but was hosted in russia......)

I'd be thinking someone has found a hole in this version of IP.Board...

  5. I see that half cage as a bit of a waste of time if you ever had a hard side-on accident (slide into barrier etc, quite common, more common than a rollover), that hoop would just crumble inwards, theres not even a horizontal support...would be good if you happened to roll the car though.

Can you actually have an ADR full cage with side intrusions?? ie legs from main hoop running down a-pillars and through the dash???

I think you can have a full cage as long as the intrusion bars are removable. In fact there is a street legal door to door category. I forget what its name is but obviously there cage is street legal... worth looking up there regs.

  6. Another vote for cobra here. I'm running an Evolution S. Just under 6ft but little frame (65kg). Seat is amazingly comfortable and the harness holes are at the prefect position for my height.

The biggest problem i ran into finding a seat was because I'm relatively skinny but not short any seat that fitted had the harness holes far to low. The only other option that sat great for me was recaro but WAY to expensive.

Ending up getting the evolution for under $1000 new on sale.

  7. Off the top of my head I cannot remember but if you do a search all will be revealed. I remember having to search for the exact same thing once upon a time.

Also how low are you trying to make your car? May be its just something funking going on with the camera shot but your wish bones look like they are in a horrible position.

  8. Hey all,

Currently halfway through doing a 100,000k service on my r33 gtst and in my kit from kudos was cam seals. Now i can only assume that these are seals that would be behind the cam gears but situated between the rocker cover and the head? If so i would think thats kind of an epic thing to do but anyway some help on that matter would be great as i can find zero information about people who have actually fitted these seals when i search.

My next query is realted to the intake cam gear. obviously there must be some moving parts to make its vvt side work but should the centre be filled with oil? started taking the little centre cover off to see how hard it was to remove the gear and oil started to leak out.

Any help would be much appreciated :D

    Cheers

  9. its very interesting reading threads like this as i've purchased off nengun 7 seperate times with no issues. All parts have arrived in 2-4weeks which im ok with. The package that has arrived has always been exactly what i have ordered and packaged safely for international travel. Also this is just luck i spose but have never had to pay duty on purchases over $1k (but this is up to customs)

I'm not going to deny other sources might get you parts from japan in a few days (for a cost) but considereing i have saved so much money from these guys i really dont care about the wait.\

I think i read earlier on this thread that someone claimed it took them three weeks to find nenguns email address...I hate to break it to you but i feel you may have not looked very hard... Maybe its just my luck again but everytime i have shot them an email with a question I've got a response within a day or 2...

So to sum up... take them how you will some people claim they are shit some claim they are fine.

  10. On the old skyline i had 2 gauges on the A-Pillar. During the major defect and getting the car re-engineered the guy sent a pic to the proper authorities and said that the A-Pillar gauges were legal.

If they cause no vision imparement out the windscreen its ok... if they do, then illegal....and since id say most people use the Greddy A Pillar thingy... most peoples would be illegal

  11. My mate got caught a lil whiel ago doing a bit of a skid his tough luck..

he got fined for loss of traction on one or more wheels.. as usual with this type of offense

and dangerous driving.. which is also pretty standard..

but he also got causing excessive smoke lol wtf is this anyone ever got that one?? its only a 200 and something buck fine but I think its the greatest fine I've ever heard of lol

I have never heard of it due to tyre smoke...but they can fine you for your exhaust smoking for to many seconds under acceleration why couldn't they for doing a burn out for to many seconds..lol

  12. It could be that your shocks need rebuilding and are not able to control the spring anymore or that you are not running your tyres at a high enough pressure. Sounds odd but with stiff suspension (and road tyres) you need to run your tyres pretty hard to minimize sidewall flex. You will just have to experiement with the pressures, but as an example i'm running about 38PSI with tein monoflex's. If your widewalls are flexing it wont allow the suspension to do its job and can result in a pogo like effect.

  13. I'm getting impatient .... has anyone bought a iphone outright/unlocked and using it on the 3 network?

Sure 3 only has 3g coverage in metropolitan areas but there data plans are just so much better value than the rest..

No doubt 3 will eventually sell the iphone but at the end of the day its all just rumor as far as i'm aware so far and no official word from the telco.

    but i want one now....

  14. from what I've been told by my mechanic whome I trust (unigroup) 10W40 is the right viscosity for a R34 GTT with 64k ... which is pretty similar to your car.

They reckon all the brand name fuss is a lot of nonsense and if you change the oil every 5000k it really doesn't matter which brand .. they use 'Hi-tec' which I believe is a local brand.

I agree that if its for street driving (at low to mid rpm) cheap oil is an ok option as long as you are doing changes every 5k and no more! If you do ever decide you want to track it (or drive on the freeway in 2nd) don't go cheap on oil as you want something thats not going to break down at high engine temps.

I would say tho try and stick with fully synthetics and a 10w40 would be a quite adequate weight for street driving although i personally go 5w50 (mobil 1 fully synthetic) But i do use it on the track...i also over fill by about 500ml to try and stop potential starvation at high rpm/fast cornering.

    Cheers

  15. hey im buying springs and was wondering if i should do the job with friends or go to a suspension place and do it. my friends done this kinda thing before but my other friends are saying its too dangerous

Personally I am one for doing as much as i can myself as i hate paying huge hourly rates and im all about learning. Changing springs really isnt a massive job and as long as you have a spring compressor (or 2) the job is really quite easy.

    Cheers

  16. Hey dude, what company or network do you work for??

might have seen you around if you ever do gigs in Crown.......

Not so much any more as i do mostly musical theatre work now days (mainly with a company called system sound) but I use to do a bit of work in crown with a couple companies, Outlook and Advanced Audio.
