    Thanks mate.

  2. lol....

i have finally spotted another V35 sedan, in the same navy blue colour as mine today!!!!!

he had the 'poor man's' version though...no camera, no nismo bodykit, and was running 16" rims...didn't look like a premium version also...but then again, i could be wrong as i roared past him on my way home from Kingsway onto the M1 freeway ramp...looks like he had his gf/wife with him and was on his way into the city....

mind u, he was asian like me....lol...

May be that is a 250GT, that is why it sit on 16'

  3. This time, let's be more organised, can someone bring some labels? so that we can write our name and member ID... I am terrible with names...

LOL. mate, No need for the stickers for you. just bring a dozen of "siu long bao" so they can share after coffee. LOL. in that case everyone know you.

  4. Sorry for hijacking this thread AND harrassing Frank, but its all good info...

    So, I'm currently HID-less. :/

Would you consider it a good option Frank to buy the aftermarket HID's HERE

The Projector Kit from HERE ...RHD of course.

and shrouds to bling it up a little HERE

And will all that work together in blissful harmony?

    Hi mate:

what kind of headligth you get. I though all the 03+ coupe headlight came with HID and may or may not been removed by compliance.

    Frank

  5. As has been said, great post.

Do I take from your point 3 & 4 that whilst the factory ones are good, your opinion would be that a retrofit of the ones such as is being run in the group-buy are a better option if you are coming from compliance-spec butchered parts?

    Sorry for the unclear points.

    for point 3:

For pre 2006 coupe the factory HID is not bad at all. If you after colors, just throw in a set of 6000k D2R bulb from ebay for $40, 1 set of Blue tint H4 for color match. Done. no need to upgrade as the output after upgrade is not surprise at all

the Pre 2006 coupe head light came with factory reflect bowl HID for low beam, H4 reflect bowl for High/Fog. The performance is not bad at all. Only if some people like the HID a bit bluer, a set of 6000k D2R bolb will fit perfect. The blue tint H4 for High/Fog will make two part of light color match.

The Group buy is just a simple aftermarket PNP HID kit. They are no better than the OEM hid expect the bulb is newer. If you already have OEM HID, no need to change to that.

Regarding the Retrofit, I mean get the OEM projector into headlight housing like this

    orig.jpg

Buy doing this, you will have the best performance and OEM look.

  6. ok guys best price they got back to me with

$130 USD Delivered Each for 5-10 Units

in my opinion, maybe it will not be worth our while to continue with this GB.

There is little - no margin on the JWT Popcharger the only thing we would be saving on is shipping itself.

By the time i send them to the interstate people, it would be around the same if you ordered them yourself.

im putting an end to the GB.

    Not worthwhile pursing.

    -Mark

    Thanks mark for hard work.

  7. From My experence: I had done plenty of job to my coupe headlight:

    1. Restore factory HID been remove by compliance. (D2R)

    2. Upgrade the Lower High beam/Fog to H4 HID ( Which is totaly waste of money)

    3. Upgrade the whole headlight to 06 projector one.

    4. Upgrade the driving light of 06 headlight to HID (6000k)

    5. Upgrade the low beam to 6000k to match color (D2S)

    6. Change the city light of 06 light to white color to match HID

    7. Change the bumper turning light to LED ( Not satisfied, try to find a better way)

    8. Current working on a project of QUAD HID projector with QUAD Bi-Xeon.

From what I Know about the light:

    1. To install the HID or do anything about headligth. If you want to do it fast, safe and not hurt yourself, remove the bumper, it only take you 20 min but save plenty of time to dig everthing from the exetrm narrow enging bay.

    2. Upgrade the low section-Fog/high to HID is not a good idea.

No only a set of good chinese H4 Hi/Low Telescopic HID cost aroud AUD $150-$200.( the one can slide forward and backward to work both as High/Low)

Also the output is uneven, unsafe. blind everyone on road and make you looks stupid.

Also the reflect bowl is design for Halogen bulb, it work really bad with HID bulb by spay plenty light to the unnecessary area, that is reason why it looks bright outside but not bright for driver's eye.

    3. For pre 2006 coupe the factory HID is not bad at all. If you after colors, just throw in a set of 6000k D2R bulb from ebay for $40, 1 set of Blue tint H4 for color match. Done. no need to upgrade as the output after upgrade is not surprise at all.

    4. For the best output and look. Go for retro fit.

    Cheers

  8. hey guys im looking to get a JWT pop charger and Z tube along wid maybe a HID kit soon of ebay. Can i trust what im buying is original. The JWt pop charger and Z tube are going for bout $190 U. S .

do not go for the cheap HID kit from eday. You will disappoint for it output.

    Go for some thing better.

  9. hmm... i wish that there was some way that skylinesaustralia had a dedicated area that was solely for selling car parts and related items...

like some sort of a sub forum ya know?? i mean we really should have one with all the members we have...

don't you guys agree? that we should set up a for sale area? someone should get onto someone about it...

That idea has been out for a while, due to some reason, the admin team decide to put for sale within the " V" form..

I am OK with it as there are only a few for sale or to buy request came out every week.

  10. Is it possible to buy just the projector to fit 03 lamps?

Of course you can. That is what I am working on. I choose the 03 head light instead of 06 projector because 2 reasons:

    1. 03 have the clear city light script on side where 06 does not. which is more make sence and easier to put the AUDI style LED script there.

    2. to get the best output on the 06 projector we have to modify the shield, clear lense and add washer, the proper clean lense cost USD $30, don't mention the works need done to modify Shield. To avoid those hassel, I just purchased the already modified FX-R projector, Which is also RHD.

Any how. no matter which one you start with. there will be a lot of modification work to mount the projector.

    Good luck.

  11. How long have you owned your V35 for? 3 years to 14th of SEP

Where did you buy it from? (import, private, dealer): Import by myself with help of J-SPEC.com.au

What type of V35? (Coupe/Sedan,Manual/Auto): 03 Auto Premium Coupe

How much did you pay for it? $37k back to 06

How many problems/faults have you had with it (please give detail): NONE for 3 years

How much has it costed repairing these problems?: Nil

How much do you get out of a full tank of petrol?: Being to long, too lazy to count

And lastly, 0-100, how fast do you reckon? Daily drive never tested.

  12. V35 parts arent as common as say S13s or A R33s which can commonly be found wrapped around poles and trees in most neigbourhoods making spares easy to find

    Thanks mate for support.

I know there are very few parts around. So far I only saw on write off V35 for parts. The owner of werker asking for $900 for that driver side 03 light, LOL. I am not willing to pay $900 for one single headlight.

    Cheers

  13. Hi guys,

I just want some feed back on which colour i should spray my rims. They are the oem 18inch alloys on an 03. Looking at spraying them either gloss black or matte black. What do you think will look better.

    Cheers

    I personally like Gunmetal.

Also depend on what color is the car you going to put on.

    Cheers
