  1. so the head has been cut, scraped, shaved, die grinded, tested, flow benched and tested some more for the last month. the day before im suppose to get it back (after already being delayed a week) they find out that the cam that i have is for an r34 and needs a different crank angel sensor. so all the cutting and shinning that has been matched to these cams is up shits creek. the new valve springs are alot heavier than the old ones so the standard cams will struggle a bit and not run quite right. im out of time and need the car back so have no option but to take it in its half done state. pissed off does not begin to describe it...... im glad they noticed but still can not understand why it was not picked up sooner. to those eagerly awaiting time slips and dyno read outs if you can find me an r34 crank angel sensor i would be in debt to you forever and you'd get the readouts first. thanks for listening to my vent... cheers

    Neeeeeed

hey im in brissy and need an r34 crank angel sensor to get my baby running. shot me a pm on here or better is to sms me on 0422516620 cheers
  3. looking for any one in brissy who has a 9mm lift 264 duration hks cam RB25 R33 series 2. I have one but it turns out its for r34. brand new, looking for a trade please F#$% i need this bad. if anyone can point me in the right direction cheers.
  4. thats a bargin guys!!! my custom mades where 870 bucks. bit different cause there tune lenght but shit that price is still awesome. great job eug.
  5. damn monster your like a few days to late. grabbed a new racing belt the other day and idler bearing is on the way but thanks i'll keep that in mind, im sure i'll be building again in the not to distant future. as for twin throttle bodies no have no plans as such, yet. seeing how this package goes then moving onto a twin throttle setup if i feel the need. the inlet runners beind made larger was on the books but this will only be done if it shows up on the flow bench that we'll see gains. it still being played with and little things being changed and the gains are really starting to pile up. as for the copper head gasket we've worked out all the comprension ratings to give her as much as she can handle with just a normal head gasket. bearing in mind that if an rb30 bottom end was to go on the compresion would increase again. whats mb?
  6. if its NA get a good panel filter with a large catch chamber. not to expensive and it works really well. put in a heat shield and intake is done.
  7. i looked into because it looked pretty good but the only real gains you get are in your air intake because they just can't do it anywhere else. ie your inlet manifold. so you still have to get a good porting job anyway. when i sent my head down i paid to get the inlet cleaned up anyway so any gains that extrusion honing would have gotten me i'll get, and then some. i also wanted my inlet split to get more flow again which again you need to get done at a good porting shop. if anyone has any more ideas like this please let me no. still keen to pick up any extra power i can and still a few days left to do so.
  8. sorry to disapoint boys but will be a few more days before engine is back together having trouble sourcing good quality idler bearing. exit runners still causing concern with the flowbench readings. looking to be back together and on the road by wed next week.
  9. hell no thats just crazy. after market style all the way. started at 4.8kg just took bits and pieces out and balenced it with new clutch. all the added power with such light weight fly clutch combo the short tail shaft of the sil big lsd and big tyres i can see my gearbox going boom if im not to careful.
  10. the exit runners on the head how important are they once you have a good set of pipes? im tempted to tell the guy grind them out but not sure if its going to kill flow rather than help it. has anyone here removed them and what sort of results did you see?
  11. yeah do you know what sort of price there talking? not sure if it will be worth it at this stage. for longevity of the motor it probably is but outright speed i don't know it would be that benificial? just got short shifter in and fitted it feels pretty nice. keen to see how she runs. flywheel is now machined up and ready to go in. total weight 4.2kg. bit worried bout how she'll be driving around on the street but im sure once i learn how it feels it will be fine. just checked up on head and its looking good for monday which means head goes on 20th tuned on the 23rd.
  12. obviously when you start running that sort of compression things wear alot faster if you don't do it right. thats why i've spent so much time on the head to get it right which left no money to balence the bottom end. with that in mind red line will probably be about 7500. if i can find a descent harmonic balancer i might stretch it out to 8000. everything that i've done to date have been at a tune length. paid through the ass for tune length custom extractors. cams that have power band that line up with that and a port job that reflects that as well. basically that means that it won't be the highest total hp i could have gotten but it will be the hardest accelerating and constatly be in power band when you drive it right. I haven't seen an rb25 built to this extent and this quality so im interested to see what sort of power i get. i know that some of the boys here have ported rb30de's but lifting and machining buckets angel cutting all round and high compression to my knowledge hasn't been done. if someone has seen this and can give me an idea of power to expect pleae let me no.
  13. not saying you don't get advantages but there are much easier and cheaper ways to go about getting that extra response. once those things have been done for sure look into it. sorry to say lads but machineing and shimming buckets taking alot longer than they thought due to the increased lift. they a bit worried about bending valve shafts with the increased duration combined with vvt. after a big weekend head will be back to me on monday, fingers crossed. for anyone in the know what is a resonable price for a cam belt and a new set of bearings. since the motor is apart anyway it makes sense to hit it all now.
  14. those of you who frequent these formus will remember not to long ago i did a write up on my car well i've changed direction and kept it rb25 and gone hi compression. looking at anywhere from 11.5:1 to 12:1. did alot of work to the head including lifting all the buckets getting all the valves reseated and 5 angel cut ( takes a long time is expensive but its the best!!) new valve springs and of course a port and polish. getting the intake polished and the manifold double split. getting the whole lot balenced before she goes back on to. slotted in new fuel rail to support 440 injectors. big cams, cam gears blah blah blah. forgotten a few things im sure but you get the idea. After many weeks and many long hours i get her back this week and put it back on this weekend. so if anyone is after figures i'll have them next week after she goes to the tune shop. as for ITB's i did alot of research on cost gains everything and they just not worth it. the gains you get can be gotten elsewhere for much cheaper and its nothing you can't tune around if you have a good computer and a tuner who knows what their doing. that being said the sound and look is unbeatable.
  15. you speak the truth thats for sure. I've got an NA silvia and it sounds sweet as but it cost. do it right the first time good exhast with two good quality mufflers and don't make the mistake of going to big.
  16. from memory they 270cc someone correct me if im wrong!
  17. as anyone on here got or used a carbon fibre tailshaft? just wondering if the benifits are worth the cost?

    Rb25 Bits

just looking for a few things to get the silvia moving individual throttle bodies if anyone has some where from and where they worth it? harmonic balancer for rb25 voltage regulator any other go fast bits that you think might be of interest. Its an rb25de series 2 motor
  19. should be a great event im getting the silvia cleaned up, legal and bringing her out. this will be my first cruise as part of the SAU club and would love to meet some of you guys out there. P.S if you are wondering y im in SAU with a sil as the name implies its RB25 power. (nothing but RB )
  20. didn't want to under do the injectors nothing worse than running out of fuel. went to 440's from the word go so that i don't have to upgrade for a while. i went the wolf because thats what was recommended to me. spoke to a few people and they all seemed to rate them. took a while to get right but once it was i couldn't be happier it really pulls hard now. damn that hand controller is ugly though. keep it in the glove box!!
  21. for those interested i just bought a set of 440's to go into the silva just have to get them cleaned and flowed and in they go. they off to get the shit tuned out of it then to willow bank to see what sort of quater she can do. tuning is still going to take a while so for anyone out there with any ideas of what else to do please keep them coming.
  22. do you have the resistors needed? interested in selling or not really?
  23. interested in those injectors let me no if your keen to sell. questions will these fit rb25de do i need resistor pack if i have wolf 3D. let us no im keen for these soon as.
  24. what the hell have i done!!!!!! while i enjoyed reading the said view points im leaning towards not bottling just yet so any ideas that are cost effective and work. 3L bottom end yes is very interesting i even went as far as buying one and getting it ready to put in. i ended up keeping the 25 because after see her evolve im a bit in love with her. and by all reports the 3L bottom ends just don't rev as hard as the 25 ends. so does this mean that without opening her up i've done as much as i can.
  25. true but it only good for a quater run. are you still considered NA if you have nos?
