Hi all, I've recently had some work done to my r32 gtr, (larger injectors, boost increase, adjusted cams) and have had a retune (nistune). I've driven the car and competed in a hill climb, and all is well, however all of a sudden was unable to start the car. After investigating- turns out the injectors are high impedance not low (was advertised as direct replacement - I guess that doesn't mean anything!). I've now removed the resistor and it's now running again. So my long winded question is - would it need to be retuned now the injectors are getting correct ohms/power? Or doesn't it make a difference? Was strange how it was running well for a week....

Hey all - I've got the gtr tuned with nistune, however I'm looking at adding another high flow muffler to reduce some noise (and adding a cat converter) would I need to get it retuned? Does nistune retain some ability to alter settings on the go?

Hi all, I thought I'd share some pics of my unknown brand brake pads and standard rotors after completing 2 x20min sessions of hard driving, with another 20 stint at a slower pace after the brake fluid boiled! Goes to show how important it is to have good working and high functioning brake components!

Thanks for your help Scotty - and your right the plugs aren't that hard - well they are compared to my gtr without a coil pack cover!

Awesome - thanks for the info. I fortunately don't get any burnt oil smell! Yeah I pulled a couple of plugs - gap was good - also was nice to see good quality platinum plugs in there as its a bi!&ch to get too!

Hi all, I have had some idling issues in a m35 stagea (vq25det) so I looked at my spark plugs. I have found oil in the chamber where the coil pack lead runs - and all over the spark plug. The spark plug was dripping with oil but from what I can see it is from the oil in the chamber as there does not seem to be oil in the piston area. Any ideas on what's wrong?

hey guys - thanks for your replies. Turns out that it looks like someone has broken the steering lock in a previous life - bending the steering column sleeves that allow for reach adjustment. So she is seized up and non-adjustable - simple fix was a boss kit spacer to get some more reach! H4x - I ended up drilling the damn things out! but I tried your method on the new barrel (as the bolts were still in there) and it worked a treat!

Been a while since I started this post! I got it fixed for the quoted 400 - did a great job, no leaks, and replaced a few hoses. The guy even polished the intake plenum up for cheap too - looks good! Down side is there must be a slight leak elsewhere as it still idles at about 11-1200 (better then the previous 14-1500!)

Hey guys, I have pulled apart the steering column surround to have a look at why the telescopic adjustment is not working (dying for another inch of steering reach!) on my R32 GTR. Once the surround was removed I have discovered that the steering lock mechanism/bracket is broken - therefore not allowing the steering to be locked. I have no idea how to remove the damn thing as there are no screw/bolt ends?! I'm guessing they are security bolts of some sort, and I could drill them out. The question is - once removed how do I bolt on a new one? - can the ignition barrel be swapped to a new bracket so I can keep the same key (to match boot/doors etc)? Also - why on earth wont the damn steering adjust reach (tilt works)? Cheers

Cheers guys - after a bit of thought, I decided to contact a different import mechanic, whom has only quoted my $400 to do the job! Considering its a relatively small amount of money (compared to my original quote!) - well worth having someone else take on the task. Strange tho as I'm slightly saddened that I wont get the chance to be in the shed for a few days with my head under the bonnet (I think us car fanatics are a strange breed!)

Hi, I've got my eye on a M35 Stagea, however there are a couple of issues that I would like to know prior to purchase. The guy (importer) has told me that the screens are disconnected for compliance, and will require to be plugged back in - is this true? Also, the engine check light was on and I was told that it is due to needing new spark plugs - is this also true? I just would like to be sure before I hand over the cash!! Thanks guys.

Hi all, I'm considering having a go at removing the intake plenum to replace the leaky intake gasket. I've searched and have a comprehensive tutorial from another web forum, plus the R32 workshop manual. Any tips or suggestions before I get stuck into the car? Is the task as bad as some have suggested? My major concern is replacing the many hoses - which looks like you are unable to actually see where they go! Cheers

Hey guys, very early this morning my dog woke me up - so I went and looked outside and there was a skyline up in flames! I feel for the owner. Spotted a black 4door R31 driving down main north this moring on the way to work. He was reving and swearing in frustration at the lights, swerving between traffic, tailgating, and cutting people off. Seriously mate, calm down, life is way too short to be stressed! Plus that with all your manovers, I was behind you at every set of lights cursing along in my daily. Your car sounds pretty tough tho!

Saw a tough looking silver 33, on South Rd at about 12pm last night - nice 2ft of flames out the rear!!

I think simple and stock is the best look! Tough cars out of factory - why mess with that!
