I am not sure if my cars the same as yours as I have a big ass ABS unit taking up the passenger side.. Your description had me looking around the area shown in the picture below... i cannot seem to find a hole though... it is doing my head in... HELP pics would b great.!

yeh its not the hose for the boost gauge as its electronic.... its just a wire...

I took mine off when replacing my stock dump pipe with s steel piping... Haven't had any issues.. the old heat shield looked gross and doesnt do jack... now i can see s steel piping and it has cooling advantages 4 the turbo :-P This was on a 33 btw.... Just make sure no air con tubing runs near your turbo area...or well anything ...

i am also looking to do this.. I am pretty sure we need to do this by runing it off the speedo wire from the std ecu... The purple wire In mine is connected to the hand brake sensor though....for the safety shutoff...I guess it may work if you just bridge that wire from the hand brake to the ecu? as in the manual it says purple is the speedo wire... hmmm.. not to sure which one on the ecu is the speed sensor. I have same greddy t timer... you can dowload the manual for it from greddy.com.... as mine came with japanese instructions.
