Brenton: For the Gregorys Service manual, does it have to be the skylines manual specifically or would the manual for other cars teach me the basics too? Cos since im planning to get a lil bunkie the service manual for that may help! Also im not too sure if what I have is any good, but I found a copy of the Nissan Skyline R34 Service manual online as a PDF? Ill link it here for everyone in case its useful .. perhaps i could get an old unrego'd R31! i saw a few on gumtree for <500 bucks
http://www.scribd.com/doc/5332929/Nissan-Skyline-R34-Workshop-Manual-English - is this any good?
The Haynes performance one looks great! Will pick that up and maybe one or two more haynes has on mechanics etc
thanks for the suggestion
MAte i used the R31 a sugestion, that was my first car and one that i used to build my knowladge base. Any gregorys manual can be of use, as most late 80's early 90's cars and todays cars are very similer, (newer cars thos feature a lot of electronics, which screw things up). But if you wona pull a car apart for shits and giggles to learn on, i would go somthing from the 80"s period as they are very basic and have plenty of room to wrok around.
As every one has being say just read read read, and ask questions.

IF you can get your self a copy of a gregorys manual (R31 skyline) this can help you learn basic termonaligy, parts of the car, and basic diagnosis.
Thier is also a haynes performance manual, basicly cover a range of topics from engine dress up, what tuner and ecu to use, the diffrence between turbo, n/a, supercharged. basic handerling. can be got from most auto shops.

IS a shame, i think one thing that killed it was lack of exsposer in australia as i had only ever seen old edition avalable at JB HIFI.

Side ways and forwords at the same time, so diagonal towords the center of the car from memory. When i get the pics you will be able to see.

Better of spending some dosh on aftermarket ADJ coil overs. The only way to replace the origonal ones is with after market springs and shocks.
Which can some times cost more (desent spring and shock combo) V a matached pair of ADJ coilovers.
IF you wont spring/ shock combo consider kingsprings and bilstin.
or for coilovers. The BC range has had good reports.

Ok looking to upgrade the diff in the gtst. Was considering shimming, but have almost pretty much decided to go agenst that idea. Why would i shim it when i have to pull the center out any way, why not put a mech center in while the other is out.
I have being looking threw the drive line thread but still havnt found an answer to my questions.
From what i understand a s13 R200 diff is fully compaterble with the R32 r200 diff, same for s14 but thier could be a diffrence between ABS equpied ones and non abs ones.
1 way or 1.5 way diff. The car is 90% street and i wont it to be a street car, with the ocational motakana/ drift work. I ask this as thier is a cusco 1 way rs lsd on ebay for $500ish http://cgi.ebay.com.au/JDM-Cusco-1way-type-RS-LSD-R200-Silvia-240sx-S13-S14-/180652991231?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a0fc1e2ff
other wise im looking at a 2nd hand nismo 1.5 way (and if i realy must will buy brand new and get the pro type)
how ever im trying to stay on a budget.
Any sugestions welcome.

Hey Ash,
Very nice work on the vid.
Biggest thing i found is, the R34 seemed to be more of the center of attention then 31. Every time you and mick were being filmed the 34 was thier, you should realy have put the 32 thier as it is the center of attention.
Also some more wide shots of the car, just got up to the part when u drive the car and thier is probly only one or two decent wide shots of the whole car.
Defently need some action shots agan showing the whole car. im not shore if you take it to calder or track meets but if you do would be a good idea to throw these in as Well.
Hope this helps
