  1. My car is 100% a target. Bright green, mismatched rims atm (need spacers hehe) T wing, runs rich / backfires - the works.

Yet after being pulled over twice in one day (on my way TO a cruise funnily enough) not once did my bonnet go up. Since then I have been pulled over 3 or 4 times - I could set a record here... but not once have I been defected.

I attribute this to 3 possible factors:

    1) being female - that initial look of surprise is precious. they always have to look twice to see if someone else is in the car. Then the first words out of their mouth --> "Do you own this vehicle?". I never used to think it made much of a difference but when you are in a pig like mine, they always have to ask...

    2) I am polite, and not looking shit scared/suspicious when pulled over. I know I've done nothing wrong, and that its just a random check. And despite them thinking I might have illegal parts / devices in my car, if I dont make them suspicious, they wont take it further. I suppose the fact that I dont speed etc makes a difference. If people are caught 10 - 15km over then they would have more reason to search your car.

    3) Sheer dumb LUCK - I lived in Mandurah and recently moved to perth. Never been pulled over before until I moved to the city. Cant explain that other than that there would be more police up here :D

  2. after my crash - i got the 32 fixed up alll right n tight, bar a few mis matched panels...

drove it to Kermits with PVC piping as the fmic pipe substitute (dont ask - we had no other way to get it there) and he welded the good stuff on

went to pick it up... and finally wanting to hit gate cuz i hadnt heard it in MONTHS and whaddayaknow...

100m down the road, the fan was on the piss and i didnt realize (drove fine off boost), but as soon as i opened him up, it ate through my power steering belt, my NEW radiator, destroyed the water pump itself, and pretty much confirmed that I needed to replace everything it touched...

had to get it towed home again and a few weeks later was fixed... a second time

Live and learn I guess. Coodoes to kermit for doing a bang up job though, much <3

*edit - got my water pump from nissan on canning hwy - only $120 :bunny:

  3. Hey Kel - sad to see this happen, Ryan and I were shattered when you told me!

I do miss that car hey, even with his old shitty white bits he had character ^.^ To see him go from that to what he is now, you have done really well, im glad you kept the car.

I had my 32 keyed in a few places on a few separate occasions, people just dont give a crap. I'm paranoid about leaving my car out the front of any house, just over-protective I guess :)

Here's to moving on, and hoping to hell that Karma works.

  4. it was fun, despite getting singled out cuz i was at the front of the line - Mr Policeman was very nice. A bit surprised to find me behind the wheel but then we had a laugh about it. And I was allowed to go without a second glance at my car. Phew.

  5. Wellllll, for a Saturday night, I'm not sure whats on in the area, but the only places I can think of are:

    1) The parking area next to the skatepark behind the old bridge (Western foreshore) Its big-ish but if the circus is still there it may be full

    2) The other side of the forum carpark ... The end not next to the cop shop hehe. Only drawback to anything in that carpark is also speed bumps, but if my car can make it without scraping, anyone can do it. There arent that many actually.

+EDIT - The skate park area is not far from the forum, just down the road about 2 or 3 minutes. In case anyone didnt like my description since it sounds hard to get to ^.^

  6. They are indeed solid little beasts ;)

Most people don't believe me when I say my car is 18 yrs old. It sounds like a long time and i guess it is, but in general you can be assured (most) people who own these kinds of cars do take good care of them. You can see if they have been 'let go' as it were, and who keeps things tidy.

Any kind of service history they can provide you with is always good. Some cars come with a hand-full of receipts/invoices in the glove-box. If you see things replaced that indicates something dodgy went on, like a smash repairers receipt, beware

Ive had mine for just over a year now, and he's not skipped a beat engine wise, only comment that i noticed people have with GTS-Ts relates to idle issues, but they are easy to troubleshoot and usually easy to resolve

I did have a minor bingle but that was mostly cosmetic, and my own fault... :D

  7. mine has the same issue, thought it might be the afm, since when it was on cold start he was fine, no such luck though. lately in hot weather he's been sitting fast at 1200 for no good reason, not a boost leak either. *shrugs*

he still does it occasionally, but a little heel/toe here and there stops the rare conking out ;)

might try the IAC myself, thanks Wheezy :D

  8. you are damned either way indeed!

if you do the speed limit on kwinana freeway people look at you like you're some kind of freak of nature  but as soon as you overtake someone you get the usual shake of the head 'tut tut'

i never used to speed, but in my car, if you arent being a sheep you have to cop a lot of flak for not doing 140 on the way to work

  10. was in my mates liney and we were cruising up near the freeway entrance at joondalup when we spotted a hot lookin late model mercedes benz, so we cruised up closer to get a better look. when we got next to it my mates car let of a low flutter when he hoped of the gas, anyways the f**kn buisness man prick must have taken offence to this, no idea why and he starts cutting us off for no reason and pulling finger signs and shit, everytime we wud try to get past he wud cut us off and then brake hard on the freeway!!!, he was even driving in the middle of the two lanes so we culdnt get past

funny thing was some middle aged bogan looking dude in a falcodore saw what was happening and threw an orange at the merc hahaha,

    talk about unexpected allie

lol ive had that happen before on the freeway, you just happen to have a little bit of flutter and people think you are 'hooning' around - seems to provoke a lot of anger, which you cant but attribute to some level of jealousy :(

  11. I was leaving for work about 5am one fine Saturday morning, and some lovely group of guys (no doubt on their way home from Friday night antics) decided it would be amusing to try and play silly buggers with me. Started swerving into my lane, and when we pulled up at the lights and they proceeded to shout obscenities from the window of their ute.

When I promptly refused to 'take the bait' (noting we were about 100m from local cop shop) they took off, but slowed down again to about 30km/h, i slowed down too since i didnt fancy pulling up next to them for fear of being swerved off the road.. they threw their maccas out the window at my car :( They missed me but that could have been messy.

I pulled into the bus port so they pulled away, but my god it made me mad.

I don't fancy being run off the road just because im in an import and some bogans in a white ute decide they dont like jap cars. It doenst make sense.
