  1. No, it's always been manuel, but the steering wheel has been changed on it. It came from Japan with a momo steering wheel. But to register it here, in needed the airbag. So I had to get that steering wheel fitted.
  2. I don't remember the brand, it was a couple of years ago now when I bought it. It's fibeglass reinforced though, which makes all the difference. (Visible from underneath)

  5. Hey guys, I've got an R34 GT-t with a standard turbo and intecooler, standard air box, and a big but silenced exhaust. (It was at 110db, so i had to fit the silencer) My problem is that my turbo is making more and more of a scratching noise each week. I sometimes don't let the turbo timer go for too long, and i think that is adding to the problem. And I think the silence is messing up all my pressure, but i don't know if this would mess with the turbo. Early cold mornings the scratching noise seems worse? which i can't understand why. Or maybe thats another noise. But all the time when accelerating with boost i get this noise... What are your throughts on the noise. Do you think the turbo might be burnt out, and flaking. Is it time for a new one? I plan to remove the silencer shortly and compare. I'll see how I go then and let you guys know. PS. I'm still not too used to the car, and don't know what is and isn't a normal noise too well. Thanks
  6. Ok, i worked it out. The Air Bag system went in to diagnostic mode. And needed to be reset. To do this, i had to open the car door, then insert the key in to the ignition, turn it to the on position, and then open and close the door 10 times in 10 seconds. then turn the ignition off. And the Air Bag system was then reset. Everything is now back to normal (very happy) I learnt how to do this from a few sites: http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/222739 (this one is the one i used) http://www.auto-talk.net/how-to/infiniti-g...-g35-coupe.html http://www.auto-talk.net/how-to/infiniti-g...-g35-sedan.html So yeah the car is working fine, and hopefully one day if i crash the Air bag system for the passenger seat still works.
  7. Hello all, I bought an R34 GTT a while ago, i went to get a safty certificate in QLD and was told my steering was too small. It had a momo steering. So i went out and bought a new one, screwed off the momo one. And while fitting the new one, a wire touched the boss kit which was linked to negative, and i heard a pfffft noise like the car did something which i believed was the action used to inflat the air bag if i had one. I didn't see any gas though. I now can't start the car, an air bag light keeps flashing, and it's all most like i have no starter motor. I turn the key to start, and even though the dash is on, nothing at all happens. Behind the steering wheel up the middle of the boss kit was wire for the horn, and then 2 wires for the air bag, which the head of was covered with a cap. A little down from the cap the wires were crimed in to a plastic thing. One of the wires slipped out of this crimp when i didn't realise, and then touched the boss kit. The worst thing i could have of done is have the key turned to on. I had it on on, cause i wanted to test the horn part way. So my question is what should I do? Any hints on how to fix it, what has actually happened, do you think i've blown fuse's. The passenger seat has an air bag, nothing happened with it. I've read the manuel it just says take it to Nissan. PS. I live in Brisbane, so if i need to take it some where does any one know some good places. Thanks in advance
  8. Hi everyone, I've just bought an R34 GTt. And I went to get a safety certificate in QLD so i could get it registered. And I was told my steering wheel is too small. - I have a Momo steering wheel - I was told how big my new steering wheel would need to be but unfortuntly I have forgotten. Does any one know what the requirement is and also is there anywhere i could find a list of the requirements for cars in terms of satey certificate. I've searched all over QLD Transports web side and the best i can find is a small list that says the brakes and lights and a sepenstion and a few other things must be right... but they really don't say much. Also what do you guy think about the requirement for the Pod filter having to be incased in a box. - It makes no sence to me -
  9. Hey guys, i've just bought an R34 GTt, 98 model. And am not sure what types of brakes the car has. I beleive there not ABS, but i'm not sure. The brake system is standard. I think there not ABS, from the little driving i've done so far (a couple of hours) but i'm not sure. What is the standard for this model? Also is there any sites out there that have a detailed list of standard features. Thanks
