  1. what Mathew said!

whatever happened to doing something different?

bloody hell, there's a dude building a torana hatchback on here with full r32 gtr running gear...

Let's see something original, some innovation and some skilled fabrication!

geez if he has the time and budget to do it i say go for it, i can't wait to follow the build and see the results.

or let's just be like a whole bunch of other modified skylines on here and not have anything unique...

  2. Someones done it with s15, clearance issues with the bonnet though. ( custom bonnet)

Your main problem is clearance between struts.

The vr is a very wide engine.

vq conversions might help a little

I can't see how VQ conversions would help, they're a very compact engine, the vq30det is quite small

  4. do you know if that upgrade would use the same bits on a series 1?

i'm planning on buying an r34 gt-t brake setup so i'm hoping the lines mentioned above would work on mine too.

  5. really nice gu you picked up there mate, please get a tranny cooler put in too, auto's in forby's get hot with lots of beach work and towing etc and with you chucking a turbo on it as well it's going to be working hard!

the motors are also designed with low down torque in mind, they might not go so hard 'for 4.5' litres on road, but when your climbing a hill with the revs at 1100rpm and it keeps on pulling you realise how they work.

also you might want to look at a set of stronger rods, the tb45 ones aren't known to last long with boost in them, tb42 rods are a fair bit stronger and cheap too

plenty of info on outer limits forums if your interested

  6. the vq25det is also not the only turbo vq series engine

the vq30det came out in y32 cima's and other luxury nissans and is a pretty good motor, dude here been making nearly 500rwhp on standard one for quite a while now, they'll also do 300rwhp on a stock turbo (with a manual)

however the stock turbo is like other nissan turbo's, doesn't like more than 1 bar or it shits out a ceramic wheel

    awesome car dude

  7. FJ20 Turbo 5 speed gbox- $750ono

dr30 complete rear cradle - $750ono (will find out today if it's lsd, pretty sure it is)

    fj20 turbo tailshaft -$200

fj20 wiring loom and ecu $200

the Passage is complete minus rear cradle and front struts hubs etc

has damage to drivers side strut tower and right rear quarter

rest is in pretty good condition apart from some minor pin dents etc

has original redtop eccs rb20det in good condition and 5 speed manual

have front fenders in good condition in original colour as well as a new bonnet

these aren't perfect but are straight

pm me anything you need from the Passage and i'll get back to you with a price

will also take offers on the entire car and all the parts i have for it

pm me on here if your interested in anything

  8. lol well done Ghostrider

MrMayhem would have forgotten more about nissans than you'll ever know, the fact that he's owned and modified more than i care to remember means i listen very carefully when he offers his advice

personally i went the hr31 rear end because as mentioned before, i already have a brand new mechanical lsd to suit the hr31 rear end, as well as the 5 stud conversion and brakes

why the f**k would i go to all the trouble of getting the same done to a dr30 rear end when i can just unbolt the 31 stuff and bolt it into the dr30?

  9. figured i'd bump up this thread as my question is related

my project has been a hr31 passage gt which for various reasons can't be completed

i've bought a new mechanical centre, done five stud conversion and upgraded the brakes

i've been offered a dr30 sedan and while i know the entire rear cradle can be dropped in allowing me to use my 5 stud rear end with the upgraded brakes etc

i'm wondering if the hr31 struts will fit as well?

if not i'll need to get the 5 stud done on the front which means more money

any help would be much appreciated
