  2. This topic can also be found at http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=236183 just thought i'd put it up here so i'd reach more people! Hey guys, decided to sell my pride and joy its a 1990 Sil80, Ca18det, Auto, with 120,000 clicks on the clock, with the following modifcations, 3" cat back exhaust, HKS genuine pod filter, HKS genuine Blow off Valve, Front and rear strut braces, 5 x 7" kicker coaxel speakers up the front(makes the car have a great sound), clarion headunit, genuine BN sports kit, rolling on 17" osaka racing rims with 225 wide rubber, also has boost guage, momo competition steering wheel, and aftermarket drivers seat, digital climate control, sunroof, stiffened suspension, alarm, remote central locking, 2 way immobilizer and 3 year warranty on the car transferred onto new buyer(ask me more via pm!), also comes with rego till feburary This car is alot of fun to drive, and handles like its on rails due to its light weight, it would be perfect for someones first car or a project car. At the moment the car is more of a cruiser and a dialy driver but for a mere $1500 the car can be turned into a manual, and for under 4k can be made into a manual sr20det and made into quite a quick car indeed. This car is perfect for a p plater as it is the only turbo vehicle produced by nissan still eligible to be driven with the power to weight law's, however only just! also the car is good on petrol, costing me only $50 a week on fuel. pictures are as follows http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/6127/rimg0058rb9.jpg http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/6136/rimg0060sf8.jpg http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/1259/rimg0061yn3.jpg If i get an interested potential buyer i will take photo's of interior/any other desired area Price: 10k Negotiable with RWC, cheaper without!, so chuck me an offer and we'll work it out from there! Definately interested in swaps of all kinds, with cash coming my way, or cash going yours! Cheers, guys, please pm for more details etc Dave Edit: Forgot to mention am located in Victoria, but am willing to make the hike to NSW/SA if necessary!
  3. now i know this may be really hard to explain as none of you are actually here, but i was just wondering about a couple of noises my car has developed(1990 Sil80 CA18DET)(i have had the car two days, so it may be that i'm just being more aware of the noises), anyway the first noise when i am coming on boost at around the 50km mark, and it gears up (i drive an auto) it lets out a small sound as it gears up, it sounds sort of like a small amount of boost is being let out, was just wondering if that was normal/not problematic (I have an aftermarket BOV, think it might be boost leak? the second noise when the car gets turned on, i noticed a strange almost electric sound, like a fan (no it's not the pod filter or anything), and it gets faster the more i put my foot on the accelerator, however it seems that it only develops after the car gets warm, when i drive it cold it's not there...the noise isnt a belt clipping anything either i don't think as i revved it while a friend looked under the bonnet and nothing, seems to be coming from under the wheel arches?) the final noise when idleing there is a sort of ticking noise, that almost sounds as though something on the car is being tapped in with a hammer, at times it gets fastish, then slows down again Also the center console and footwells seem to get very very hot, i don't know if it's just engine heat or what? anyone got any ideas? the final two noises i was thinking maybe its a low speed fan or something? i'm not really too sure? just wondering if anyone has had similar noises/ if they are normal or troublesome, or something i should get checked out? i've driven the car all day today, and none of the noises seem to be affecting how the car runs, or anything like that, so i am thinking maybe i'm just being paranoid.. Thanks heaps for your help and i hope it is just me being paranoid:)
  4. hey guys, i am curious, if a stock standard car produces 147kw at 7 psi, if the boost was increased to 10psi, what kind of kW output would i be acheiving?
  5. awesome, thanks for clarifying that again mate Cheers, Dave
  6. Hey guys, i am currently on my P's and live in victoria, and i know it's illegal to drive a turbo'd 33, is it however illegal to drive a turbo'd 33 on an adelaide or ACT or tasmanian, or NSW licence? if so, is it possible to go to one of these places, and transfer the licence into one of theres? or is there re-testing required, bla bla bla Thanks for your help. Dave
  7. thanks heaps for your goldmine of information mate:D much appreciated, but let me just get a few things straight, firstly, i can have a seat installed and harnesses fitted so long as they don't interfere with the normal set of belts, so i have both sets installed and able to be used at once, i just select which i use? and the seat must either fit the standard factory ones, or i can run other rails so long as they are engineer certified? and when using the harnesses, remove the back seat and put carpet over the top, and if i am queried explain whats gone on and it's sweet? or can the back seat remain there at all times, even when using the harness's? Cheers again mate, Dave
  8. with the recaro seats + harnesses in it, are the back seats useable?
  9. not sure if this is the correct section for this but i couldnt find a more appropriate one.. what is the issues involved with installing a bucket seat and a harness (3/4/5/6) point for street driving, do the back seats need to come out or is it as simple as just screwing one in and that being the end of that. any other issues/bla bla bla Cheers, Dave
  10. also there is the issue of not being able to have a valid insurance, sure you can get it, but they don't have to pay, and thats not a gauntlet i'm prepared to run, i also don't think its fair if i hit someone else/elses car...
  11. yer i was considering them, but then petrol prices...just figured a 4 cylinder, even being a turbo would be a better option than a big v8... i'd say the workshop, but it could be considered slander to the business which i don't want to do, and i think is against SAU's policy... =/ i think i've found away around the issue which is to get a harness and racing seat put in, which even though it being an auto i would like to do some track work in the future...
  12. yer it's without turning this thread into another high powered vehicle thread the r33 is over the power to weight ratio unfortunately, your mate may have just been lucky etc..otherwise that was my first choice without a doubt...
  13. i would have loved a s2 turbo skyline, but in Victoria they are illegal to drive on p plates, 180's are just under the power bracket, and with the new laws coming in i don't want to risk being carless and licenceless
