  1. thanks a lot for your help, ill get onto it today.

Sorry mate; that one is actually the SR20 fan clutch.

Below is a link for the R33 RB25det fan clutch.

I would advise so you are 100% sure, that you go into the listings and confirm it for yourself.

This is the page I got to the fan price from; you can clearly see the make/model of the car, but check for yourself.

  2. I guess you have a point there.
so the link you posted to before was the correct part number?

I have found that is the "worst case scenario" on delivery time; they generally arrive quite quickly.
When you email for a price including shipping; they will also revise the lead time.

Give them a go; if all you are worried about is the noise (rather than imminent engine damage through overheating); why not wait & save a couple of hundred?

  3. im from SA, I had part numbers which I found on the forums
went to my local Nissan dealership (lakeside Nissan) paid a deposit, they ordered the parts in. from melb I reckon
had them in a few days

reckon I paid about $150 odd for both hoses. bit pricey for hoses

Well I gave them a call and they said they dont have those parts......anywhoo what i did do is a total flush and cleaned the hose thorough and put it back in.

After testing for leaks there wasn't any so ill leave it sitting for a bit and see what happens - could be that the previous owner didnt put the clamp on properly.

Either way ill report once its back in.

Out of curiosity which NIssan place did you call?

  4. the one for $201 is from the UAE, 20-30 days delivery

from japan $435 with 10 day wait.

I should've just got the standard one from Nissan at the start I guess.

ill give Nissan a ring and see how much they are. I will pay the money to get rid of that shocking noise.

the davies craig clutch is louder than my other 1.

    cheers for your input guys!

Try Amayama; they are much more reasonably priced, if you can wait a week or so.

$201 is a much better price; add $30ish for delivery.

  5. look at these odds :P fairly generous!

    Hawthorn

    $2.25

    v

    St Kilda

    $1.60

    My tips this week,

    Geelong over Carlton @ MCG

Bulldogs over West Coast @ Docklands

St Kilda over Hawthorn @ Aurora

    Brisbane over Essendon @ MCG

    Adelaide over Collingwood at AAMI

Nth Melb over Melb @ Docklands

    Richmond over Sydney @ MCG

    Port over Fremantle @ Subi

that last tip might change, dunno just yet.

those odds are now reversed :D

  6. WEll I put a hi-flo cat back in mine and the boost problem is still there so Im tipping that its the front pipe . I think I will bite the bullet and buy a bell mouth one instead of the split pipe. It started happening after I installed the split dump...

    rob

yep i had a split dump/ front and changed back to bell mouth and it solved my problem ;)

  7. Smoke, could be burning oil from spillages while doing the job, if it goes away your all good but if it persists it could be the oil lines leaking, they carry a fair bit of pressure while running.

thanks for the reply buddy but it has died down now. so must have just been the gasket/oil burning. i knew that would happen after i made a new thread. oh well thanks for the reply. :P

  8. hey guys. ive just had my turbo off to fix a snapped dump pipe bolt. i have everything back on now. my problem is that theres a fair bit of smoke coming from around the turbo. i know its normal to have a bit from the gaskets. i dont think it could be a leak. everything is done up tight. unless maybe the turbo to manifold gasket has to go on a certain way?

  9. that captain thread guy is a wizard ive used him b4 i spent hrs trying to get a broken stud out and i gave called him 15 mins he had it out and the thread cleaned up . he is a broken bolt geek lol

i gave him a call today and hes coming out tuesday morning and he said it wouldnt be a problem :(

  10. Never, ever, ever use Ezy Outs!

Always drill studs & bolts out, you can't drill Ezy Outs unfortunately.

Now you'll have to try using a pin punch (and be very patient) if you can't grip it.

We used to get this situation almost daily at Adelaide Engine.....bit of heat may also help if pin punch doesn't.

so its impossible to drill them out?
