Basically it seems like the HSK's might be a bit over the top right? Do you think the difference in the HSK's running off this amp will be worth the extra $200 when compared to the jaycars running off this amp? I mean the jaycars are more than half the price so you'd hope the difference in sound was huge...

I have decided to purchase a set of Hertz HSK165's but before I do I just want to check that my Kicker IX404 will have enough power to drive them properly. I am pretty sure it will but just want to double check. I already have the amp and am 100% keen for the HSK's so let me know your technical opinion. OK i have narrowed it down. I am after a set of splits that will match the Kicker IX404. I am considering SoundStream XSC.6 6.5" and want to know if you guys think it is worth spending a bit extra and getting the Tarantula TRC.6N 6.5"? Will there be a noticeable difference in the two? Also, what would you guys recommend... the SoundStreams or a set of Kicker K6.2 splits?

Have decided to amp the front/rears... considering a Kicker IX404 4 CH ... Will get the amp first then find the speakers to match... Anyone had any experience with these before? How do they go?

I don't think they come with one man... just got the last one in the chatswood jb and it didn't come with one either... so either they don't come with one or jb has f*%d us both over... I should get you to come do my bargaining for me next time... i only managed to get them down to $845... you've done extrememly well... Let me know what your running off it and how it performs... need some decent advice on speakers and amp...

I am keen for some decent advice on the speakers. I have all of the other components for the system and now I need to match some decent speakers so I can get it all installed in one go. Here is what I have so far: - Kicker KX200.2 Amp (for the sub) - Kenwood 200W RMS 12" sub - JVC KW-AVX700 head unit (http://www.jvc-australia.com/JVC/client/c_...&prodID=173) As far as speakers go the guys on the forum have convinced me to go with 6.5" for the front and back. I don't really want to spend more than $200 on a set of front splits and the backs don't need to be anything too flash right? The speakers will be running off the head unit so I need to find speakers that are going to match the HU right? My original plan was to go with a set of Alpine SPE-17CS ($138) 35W RMS splits for the front and a cheaper set of Alpines for the back. I am not too sure of the output quality of the HU (20W RMS?? is what I was told) and have been told that the above Alpines will certainly match it well. This is my main concern as I don't want to waste money on better speakers unless the HU is gunna have the power to drive them. Anyway guys, give me your advice on the above. Would you go with the Alpines? What others would you suggest? Don't want to spend more than $300 all up for front and backs. Brands and model numbers would also be a big help as there are so many different types out there. Thanks guys...

OK guys. Going to get new speakers today for my r32. Question is should I get splits 6's for the front or just go with some 2 way coax? Is the sound quality heaps better with the splits or not?

I have just found out about sound deadening.... How important is it to sound deaden the front doors...? will it make a huge difference or not?

how do you sound deaden the doors...? ok... i understand the difference between split speakers and normal 2 ways now.... so does everyone agree to go splits in the front...??? do they perform a hell of a lot better...??

Thanks man... I am a definate newbie to this.... what is the difference between a standard set of speakers and the ones with the splits... the dude at JB HIFI said that they were made for running straight off the head unit... So should i get the splits for my front speakers and not the back... or back and not front.... or both...??? Going to buy my speakers tomorrow so am keen to get some understanding before getting the sales pitch runaround...

OK thanks man. So if I follow predators schematic and fit a set of 6.5's will the door skin fit back over without much hassle? That's my main concern. Want the krankin stereo without too much hassle. Would any of you guys suggest just getting the 4x6's for the front or should I look at the 6.5 splits?? I am after a pretty decent sound without having to amp the speakers. I have a 4x50W head unit with 200W Kicker amp driving a sub. Any suggetions?

I am upgrading the stereo in my R32 and want to know what size speakers I need for both front and rear. Thing is I want to use the same original holes so what size do I need?
