  1. Hi got mine out of rb25det, they are supposed to be the same as the sr20 and rb20, so they should be available form Auto wreckers etc. Nissan NZ dont list them as a part (bizar) cheers
  2. thanks guys does anyone want some r33gtr shocks then???
  3. can someone tell me if the r33GTR shocks will fit a r33 4door 25t??? did a search but got conflicting answers. cheers
  4. HI all Joel WROTE There is an issue.. Apparently the RB oil pumps have a different size gear i.e NA and ET pumps have a different size gear how is the over come? looking at the oil pumps the diffrence is in the width of the gear ,I will use the oil pump from my 25t as the gear is considerably wider and as such will pump more oil / flow. have got oil squirters installed ,what a mission!!!, the Rb30 block has only 3-4mm metal in the casting before you enter the oil gallery (the 25t block has over 10mm).Ended up having to tap out to 3/8 bspt thread and installed the squirters into brass plugs, height of sqirters is a real issue as the crank has minimal clearance to the block, alot of mucking around I hope it is worth it. Mayby someone can shed some light on the effectivness of the oil squirter install,I suspect that unless its a high boost+high rev drag motor the oil squirters are not really necessary (they are painfull to install). Motor is about 1/3 reasembled ,im off to carry on. cheers
  5. To solve the VCT oil feed problem I removed the Vct solinoid and drilled straight down the vvt oil feed galery through a brass plug and into the cavity which houses the VCT solinoid. Ill let you know if it works
  6. Hey Joel, Have a Exact CAD drawing with mounting details of the oil squirter hole centres etc which Ill post from work tomorrow, the block is at the machine shop a present some picks will follow its return, To solve the VCT oil feed problem I removed the Vct solinoid and drilled straight down the vvt oil feed galery through a brass plug and into the cavity which houses the VCT solinoid, the oil gallery on the block side of the head has been plugged with alloy expoxy putty ,when heated it expands and contracts at the same rate as alluminum, very important!! the rb30 block water gallery has also had the plastic metal treatment (cast iron stuff) the area which i have filled is directly opisite the area you have circled ,this was done to create a sandwich area for the head gasket my latest eye opener was to find the block is minus a water feed port which i need to for the turbo return water cooling line cheers
  7. Hi whatsisname AHH how does it work?, what is its function? I hope it switches off oil pressure? the reason i ask is that i want to feed the vvt oil to the cam from the chamber which the solenoid screws into . Im doing a RB30det and have had to plug the oil gallery in the base of the head as the rb30 block has a water gallery where the oil feed in is the head,i need to feed the vvt and this point would the most logical feed source. cheers
  8. hi mounted at front of the intake side of the 25t head is a long hexagonal switch which screws into a oil gallery.can anyone tell me what its for, looks like a pressure switch?? thanks
  9. Hi Joel no ill install the oil pump and squirters of the 25t block, get the crank balanced, looking at the stroke and pistons the comp ration will be higher because of the storke?,ill have to look into this a bit deeper Steve, no dramas man ,your info is still very usefull nothing is ever as simple as it COULD be.Ill post some Pics later today. I really want to retain the vvt. thanks Guys
  10. Hi Joel yeah ,looks like ill be pluging the oil feed hole ,I wonder if it will affect the performance much? cheers
  11. Hi Guys just went to bolt up my 25t head and what happens? the VVt oil feed hole in the head, lines up with the water Jacket in the block. Steve said From my previous investigation, the VVT is driven by oil. If you want to retain the VVT, you will have to drill the BR30 block where the oil gallery for the VVT is and presto - VVT RB30 is there another point to feed the VVT from??? thanks
  12. Thanks Joel I did a search but didnt find that post ,thanks man out of interest i pulled my 25t dowm today and found no1,4,6 pistons had broken ring lands and on the r/hand(east?) side if the piston ,no bore damge at all. is this the result of to much boost? thanks
  13. oops thanks for you replys Steve much appreciated
  14. hi steve well ,when i say too much boost ,bleed valve = detonation other mods are full 4inch exhaust from dump pipe with rear muffler only k&n pod and above mentioned bleed valve what im after is a strong reliable road motor that is capable of running 14psi boost
  15. hi Steve I have a sick 25t ,broken rings,to much boost ,194000ks,bore still has hone marks i have a rb30 block with low kays im trying to work out weather i should put rings, bearings into the 25t block or bolt up the rb30 block. the 25t motor/turbo are standard thanks
  16. thanks Steve ,excellent exactly what i needed to know thanks above mentions that it is as simple as bolting the 25t head onto the rb30 bottom ,no piston/rod change required? will the factory 25t turbo supply enough flow to the engine ,will the 370cc injectors be ok? i know lots of questions for a newbie thanks again
  17. Ok i did a search and got some more great info, can anyone turn the light on the variable INLET cam (94 R33) OIL THING?? THANKS AGAIN
  18. thanks, meg but i need more specific info, regarding pistons and rods ,comp ratio etc thanks
  19. Hi ,can you guys help me out ,PLEASE I want to put the head off my 25t on a N/A RB30 block ,can anyone tell me the correct combo for rods, pistons etc this isnt a race motor but rather a good solid road motor . SYDNEYKID ,I reckon you can answer this GRATITUDE in advance
