Serviceability Of The V36 370 Skyline
foibles replied to foibles's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey guys - thanks for feedback, this is insightful and appreciated. I just had a look at the service manual....and would have to agree, servicing does not appear to be an onerous requirement.... -
Hi guys, I've looked at existing threads on servicing the V's...but my query relates specifically to the V36 370 - hence why I am starting a new thread. A friend of mine wants to buy a V36 370 S model (coupe, auto, 2007/8). He is concerned about servicing costs and practicality. Please note - he has no mechanical aptitude, does not want to be self-servicing, or even having to source parts. He'd like to think that he can rock up to Nissan dealership or Ultratune (or similar) and get the car serviced. Given the stipulations of the V36 370 service schedule - is this a realistic expectation? can any members who do or have owned the V36 370 coupe speak directly with regards to their personal experiences? What I would like to know is; 1. Is servicing the Skyline essentially the same as the 370Z – in terms of who can do it, what it costs, parts required etc 2. Is the ECU the same (by and large) as what is in the 370Z – such that a ‘normal garage’ could tune it? 3. Could servicing be done by (say) Nissan, or Ultratune, or an average mechanic For reference, my friend lives in Traralgon – so a big country town, with Nissan dealership and Ultratune, but no performance workshops nearby. Any assistance would be appreciated. Cheers, Foibles

For sale is my Navara - 2007/8 model with the 2.5TD, and auto trans. Just had new brakes and tow bar. Many extras fitted - sports bars, ladder racks, nudge bar, side steps, wind splitters, window tints, leather interior, etc 116K klms. Extremely clean throughout - never off road. May consider part trades up to $6-7K. Please PM if interested. Location = Shepparton, but often take this to Melbourne if that is easier.

just checked carsales....entered 1. Nissan Skyline 2. V35 350GT 3. Coupe 4. Manual 5. Sunroof that's not exactly 'a big wishlist' - but still only found 3 in Oz. And OP's car is the cheapest of the lot. And it is the anniversary (nicer interior, etc) .....so really does not seem too much out of kilter with the market. Again.....good luck with the sale

Yes....to quote.....I guess it comes down to who is negotiating..

Have checked FAQ and used search but so far found nothing.... I have a v36...which has the intelligent key....but it also happens I have a dead battery. when using the remote...i.e the intelligent key. ....so that I can open the bonnet and replace the battery....the key hardly registers...signal is too weak....meaning that the alarm goes off but I'm still stuck out of the car. any idea as to how to address this?

19" Tyres Or 20" Tyres And Wheels Wanted For V36
foibles replied to foibles's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
yeah thanks - and I have been told that spacers are not RWC, so this won't help. As it is, I am sorted from this morning - got a set of 235 and 245's. cheers, -
I need a set of 4 tyres to fit standard 370GT SP 19" wheels - they're 225/45 and 245/40. Hoping to get something used, but with plenty of meat left, no sh*tter brands please, but no need to be Nittos either. Also happy to consider a full set of 20" wheels and tyres - must fit 370SP (akebono brakes) Am located in SHepparton, but can come and check out stuff in metro melbourne.

just went and checked my garage....I definitely do not have a 2004 70th anniversary black V35 coupe......apparently unlike the majority....lol (although I did have one, 115K klms, factory wheels, no bodykit, which I sold for $19500 no rego but RWC about 4 months back - so this does seem like a good price to me)

V36 370Gt Sp Model - $29900
foibles replied to foibles's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
bump - presume there are very few buyers in the auto 370GT or 370Z space at the moment, at least in Vic......unless everyone now hates black. car now has RWC, and will be getting registered next week. price will go up to reflect this cost once it occurs. -
Hi there, I bought my V36 370GT SP model a couple of months back, when I was still living in Melbourne. As a result of job transfer, I have now been moved to Shepparton, and so this vehicle is not as practical as the 4WD I am importing instead. So sadly she is on the market already. This is the top of the line SP model - all the fun (and vital) S model stuff - big brakes, big wheels, etc etc - if you're interested you'll know your stuff already. Also all the P model refinements - some of the in-cabin stuff is pretty fancy compared to the JZA80 and R32/33/34 I have been used to. It looks awesome up close - a real head turner. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE RAYS WHEELS AND TYRES, AND THE AFTERMARKET SUSPENSION WILL NOT BE INCLUDED AT THIS PRICE. I ALREADY HAVE A CONFIRMED OFFER ON THESE. So car will be sold stock as a rock. (unless you want to pay me more than $2750 for this stuff). Had RWC inspection already - just failed two items - spacers for wheels and the car sits too low. That's all. And as I will return to stock, it will be completely RWC by this time. It is the black with black leather interior - cannot tell if the rear glass is tinted or not? She has 55xxx klms on the clock. This is a Grade 4.5 - will show both auction papers and de-reg papers to interested parties who turn up in person. No, I wont post them up on the net for all and sundry, just interested parties. So if you are interstate, I'll send to you once you've shown you're serious - such as paying for a vehicle inspection. Inspections more than welcome. Thanks for offering (in advance, lol) but I don't need or want a trade. Like I said, I have a Navara on the water at the moment, and my missus has a BMW, so we have no spare garage space. I won't be negotiating on price (not yet anyway) - because; * well - if you cant find a better and cheaper one - but that one! * as the yen is now 88.xx (and still heading south), meaning you'll get 87 yen for the dollar at best, plus fees, by my calculations it would cost every bit of my asking price to import one from Japan. So anyone who hasn't bought one from Japan already, may not really be too interested in doing so in the near future,. because the local ones should be cheaper. Please PM any questions, unless they are of relevance or importance to anyone else. Cheers, Foibles PS - car can be shown up in SHepp, or in Melb CBD, or in Ringwood (East suburbs) at various times.

Wanted - V35 350Gt Dash Cluster - 6Spd
foibles posted a topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I have just bought a v35 350 gt which currently measures speed in mph, not kmh. Am looking into getting a re-program to convert to kmh...but another option is to simply buy a replacement cluster. Anyone know of one floating around? Prefer vic, but can't be too fussy. -
May I request a V37 section...in eager anticipation? No? Am I being too precious? Who would like to buy my r38gtr plates., lol.....I'll get back to drinking and watching the race....

Compliance "plate" Backlog?
foibles replied to mini2's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Carisma just completed work for a friend of mine in no more than 3 weeks including plate.....so I don't think plate production from niddrie, or approval from dotars, is a problem at the moment. -
350Gt Disc Rotors...best Place To Buy?
foibles replied to foibles's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hi guys...thanx for the feedback. Ended up going with ebay seller performancepartsonline from Roxburgh park. 117 per pair...very reasonable for brembo discs from what I've found. Thanks all. -
It's been a long time since I had a car brought from Japan to Australia. Looking at bringing one over now. "back in my day" the main carrier were Kiwi Car Carriers - who later became Seaway - who if the information given to me is correct, are now merely a freight agent who have an allegiance with Heogh Shipping Lines. Hoegh however do not service the Australian market. So - for those who either bring cars to Australia - or those who have had them brought over by someone else......which shipping company did you use? Was it merely a random decision based on which vessel was next in port to service the Australian market - so could have been Mitsui OSK, NYK, Maersk, etc etc?

350Gt Disc Rotors...best Place To Buy?
foibles posted a topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
I'm selling my v35 and need to fit new disc rotors all round. Mine is a 2004 manual coupe, hence has the brembos, and with stock 18" rims. Located in melbourne cbd....can anyone recommend a good local seller please? -
Well, Iamhe77 is right (thanks mate) - National just quoted me $295 for replacement windscreen. That is, supplied and fitted for a 2004 V35 coupe. Quite surprised really. Pleasantly. Well under Instant at $390 and O'Brien at ...... wait for it ....$1100. O'Brien then asked me to stay on the phone whilst the girl checked with her manager to verify why the difference (I did not ask her to do this) - after 5 minutes of hold music it seemed I was being stooged, so I just hung up. Summary - national seem great, instant were fine too - keep well away from OBrien. However, given what I have read above, I will ensure that (and I'll make sure I have witnesses) if they supply the wrong screen (but I asked for confirmation on spec several times) that money is immediately refunded, in which case I go next cab off the rank (which would be instant). If that fails, I'll drive through rain with no screen at all before I give O Brien my money.....

for sale is my 2004 skyline V35 coupe. It's got a lot of features in the spec which make it an extremely rare find, and (at least to my way of thinking), a fully loaded V which is a great base if you want to dress one up. has; * 6spd manual * sunroof * brembos * full leather (not the half leather half whatever in the premium model) from what I can see, it's the only Skyline of any model in the country - currently for sale - which has all of this. add in the fact that it's black, and there is a reason I am asking more than my neighbour with the 2001 250GT sedan with auto and silver paint! I am open to swaps, simply because I now have another car, and my missus only drives autos. I'd never want an R31/32/33/34 in auto, so the only swap I'd take is a V35 350GT - has to be coupe, has to be auto and has to have at least the 'premium leather' interior - and I can do cash up or down either way, depending upon what you have. Would also consider V36. If it is stock and silver, I'll need several thousand my way, if it is a better color (black, blue, red), sunroof, 20's, kit etc then I'm clearly willing to take less, or even a straight swap. Am located in Southbank for those who may wish to view the car. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/414065-v35-350gt-coupe-sunroof-brembos-manual-full-leather-rare-in-black/

Well, for the time being, that's speculation from my perspective. As they offer an email address but choose not to reply, I can only guess what products they offer, and at what price. the search continues...but yes, am happy with the $390 from instant
-
tried 3 mobs - obriens, national windscreens, and instant windscreens. all 3 have email contact facilities, and offer email responses. only one has been bothered (yes, customer service matters to me). price from instant windscreens is $390 inc supply and fit at my premises. silence from obriens (who initially asked for VIN, then no reply) and from national (nothing at all) given they've been good enough to respond promptly - a good deed in return....anyone wanting their details..... 1300 136 303 (24/7)
-
thanks to everyone for their valued feedback so far - anyone with tips on cheap windscreens would be much appreciated - maybe by others as much as myself (I will do some groundwork in the next 2-3 days and keep you all posted).
