  3. I have a r31 coupe with a rb20det red top. My air conditioner compressor is shot and is pissing out oil everywhere. I assume the r32 rb20det compressor will be a straight bolt on and I can still use my original lines. Can someone confirm this and does anyone in the South east melbourne area have a good working unit that does not leak oil and works fine. My markings on the compressor are as follows. DEISEL KIKI DKV-14C 5086308984 tHANKS
  4. thanks 46n2 I will sus it out when pics are up.
  5. I am after the original elbow peice that comes off the compressor side on a original r32 rb20det turbo. Also if someone also has the original oil and water banjo bolts from the same turbo it would be great. Even be intersted in the oil and water lines. Any help appreciated.
  6. Ok I know this question may have been asked before but I need to confirm a few things. Can I change my r31 rb20det red top coil packs with r32 or r33 items. Is it just a matter of changing the loom with the coil packs or will I have igniter problems. Is it easier to go from r31 into r32 set up.(coils plus loom plus igniter) or will I then have ecu wiring problems. I am after plug and play if possible rather than re-wiring a heap of crap. I beleive even if I go to splifire I will have to change the loom anyway which I think comes in the kit. Its no use chasing down second hand red top coil packs as all are over 20 years old and unreliable. If I can change the set up to r32 or r33 items at least i can find some half that age and maybe more reliable.
  7. o.k Can I just confirm one thing. A r32 silvertop rb20det stock turbo will fit on my r31 red top rb20det. No mods required. actuator, banjo bolts , water and oil lines all match up. no tune required dump pipe same, elbow same etc Remember i am not after performance gains here. Car is to remain stock. After all any turbo would perform better than the stock red top unit.
  8. just wondering if I can keep my existing actuator from my red top rb20det if I upgrade to a r32 or r33 stock turbo or best to replace with new actuator and dump pipe. I am in S/E suburbs so would consider what has been offered so far. Bluebird
  9. Hi There, I am after a genuine stock turbo from a r32 or r33 to fit in my hr31 coupe red top rb20det. I am keeping the complete stock look so I need a original nissan unit. Any turbo from a r32 or r33 would be a big improvement on the pissy red top version. First choice r32 so I can bolt on with no mods at all however would consider r33 which also fits with a few minor mods. Low km,s in great condition would be nice with no oil leaks like my current unit even though it has only done 80,000km. Thanks
  10. Does anyone know of some one who has changed their windscreen on a hr31 2 door coupe. I am having trouble finding the correct one. As I am with shannons they have sent out O'BRIENS to replace my screen at no charge. So far they have been out twice and both times with the incorrect screen. If some has had experience with this I would appreciate which company they used and maybe even the part number as an aftermarket screen usually has the part number or type stamped on it. Also did they have to order the original nissan moulds and retainers or did they use an aftermarket rubber stripping. Thanks
  11. update: Now that the car has arrived at home I am still not 100% sure if I will keep it. Although it is in complete original condition it still needs some work to get to my standard. As time goes by my son and I are enjoying working on the car together even though he is only 10. The actual value does not phase me any more as I am starting to enjoy the looks of it sitting in my garage. It reminds me of Mark Skaife every time I look at it and the good old days at Sandown when you enjoyed watching touring cars at its best. I have a feeling that once I am finished with it we might regret selling it. Its great to work on a car and ejoy the finished product. I am just not sure about those factory white rims. Some like it some dont. I may have to look into that. As for parts on these imports where have you guys found the best place to go for interior bits and peices. I have checked out the yahoo auctions but is their anything easier.
  12. I will keep you posted if I sell. I am picking up this weekend. It is a dead stock MANUAL WHITE GTS-X with 80,000km and genuine 1 owner which has been verified. Has a niccs motor which is not ideal but a genuine grade 4 car and unmolested which is rare. Interior and exterior reported as excellent with no signs of rust anywhere. I will provide full compliance and engineers certificate. All that will be required is to register. If I sell I will provide some photos.
  13. Hi There, Just wondering if someone knows what was the largest size factory rim that nissan produced in 4 stud format. I want to upgrade the rims on my r31 gts-x but would like to keep it in the nissan family without changing to 5 stud. I saw some cool wheels on the nissan dr30 and r31 touring cars a while back and thought maybe something similar exists to replicate them. Thanks
  14. Well Hello Cazz, If I new you were going to answer my thread I would have added a heap more. Anyway I was really looking for 1984 rsx turbo c when this Clean gts-x came up. The guy in Japan who inspected it for me said the only fault he could pick up was a slight tear in the gear stick cover. Everything else was faultless. He even said to me that you wont find many r31's in this condition so I did what any thoughtless male would do and bought it. I will contact you when it arrives and since you are the r31 queen you can help me with some parts. I think you live nearby to me also so maybe you can sus it out if I decide to keep it. Regards Jean Claude Vann Damme
  15. Hi there, Just would like an opinion from you guys on the r31 gts-x that I purchased a little while ago. Not sure whether to keep it or sell it. What do you think would be a realistic price for it. Its arriving in Australia in around a week or so. Its an absolutley dead stock 1986 hr31 gts-x manual coupe. Its a genuine 1 owner with 80,000km on the clock and has a genuine grade 4 auction rating. I have detailed pictures and it is in mint condition with interior and exterior absolutley immaculate. As I got it cheap I am not sure whether to keep it or sell for a profit and then go hunting for another car. If I keep it, I am leaning towards keeping it dead stock. Not sure if I want to go down the modification path again (eg: Fit a rb25det and 5 stud conversion and so on and so on). Its a dilema but a good dilema. What do you guys think and what price could I expect. I can sell with or without compliance doesnt really bother me. Thanks
  16. I am just about convinced. Unless a nice clean low km example of a hr31 comes along I will be gowing for the dr30 rs-x turbo. They also have more appeal for some reason. Orion's dr30 is a great example also. My first prefernce was a solid colour example but the two tone I have to admit also looks great. I have also seen silver on black and that looks hot also. I know parts will be harder to find but this will not be my every day car so if it has to sit in the garage while I source parts well so be it. Does anyone out there know how many dr30 rs-x turbo's were produced by nissan.
  17. Nice looking dr30 Ravenoak. Have you kept it stock. I agree with you that dr30 skylines have some motorsport kred and may increase in value. Out of interest have you ever had any people in the back seat and if so how did they find it. I have a 6 and 9 year old who go to all the car events with me so when I get a dr30 I would like to take them along with me. Only ever seen 2 up close and never worried about the rear room. Too busy looking at the fj20det. Also do you know exactly what part of 1984 that the rsx turbo came with factory intercooler. I think it was called rsx turbo c. Thanks
  18. Looks like there is a lot of DR30 fans out there. As for ORION, 18k is a great price for a dr30. Then again not sure what exchange rate is. I think aus dollar is very close to NZ. I think in AUS they fetch between 8 to 10 grand. Although there are quite a few r31 coupes in aus ,they are still a rare car and you would not come across one very often. As for dr30 coupes even more rare in aus. I probably only seen a few here in Victoria. As for the u13 bluebird, its a real stealth car and will stay in my family for ever. In mildly modified condition the sr20det really rips and with 4wd grip really pisses off xr6 turbo's. 99% of the people out there have no clue what it is. Even the cops are completely oblivious. Anyway still deciding on dr30 or r31. The one that is in best condition may win out but I really love the look of the dr30 rsx turbo. Every time i see one I think of glen seton. I take on board what some of you guys are saying about ease of parts for r31 compared to dr30. Decisions, decisions!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Just adding to my original post. Do any of you guys have access to the exact number of cars produced by nissan for certain models. eg: DR30 RSX turbo and rsx turbo c how many were produced. and HR31 GTS-X how many were produced. We all know that 800 R31 GTS-R were made but I would like to know how many were made of other models. I would even like to know the exact number of U13 BLUEBIRD 4WD TURBO'S IN MANUAL were made. I have surfed the net but cant find any reliable links. It would just be nice to know which car is more rare and therefore potential resale value. As for my potential purchase DR30 is in front at the moment but would have to be late model and in good condition. Then I have to decide whether to keep it stock or modify. I would suggest a dr30 rsx turbo in original condtion may appreciate in value. What do you guys think.
  20. Hi Guys, First post for me. I am in the process of purchasing an old school skyline to acompany my stealth u13 bluebird attesa. I have a soft spot for dr30 rs-x turbo and hr31 gts-x. Problem is dont know which one to go for. I grew up watching both of these race in touring cars with Glen seton and mark skaife as the drivers. I want a bit of motorsport history in my garage. I am guessing that the dr30 rsx may appreciate more in the future. What do you guys think. Also I would expect the dr30 to be a faster car also. fj20det also has heaps of potential. With the r31 ,the gts-r would be the real deal but as they are big bucks now I thought the r31gts-x would be the next closest thing. Any info appreciated.
