  1. Try reading through this topic. put some effort in it man, it's all on the internet.
  2. thanks for the tips ! But that part about the knock sensors on pwer fc being useless above 240 rwkw ? Why is that ?
  3. Hi guys, I've got an S13 with an RB25 engine in it, and I'm remapping it myself. I've got some mild knocking numbers close to the redline (it's got a power-fc pro, so ignition cut on revlimiter), and I'd like to know if there is any difference between the front and back knock sensor... And for the record, what a/f ratio should I be aiming for at what load level ? William
  4. ok, so the following 2 thingies are faulty : (power mosfet array) > NEC UPA1556 > K547B (power transistor array) > NEC UPA1424 > K316B NOW... Where can i get these ! Tried quite a few online component sellers, and nothing ! Anybody ?
  5. SIP = Single Inline Package, got it
  6. Found out its the transistor array pin connects to. Just have to source a new one, solder it in, and it should work again My fuelpump "on" pin (18 I think) also doesn't work, and this connects to the same type of transistor as pin 16 does, so I'll also change this one, to see if I can get pin 18 to work again piccie : For the guys who don't want to go down the soldering route, but still want their powerfc's to save data, here's a work around : Normally, when pin 45 gets + 12V, pin 16 switches to ground and thus activates the eccs relay. When cutting the power to pin 45 (ignition off), pin 16 keeps the ecu alive for another 2 seconds or so. These 2 seconds is what the powerfc needs to save the data (changes in maps etc). What I discovered, is that loss of power on pin 45 actually triggers the save process! But because pin 16 doesn't work, there's no time for the powerfc to save the data. When you put a switch between pin 16 (still connected to the relay) and earth, this switch will keep the powerfc alive long enough to save the data. So now you turn the ignition off (no power to pin 45), wait 2 seconds, then flip the switch (pin 16 + eccs relay no more ground) and the powerfc saves the data and the engine stops might be a good one to add to the PowerFC Faq ?
  7. Hi guys I redid my entire wiring, and accident switched pin 16 with the switched power pins (49,59,109). So instead of feeding my +12V pins with +12v, I fed pin 16 with +12V. My power fc pro now doesn't turn on because pin 16 doesn't ground anymore. According to BOOSTD I need to repair my SIP chip in the power fc pro ? Which one is that ? When I manually ground pin 16 and with that the eccs relay, the powerfc still works but obviously doesn't save anymore
  8. the man has done alot of work for me, always top notch. Just no experience with RB25DET's. so now we have Boosta and Uras saying 2 very different things Any more opinions ? I'm leaning towards the cp ones, by te way....
  9. breath a little, as in show leak on a leakdown test ? Can get both for the same money, so it seems the cp ones are the best choice ? and R31Nismoid, builder doesn't know which one is better edit : hmmm,mr uras above seems to not like the cp ones ?
  10. I've got an RB25DET series 1, and need new pistons/rings... Which should I go for, cp pistons or wiseco pistons ?
