Na i when i bothered to actually LOOK at the defect notice, it does request a full inspection to be done....
anyone want to buy a lovley white skyline???
ok, i finally got around to taking my car to an authorised inspection station.
The guy informed me that i had to get a full inspection done on the car, and more than likley a engineer's cert. because of the mods on my car (3 inch exhaust, pod filter and bov).
According to him ill probably have to return the car to standard form to keep my registration...
At that is gonna cost a shitload!!!.
I cant handle this shit.... im gonna sell it...
Ok, my cars got the full exhaust, air filter, 12psi boost etc, and this guy keeps kicking my arse at every set of lights (by alot). His car has a full exhaust and thats it...
Should i be able to beat him, is there somthing wrong with my car???
but at the end of the day who REALLY cares about how quick a car is in a straight line down the quater, this should simply be a measurment as to how well the car performs on the backstreets and out on open roads and that sort of thing
From what ive read on these forums, people talk about how they have such and such a power rating on the dyno, but then on the track, run slower times that the guy next to them with the same mods (or less).
Should a cars performance be rated by how much power it produces on a dyno, how it peforms down the 1/4... or what makes more sence the g-forces of the car accelerating through a particular gear???
My turbo was making a simmillar noise to that. You could hear it inside the cabing, but over 3 grand you couldnt hear it inside cause of the pod, but you could definatly hear it outside.
Turns out it was a turbo gasket that had blown, check that out.
does it depend on what filter you have?
ive got a k&n filter and it dosn't make that noise...
someone told me that noise is the turbo spinning backwards... is that correct?
the other thing to bear in mind is that the manufactures quote certain power figures for marketing and legal reasons (especially in the case of the RB26). Those figures may not be all that accurate.
a dude i know has an rb20, with full 3 inch exhaust, big front mount and achieved a best of 221.4 rwhp running 16psi (yes 16) through his stock turbo. My rb25 makes 221.1 rwhp with just an exhaust, running at 13psi.
