  1. It's not just the turbo kit. I've done about 4 or 5 of the VQ35DE turbo conversions ranging from 240AWKW to 660RWKW. Your supporting mods will be just as expensive as a HKS turbo kit to do it properly. If you do it yourself you will save big $$$.

     

    IMO the best bag for buck on the street if you want approx 200RWK on a VQ35DE is a firstly a very well sorted and flowing exhaust with H/F CAT's(use Z34 headers and cat's), a Z33 manual diff(3.538) for those of you with the PM35 only as the PNM is already 3.538, fuel pump and good catch can setup. With those mods you should be able to get 180-190RWKW with good plug and play ECU like a LINK.

    If you want more for a street car a supercharger is your next best bet. The supporting mods to make it work well and get you reliability. power will be about 220 - 240RWK.

    Once you go turbo its a major game changer as everything needs to be adapted especially if your in the PNM35.

    P.S. I am only talking figures with 98 Octane fuel for the boosted setups as E85 is another setup and power change. IMO is you have $20K put an LSA in it and say goodbye

     

  2. EOI: V35 Coupe Roll cage

    Hi all,

    I'm looking at going to AGI in the near future to get a Cams approved Bolt in cage done. To lower costs are there any others out there thinking about getting a cage done. If so I need about 3 cars in total to get the pricing down to about 1K each.

    If not I'll get a custom job non bolt in cage put in.

  3. lol......after doing about 30 of these I can tell you its a different experience everytime. I think the fastest I ever did one was 5hrs......the slowest was about 18hrs. You could never guess which one was to make you its little b@#ch.....the only thing that was always consistent were the little cuts all over your hands and arms. I ended up with 2 draws of my toolbox that was specific to the NM35 turbo change.

     

    Glad you had fun....and I'm glad I will never touch another NM35 for the rest of my life!

  4. Small update on the Vtard. Pretty happy with this beast.....finished fasted nissan on its first sprint on the long circuit on Eastern Creek....and was on its way to 15th outright(2:09 on the long track) but the front hub failed. Will be putting it in Superlap div 2 next year after I spend the next 9 months fine tuning suspension and brakes. Still needs to go on a diet as its 1,520kgs atm.

    Cracked 270RWK and 910NM's at its last tunes on e85.

    Aiming for a 1:39 on the normal track.....should be capable of a 1:43 as is atm.

    P.S. The rear wheels are getting resprayed back to silver because fugly.

  5. Hi All,

    New to the V's

    Bought a S2 V35 6MT about 6 months ago.

    So far mods have been, Akabono brakes, HKS Oil cooler and Kenetic's intake. Just bought a HKS 30/37 turbo kit, 550cc's injectors and fuel system with addition APS intercooler.

    Next up is UPREV, MRC Suspension and a KAZ setup withup 4.11's.

    Looking forward to some fun track days.

    Have gone for a :

    *Haltech PPro and Racepack dash

    *1000cc injectors

    *Cosworth return Fuel System with DW320 pump

    *Nismo 1.5 lsd with 3.9 ratio and Z1 Motorsport diff cover

    *Custom 3" Exhaust

    *Endless 6P Front Brakes and Akabono rear

    *Nismo twin Copermix Clutch

    *BC Red's

    Will be running a FLEX fuel tune. Car is on the Dyno this weekend and I'm hoping for around about 280-300 RWKW!

  6. I really feel like most of the stagea m35 threads end in ask scotty. Surely scotty would be sick of answering everyone questions, personally I feel bad asking him.

    Atleast it'd make more sense to publicly post the answers so that when someone uses the search tool it doesn't end in this.

    so what were you hoping it ended with?

    You have a guy who has bent over backwards for nearly 10years to develop stuff for us and pretty much given everyone info including me at no cost and just wants the best products for us all....and to say the least has achieved the best results in all directions.

    yours comment just make me feel like you sound ungrateful.

  7. Hoping for some help on this.

    I've just put a HKS 30/37 turbo kit on my car. Was hoping that you guy's could steer me in the direction of someone local that will be capable of making me a custom exhaust. I could buy off the shelf but I'm finding most of the systems have restriction in them....on top of that I don't really trust a lot of local guy's to nail this.

    I want to run 3" at least but am not wanting it noisy or to have a drown. I only need from the cat back.

  8. lolz Cam!!!!......good stock NM35's with the VQ25det have been know to run low 14's with no mod's whatsoever!!! Never seen a stock PM35 get close to that out of the box....14.8/9 was the number I think for PM's...and by no means do they feel as strong up top as the NM35's. HP is about the same in the peaks....its the torque that push's the NM35's along a little better all the way to about 5,800rpm's...no need to rev em after that when stock.....unlike the PM35!

    However the guy above is right in terms of refinement....the PM35 is imo a much better all round car in stock form. It comes around to whether you want to mod or not. If you do then the NM35 is the better choice as the end result is much greater as there "are" more choices in setups for any particular person now.....maybe not in the past....but Def now and moving forward.
