  1. I've only done it once, to a traffic controller when they were building the new Ikea about a year ago, the guy was standing toward me with a decent sized puddle infront of him, surely he should have expected it? i did have to get a little closer to the kerb though, the guy wasn't happy about it, turned around and was waving his sign around. He was getting paid to be there, and he should have put himself in a position where that couldn't happen, so IMO, it was fair game, I won't get regular joe on the side of the road though.

  2. Maybe you should apply at M.I.T.A. They generally get u a job pretty quickly. I finnish my apprenticeship in 4 weeks with them, bring it on :(

It's nice that they can find you the job, and can find you another if you get fired/don't get along etc, I think it's worth getting it yourself (you can still be sent to MITA to do your training, I did) around 30-40% of people in my classes weren't MITA employed, and didn't hae to f**k around with all the BS you have to with MITA (MITA pays YOU, from money they get from the employer, take their cut, and you have to organise your holidays through them etc).

A mate is a 4th year MITA employed, he's on $14.60 and hr, I'm on $19 and not MITA employed....

  3. Yeh dealership ftw, new, clean cars, lots of people, lots of parts at hand, I couldn't imagine working at a small workshop now, I'd done work experience at a couple before, everything is just so much easier at a dealership.

Some of the bigger ones have dedicated workshop cleaners, so you dont' even have to do any cleaning up BS in your first year, mine didn't have a cleaner though

  4. My first job was at coles a few years back now. For a while they stocked some dodgy tv's. When they went on special, for some reason, they scanned at $5. Since it was store policy that if it scans incorrectly, the first item is free and subsiquent items are for the lower price, many poeple got some really good deals on tv's. Since then they changed their policy so it only affects products under $50. Was pretty funny at the time though :D

A mate used to work at Kmart, there was a toolbox and tools that was $200 on special for $30 (not great tools, but still nice to have some stuff for home). I thought sweet, and got him to put it aside (he got one for himself too), I come in to get it, he scans it on the floor, $3 'arr, I better fix that, they might get a bit suspicious at the checkout' so he put it back up to $30, I get to the checkout, gets scanned, $11, score.

The box for it is in the background here, I'm proud :)

  5. It worked!

But if I plug it in and turn ignition on it'll go to max again! if you leave it on ACC or have the engine running and plug the guage in it'll show the proper temp....

done some more multimetering, the wire that's meant to be only powered on ignition is powered on acc too, so hopefully that is the underlying problem.

  6. Have got a GReddy oil temp gauge that came with my car, the sender and the

power etc were all wired up before I got it, problem is, it doesn't work.

I've double checked the wiring, works perfect. I'm thinking there is a problem with the guage itself, as the needle is stuck right over at max, weather it's plugged in or not, the needle will jump 'down' (anticlockwise) as you start the engine, but then return instantly, then does it again as you turn ignition off. Going by other pics of them I've seen, they ain't meant to be on max when untouched.... as seen here.

common problem/easy fix at all? or do I have to get other one of these things..

  7. it used to be up to 7.5" in width, unless larger was a factory option.

and 2" increase in diameter as long as the rolling diameter didnt change.

now it is 1.3x the largest factory optioned rim width, providing the track doesnt increase by more than 25mm, and that it doesnt foul any part of the car.

and diameter can be anything that will allow for the same size rolling diameter.

also staggered sizes is still a big no-no, unless it came standard, but none of us drive porsches, so it doesnt matter!

ps. DPI is your friend, if in doubt ask them, rather than get 4574987504579437543750435 answers off the forums. :)

I like the sound of that :whistling:

My Chaser has staggered sizes standard, as does Supras etc, so I can have (according to 1.3x) up to 9.5 wide, which is nice, since I have 9.5"s on the rear, had wondered on the legalitys of it :)
