  1. Please let me know what it costs you. My car started "flaring" so i was thinking about getting it beefed up when 3rd and 4th disappeared. I started making some enquiries about getting a shift kit and otherwise replacing bits to enable it to handle 270kw and I was looking at $2500 plus with no guarantee that it would handle that power plus being thrashed on track days so i have bought an R33 GTR box and being too old and infirm to do it myself am getting it installed. I expect it will work out cheaper than doing the auto (box was $700 but will post up total incl all parts and labour when its done) but would be interested to know what yours costs.

Hi i did all the work myself but with gaskets , fluids & the solenoids all up i did not get much change out of $1000.00 . As for beefing it up i could not help you there . I run my s2 at over 14psi day in day out and i am not kind to it . My slipping prob is a gasket that came out . Not sure where it went there for my slippage prob . My advice if you do it yourself go slow and if you can prop the valve body do it . good luck with this if you want to talk about this i will pm you my mobile .

  2. Getting all 4 solenoids replaced as an effort to make sure this is the last thing I'll ever need to fix. Solenoid A and B were screwed in the end. Now deciding whether or not to take this oppurtunity to sell it while it's running fine, or hope this is the last thing to go wrong after a string of problems.

Sorry to be so late on this . I posted the part numbers for these . The A solenoid is easy to replace . The B solenoid is a pain in the arse to replace . As you have to drop the hole valve body . And if you do try this be carefull springs and shit jump out . Mine slips into second under power . As for part numbers they are correct . Solenoid A = 31940-4AX02 . Solenoid B = 31940-4AX05 .

  3. Spotted s1 green driving from brunswick juction to perth . And yes dale it was your car straight and driving again . All is looking good and be looking at getting it registered again very soon . Great drive couple of little issues but will be sorted .

  4. Hi reuben sorry to say i had the same troubles . My s2 was stuck in 3rd aswell . Do the self diagnosis it will tell you which solenoid is faulty . Solenoid A : 31940-4ax02 $350 incl Solenoid B : 31940-4ax05 $415 incl . They are available thru nissan . And solenoid B is a mongrel to change watch out when you take off the valve body as peices will come out .

  5. had enough piecing real ones back together eh?

    Lulz

I would be interested in just the std RS if someone from Perth wants to make a deal for the others?

Your right about that dale your old one is back together and running . Will be driving it back from its sleep very soon . And for the models they have all been sold now as a job lot . Thanks to those who replied . Hope to see you soon with both stags .

  6. I have a standard rs four v , Dolphin stagea 260 rs autech , Mines stagea 260 rs autech . All 3 are brand new in original boxes . These are 4 sale . They are 4 sale as a job lot $120 + postage if in perth will deliver in metro area . These ARE ALL Series 1 . Sorry will not seperate .

  7. Did not post it the 1st time just got back from 3on 1off . But this time side by side and no look no wave no nothing . Just ignored me like i was in a kia or something . But i say very nice s2 autech . Hope you see me next time .

  8. ahh thanks chuckie.

well got no help from him out there lol :)

but mine was doing the same thing, wasnt the solenoids though, they thought it was but not to sure but wanted me to buy new ones anyway $500 just incase.

So i took it to another place they weren't confident it was the solenoids, so they opened it up, seem like the bands and clutch packs were worn, got a whole new rebuild (cheap) and still got the factory solenoids running fine :D .

HEAT is a factor for the solenoids also to go into limp mode, check temp's and leaks, have your got a Shift Kit installed ? they cause alot of heat inside the stock box because alot more stress and pressure being put through the standard items ....

    Good luck any way Cory

Yeah chuckie is right perth is correct . It was the solenoids have replaced both all is sweet now bar the fluid leak i have which will be sorted tomorrow . I dont wish this prob on anyone especially if you are doing it yourself . Just be carefull you dont drop anything when you pull it apart such as springs and washers . But if you do good luck .

  9. May be supplied but here i go shift solenoids for an s2 . There are 2 shift solenoids this is the problem . Please do yourself a favor do the self diagnosis on your car . But the part numbers for shift soleniod A & B are . A = 31940-4ax02 . B = 31940-4ax05 . Be sure which one you need A=$350 incl trade B=$415 incl trade . So ther goes my ruddy check .

  10. Hi boys and girls i have had a series of let downs . As my s2 has been locked in 3rd or some peeps may say limp home mode . But oh no that is not the prob . I visited a good auto trans guy and pointed me in the right direction . I was told it was the shift valve solenoid . Sweet i thought go and order this part and fit it myself . 3 weeks later with filter , gaskets and solenoid . Its just the same $500 don the drain . Then found gbox trouble shooting on this forum . Nissan supplied me the wrong part ! The part they told they were going to supply was not the part that i was supplied . Now ordered the other solenoid . Another $415 i hope this works will be fitted tomorrow . fingers crossed . Here are the part numbers for solenoid a & b . solenoid A - 31940-4ax02 solenoid B - 31940-4ax05 . PLEASE DONT LET YOUR PARTS INTERPERETUR SUPPLY YOU THJE WRONG PART !!!!!

  11. manual stags have factory adjustable camber in the rear but i'm pretty sure autos dont

Yeah my s2 does have adjustable camber pins in the rear which are seized . But did buy new ones from nissan ex japan $26 inc gst . Which will be fitted by a suspension shop in perth who do all my work and are good with stags as i was a trial run for some gear to work . If anyone is interested pm me and i can point you there way . Just mention me you should get a discount . Good luck .

    D.

  12. Hi all,

i was wondering if these fog lights fitted to the stag are a factory option or not ?

There is a switch to the lower left of the steering wheel that flicks between the original foggies or the bottom mounted ones .

also could someone do a fast check for me if possible just to see what comes up ?

    many thanks

Just to throw another spanner in the works . The switch for my dayz kitted s2 is on the indicater stalk . Similar to the wiper delay on other side .

  13. hiya all.

i have recently sold my stagea and after digging around in the boxes of books/mags i have, i found my 2 hyper rev books featuring stageas.

i also have a "dealer only" Nismo catalogue Volume No.10 bit over 300 pages of parts listings with pictures and numbers etc. covers all models in the series one stagea era. (i cant even find this on Ebay!)

am looking for $50 each plus postage or can work something out for multiple purchases.

    cheers oxford

I will give you $100 for all + postage

  14. money isnt the problem. my missus will kill me if i buy something i dont need is all.

sorry to be so late into this problem from my experience . I have found after weeks & weeks of sorting under boost & under standard boost i did have a break in the wiring loom for th coils . have been running up to the boost cut in an s2 for 25000 kms and have had no dramas . still run this boost now and looking at running more with a greddy profec b . good luck hope it works out for you soon .

  15. i would have thought a legnum with an exhaust, and a stagea with a few other mods would be a fair comparison... o_O

Unfortunately when you put 15psi in a s2 you have hit the boost cut. And she slows bad . But i drove home and the leggy got home very difficultly . But 14.5 consistently all day in AWD class and to take out the championship me be very happy with my slow stag .

  16. Guys sorry i have not looked at this thread in days. Had other things going on, but now i can get back to this....
