  1. How does late Aug or early Sept sound everyone? I've just purchased a Gtech Pro from the US. I hope to get it in the post by next week We should be able to do 1/4 mile time and rwkw output analysis
  2. I should be able to get a hold a a G-Tech pro (**hopefully**) and we can do some 1/4 mile numbers Should be fun. Does anyone know when is the Mallala track open for the public on a Saturday? So that's 3 of us so far
  3. So when is the next tune and drag day? This should be a interesting experience Is anyone interest in a group run at Mallala on their open public day?
  4. BTW incidence = number of accident PREVALENCE = incidence / population I am a car enthusiast. I hate politics and stupid revenue raising laws that treat the general population like a bunch of brainless ppl. Yeah I need a new set of tyres for the rear and a round of good golf before my BP boils
  5. Cab drivers with IQ of around 160 :D That's a reassuring national standard Joel, you can let a lot of BS politics go to the back of your mind but this law will cause a lot of difficulty for car enthusiasts. It will raise a lot of revenue for the governments. Imagine if you have 2-3 cars in your household. That's would average to 2-3 extra sickies per year per house hold. What would that do to the economy? What would that do to the OZ dollar? What would your Jap/USA mods cost then? Oh I forgot, I might charge a bigger gap for my consult and if you happen to get sick often....then What is the new law for one should ask? If it's to remove old bombs off the road then, it't the police job. That's what our tax money are used for isn't it? If this is the only primary goal then it should only be applies to 15 or more years old vehicles. Syd/Melb have used this "new scheme". Is there any proven beneficial stat? It's damn easy to do the number crunching isn't it? How come NSW and VIC still have the highest incidence and PREVALENCE of car accident mortality/morbidity? Even before our speed reduction. (I wont even touch on the 50kph issue here either) We have to look at all the issues involve in this case, good or bad, and unite to express our opinions to the governing body. This is a free country with voting rights. The poloticians are elected and paid by us. We do have the power to make them work for us. Just a little short busrt of frustration and my $0.02 I blame it on the fact that my rear tyres are balded.....need to burn more cash and donate more $$$ to the government

    Track day?

Is the open day on the week day or weekend? If it's on the weekend we should organise a group day thing.
  7. Have you heard of doctor shortage in the public system ? Have you heard of the waiting time in most public system? Have you heard of recent pay raise the government offered to the doctor in the public system? 7% over 2 years when indexation is around 4% per year? Have you heard of the amount of hours most doctors in the public system work? Good luck if you think doctors have time to do this silly thing. What reality are you talking about? The one the government portrait or the one that they have tried to blanket for many years?
  8. No delusion here buddy. How do you feel if after a car accident you have to wait for the doctor to come back from "a car inspection" to save your life. That will be the fact if I have to take my car for inspection. Good luck if you think I drive an unworthy road car and you don't mind waiting on your death pan for the doctor who should obey the LAW (aka BS). "When ever I see a old bomb bouncing around", I feel sorry for the public and the owner of that car. Is the car bouncing around because of the shock or is it the condition of the road? Is the owner driving that car because he/she can't afford a better car because of EXCESSIVE CAR TAX The government need to give some to gain some but they are only interest in their pay rise and luxurious lifestyles from taxpayer money. Why not impose lower car tax and quarterly ROAD CONDITION inspection? I will pay extra for that!!! No offense here Steve but I don't see any good in the new law. It probably go ahead because majority of the population has IQ of less than 100 and don't think too hard about these issues. What PROVEN EVIDENCE does the government provide that the new scheme will be better?
  9. We'll wait and see Steve. If they want to do it they will have to come to my work place to do it
  10. I heard that during an accident the bonnet tend to snap off and can decapitate organic (???living at such speed) things in the car. How true is this?
  11. You are deluded or must have been brainwashed by the government What proportion or kind of cars less than 5 years or even 10years old are defectable? Why would one waste time inspecting these cars? Oh I forgot the majority of cars on the road are in this category......and they have owners with large tax rebates. Those bombs on the streets are the fault of the police system. The police should be active and take these cars off the road rather than handballing it to some one else. Who said the new system is a better system. Anyone can bribe their inspectors to give them a paper work. How easy is it for the inspector to say that the car broke down after they did the inspection job? You should look at thing from all different aspects. Do you think Regency will be closed after the new scheme? Do you think you will be able to breath easier? Do you think transfer of registration between states will be easier Good luck with your thinking. What ever it is, I am too busy to take my car to service let alone take my car for inspection. The government is dreaming. Anyhow, I should be able to get a exemption for this because of my job. Hey I don't even have to be a juror let alone take my car for some idiot to inspect.
  12. So what do we get for yearly rego inspection? Lower car/tyres/registration tax???? You wish. Bottom line: You get nothing, the government get everything!!!
  13. Is carbon fiber bonnet illegal?
  14. No my cup is quite full at the moment. Life could not be any better so far The politicians and politic in Australia are rediculous. May be they should impose a rule and do a yearly IQ/health/usefulness check on the politicians and see how many get written off per year. That I like to see
  15. Dont raise your hopes up ppl!!! Anything that the government touches or involves in will only make our lives more miserable and EXPENSIVE. So instead of spending our good dough on mods and getting it done right, we will in the future 1. Waste our times at car inspection place....the line may be very long if everyone need to get it done. 2. pay fees every year or so...I bet GST still applies here 3. Expose our cars to a the public regularly......it would be a good place for car thieves to hang around don't you think :( 4. The cops still be able to defect your cars on the roads....Regency will still be Regency as usual!!! I don't know what's so good about this except more revenue for the government. It will only get from bad to worst
  16. Coudl you please drop me a PM. I will join if I could. Many TIA
  17. Oh...nothing special, just a little bit more boost with some tyres/brakes/clutch upgrade
  18. When is the next one? Hopefully my project is completed and I like to go and see if I can break 13?
  19. You betta put yor cat back tha'ts $10,000 fine penalty pal
  20. Yes, this is what my friend told me too. Is there any other place that carry out the test as well? Doe Holden in Elizabeth do this test?
  21. Is that true that they spit out oil/fuel for fuel injection system?
  22. Good luck and good work Steve! I have the same question as you at the moment too.....may be we can do a group certificate I might be able to tell you the answer when I hear from my friend. What about CAI or air pod is that illegal and why? May be speed magazine should do an interview with the Regency boys and set things straight for everyone?
  23. hippy, who do you think will pay if you sue the cops? Yes you guess it right us..the tax payer
  24. What's the big deal about BOV? It's only venting compressed air (yes air .....there is no fuel in it right?) into the atmosphere. I do that after every big fatty meal....common come are defect my *##@ That's it....I am going to shop for and buy that gadget that make a BOV noise with every gear shift and put it in my commy....come and defect my "sound system" PS My avatar is dedicated to the Regency boys for their contribution to car safety
