  1. Yes I do have a lot of photos of the skyline, in fact probably hundreds of photos and to answer why I bought the 370Z is I've always been interested in the Z's I was initially looking at geting a second hand 350Z but decided to bite the bullet and get the latest, also my Dad bought a brand new Z in 1977 the 260Z, so I guess in a way now its my turn to own a Z. Though I sincerely hope I dont acheive the same outcome he did, he wiped his out 12months later and nearly lost his life he got t-boned right in the drivers side door, the only thing that saved him was the side intrusion bars in the door that had just came out as a safety feature back then, I've got a few photos of his stacked Z and believe me it aint pretty, But he's kinda excited as well as I am that I'm getting a new Z.
  2. Hello all Havn't been on here for a while been busy as usual, but do regret to say that I've just sold my skyline last month but still have it til next month when my new car arrives I got $8500 trade in for it, I just bought a brand new 2011 Nissan 370Z coupe with 6sp manual in the carbon silver (dark silver) with the 19inch rays alloys, I'm going to miss the skyline big time sometimes during bad times it was the only reaon why I got up in the morning with the drive to work in it going to miss the turbo rush as well, but it just got to the stage where I was spending far too much money on it and I am trying to save for a house as well but now thats gone out the window again with this new car oh well, I think this new car will be lasting me a long long time, but I will always have the good memories of the skyline, and will always have a place in my heart for one maybe years down the track I might be able to afford another skyline as a weekend car but thats wishful thinking at the moment. Thanks for all the help and advice that you guys have given me over the years that I've had the skyline. Thanks again.
  3. Hello all Just wondering what to do about my steering wheel its getting to be quite worn in places the leather still is quite good for the most part but there is some really bad patches whats the best thing to do, it is an airbag wheel would getting it rewrapped in leather somehow be the best / easiest fix? and how would I go about this? the only thing if I do decide to do this is what kind of places would do this for me as I don't have the time to do it myself unfortunately I am using a leather look steering wheel cover at the moment just temporarily (getting sick of that) or would it be best to get a new or another better condition steering wheel with airbag are these easy to replace or not? my mate says to replace airbag wheel have to dissconnect the battery and then wait 10mins or so cause even when battery disconnected sometimes if your not careful you can still trigger the airbag off is this right? I'm not sure how I would go about this and I don't particulary want to muck around with this myself, so any thoughts, opinions would be appreciated Just had my car resprayed considerably expensive but worth it my car had paint issues apparently back in the 95 - 96 era there were a few japanese companies got bad batches of paint and the top coat didn't stick to the undercoat properly Nissan, Toyota and I think maybe Honda just to name a few. So when I got stone chips instead of just a small chip I got massive flakes of paint coming off, so it had to be stripped right down and redone so its been 3 weeks off the road happy to get it back now, mines been like it from the factory any one else here had an issue like this? or is it just mine?. The bloke I went to, to get it resprayed says he's done several japanese cars that have been like this, he does a lot of mercedes, bmw and hsv's and is quite a fussy bloke so am happy with mine now.
  4. Yeah thanks thats what I've been thinking, that its the fan not disengaging will have to check it out, I mean sometimes it will cut out and other times it will stay on so its probably sticking or something, will see if I can get another clutch fan.
  5. Hello all just needing an opinion about the fan on my R33 its roaring all the time especially when you acclerate is this normal? its been doing this the last few days it drowns out the engine noise as soon as I drive off to work early in the morning the fans roaring and when I'm on my way home from work its roaring as well in all the 4 years that iv'e owned this car i've never heard the fan this loud and the temp guage is sitting on just a bit above cold, when i got it serviced early this month I asked the guy to checkout the thermostat and they told me straight away that there is nothing wrong with it, what do you guys think.
  6. I'm fairly sure its a hot start issue as when I start it first thing in the morning it starts up fine, and when I start it to go home from work it starts up ok, it generally has the issue after I get home from work I'll leave it for about half hour - hour then when I get in it to start it up to go out again it plays up, and regarding the heater I don't reckon it gets as hot as much as it used to, so it might be the thermostat playing up I'll have to check that out thanks for the reply guys.
  7. Hello all Want some advice recently my 95 R33 GTs25t has been giving me starting issues, dosn't do it all the time sometimes it takes 2 - 3 goes before it starts, sometimes it takes a long time to start and then when it does start up the revs drop right down and it nearly stalls before revving back up to normal again once its started it drives fine. Iv'e been looking at a few things and was wondering if the coolant temp sensor would cause this, I have noticed lately that after a 40min drive my cars temp gauge is still showing that its cold the gauge does move up from the first stroke but it dosen't quite reach its normal operating temp by the guage, which I think is wrong as the car would have been definetly warmed up after a 40 min run, I have been to various places to check this starting issue and they hook it up to the scope and such and no errors come up at all, they find nothing wrong with it and I have heard that the coolant temp sensor will not show up any errors, also another thing could it have anything to do with O2 sensor as far as I know this has not been replaced and I know a lot of people replace this at 100,000kms the CAS has been checked and it seems fine I'm taking it in tomorrow for its 130,000km service hopefully they find something and fix it Just wanting to know what it could be so that when I take it in I can get them to check it. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
  8. hello all Just wanting some opinions on what is the best way to improve my R33 s1 headlights low beam in particular I already have gone out and purchased some dear phillips halogen globes (can't remember exactly what they were called) which are meant to be 50 percent brighter than standard globes, I admit they are better than the standard ones but still don't do anything for me. I'm going to see about retrofitting some sort of driving lights where the S1 has the space for them next to the indicators they are there but have nothing in them, and I don't want to fit some after market HID set up that my headlights aren't designed for and I don't really have the time to be mucking around with this either, I do a lot of driving and sometimes I don't finish work til ten at night with a 40 min drive home on an unlit major highway so can't really use highbeam as too much traffic, I just want some decent low beam headlights. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Hello all Just wanted your opinion on whether its worth my while updating my 95 R33 Series1.5 to an R34 GTT manual there is a silver R34 for sale at a car dealer not far from me, it looks alright but have only seen it while driving along am going to have a closer look at it on monday (if it hasn't sold by then) I still like my car and have had no major problems with it and have just put a new set of tyres on it last week (costly), apart from the R34 being a few years newer is there any massive difference from an R33 gts25t apart from the obivious body change I use my car as a daily driver and do a lot of kms it takes me 40mins just to get to work, also is there anything I should watch out for with the R34 GTT, though if I really like it and seems alright I might just get an racv inspection on it, then I'd just have the problem of trying to sell mine.
  10. Am still having starting issues with my R33, anyone got any suggestions? I checked that crank angle sensor it seems fine, yet car is still playing up I took it to a place to get it checked out and they can't find anything wrong with the car at all, the only thing they could think of is it could be a bad batch of fuel could this be the case? I'm inclined to think its not the fuel as the car runs fine once its started but now and then it dosn't want to start up it just keeps cranking over and over and then will eventually start. I did use the cheaper unleaded fuel once just recently as the servo had run out of the premuim 98 otherwise I'm always running with the BP ultimate 98 fuel, the cheaper fuel wouldn't have upset it would it?
  11. Thanks unfortunately I'm unable to borrow a CAS, but I'll check it out, its been off before when I last got it serviced as they replaced the cam gaskets so they have marked its postion where it should go back, so that will make it easier for me.
  12. Hey all havn't been on here in a while flat out working and such Just having a few issues with my 33 at the moment when trying to start it, it seems to take a long time before it starts up, its like its flooding, yet sometimes it will start up fine, and other times takes 2 to 3 goes before it will start, some of my mates reckon it could be the crank angle sensor but don't know could any of you guys shed some light on what it could be, its recently had new spark plugs, battery, fuel filter etc etc, its also had a few lots of injector cleaner through it but that was a fair while ago and its been running fine up till a few days ago. any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Thanks for the info I'll check it out and see if it has abs, but it might be just that oil pressure light
  14. I noticed tonight a red light flashed up on my dash and was just wondering what it was, I didn't have time to look to see what it was, it just flashed once as I was hard under brakes in the wet and the only thing I could think of was that it might be a light for abs the red light flashed up over on the right side near where the oil and battery light is, but mine is only a series 1.5 If thats what you call them its a late 95 model so has series 2 spoiler and such, I didn't think these had abs can anyone tell me if series 1.5 had abs? how can you tell Iv'e had my car all locked up before when braking so don't know? if its not abs light what else could it be? any ideas?
  15. yeah definately check it out on a dyno mine was running slow when I got it, I didn't know about it cause I went straight from an old laser 4cyl to skyline turbo six without having driven any other higher powered car so I thought it was fast and only found out when I got it serviced the guys at the shop said that it was very slow compared to other skylines they'd serviced and tested , they thought It might have been leaking boost or something, but once they tuned it up and such I couldn't believe the difference.
